Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai? Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen

After a slow but eventful summer vacation, Shuchiin Academy's second term is now starting in full force. As August transitions into September, Miyuki Shirogane's birthday looms ever closer, leaving Kaguya Shinomiya in a serious predicament as to how to celebrate it. Furthermore, the tenure of the school's 67th student council is coming to an end. Due to the council members being in different classes, the only time Kaguya and Miyuki have to be together will soon disappear, putting all of their cunning plans at risk.

A long and difficult election that will decide the fate of the new student council awaits, as multiple challengers fight for the coveted title of president.

This season is a great continuation of the previous season. Not only do they add some interesting new characters, but they also show us new plots that are just as good and entertaining as those shown before.
I think if you liked the previous season, you'll like this season just as much, if not more. Much of this season allows us to take a deeper look at the characters shown and also to see what they were like before being on the council. One thing I loved about what they showed was the council treasurer who created his own story. It will surprise you and make ... you see the character differently.
If you saw last season, this season is definitely worth watching, and I highly recommend it. I also think that if you didn't see last season, there wouldn't be any problem because, although the plots reference the previous season, it's not completely necessary to have seen it for most of the plots shown here, although it is recommended that you have seen the previous season.
The animation and the story are very good, and I highly recommend it.

Que gran continuación de la anterior temporada es esta, no solo agregan nuevos personajes bastante interesantes también nos muestran nuevas tramas igual de buenas y entretenidas como las mostradas con anterioridad.
Creo que si te gusto la temporada anterior esta temporada te va a gustar de igual forma y hasta más. Mucho de esta temporada hace que vayamos viendo más a profundidad los personajes mostrados y además a ver qué eran antes de estar en el consejo. Uno que me encanto lo que mostraron fue al tesorero del consejo que creó su historia te sorprenderá y te hará ver de diferente forma al personaje.
Si viste la temporada pasada vale mucho la pena ver esta temporada sin lugar a dudas y la súper recomiendo, creo de igual forma que si no viste la temporada pasada no habría ningún tipo de problema porque las tramas aunque llegan ha hacer referencia de la temporada anterior no es completamente necesario que la haya visto para la mayoría de tramas mostradas aquí aunque lo recomendable es haber visto la temporada anterior.
La animación y la historia son muy buenas la recomiendo muchísimo.

Ishigami is easily the most well developed character in the show, and episode 11 was peak storytelling, probably the best episode in the entire series. His arc had real emotional weight, making him feel like a fully fleshed out character rather than just comic relief. The humor throughout the season is solid, and the art style works well for the most part. However, the main relationship just doesn’t hit the same. The back-and-forth between Shirogane and Kaguya, while fun at first, starts to feel like it’s running in circles with no real progress. It’s predictable, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but without much evolution ... in their dynamic, it loses that initial charm. That said, if you enjoy the setup and style of the first season, there’s still a lot to like here, just don’t expect major surprises.

As I wrote in my review of season 1, Kaguya: Love is War feels like the characters were generated by a machine learning model prompted to create the most generic leads possible: Kaguya and Miyuki are even less compelling than stock tsunderes, Ishigami is your rinsed-and-repeat otaku, and Chika is the embodiment of every single deredere trait possible.

There's no story here: every single episodes starts and ends at the same place. The characters spend most of their time within the confines of the student council room, and little, if any, character development ever happens. The plot, of two characters attempting to convince the other to ... confess their love, is held together by the flimsiest twine possible The story relies on the cast acting like caricatures of real people, and the jokes fall as flat as the story.

But most of us need mindless entertainment, something to turn our brain off and enjoy. It's why sports are such a spectacle, Twilight's explosive and continued popularity. And two of my recent favorites can only be described as dumb: Kamisama Kiss and Promare. Promare is dumb, wholesome testosterone in an explosion of colors. And it is glorious.

But Kaguya: Love is War fails even when watching it with a single brain cell. Even if you ignore the barren wasteland of a plot and how the story falls apart at the slightest look, it still sucks when watching it nearly unconscious after a bender. We are constantly shown something and told another. We are told Kaguya is cold and calculating, only for her to freeze and collapse at the faintest hint of affection from Miyuki.

Chika is Schrodinger's idiot: the plot relies on her chaotic nature and her intelligence being the barren wasteland after nuclear war. And yet, she is likely the most intelligent member of the group, shown to be fluent in French and calculating in cheating at every board game she plays. She reads the emotions of others before they do, and designs scenarios for them to express these feelings.

Even if you fried every single brain worm you have, Kaguya still would be an insult to your intelligence. The only redeemable points, which are woefully average, are the art and the music. You know the intro soundtrack was crafted by a lounge singer with a wardrobe filled with a kaleidoscope of colors and the most ill-advised bowtie just by hearing his voice. And yet this soundtrack is quite possible the most original thought this show has ever contemplated.
