4 Ahiru no Sora
I enjoyed it for the most part - the more realistic approach to basketball (rather than Kuroko for example) was a big boon for me and the story was decent, but it was super slow and poorly animated. Since the team has not achieved even a single match win and most of the players (excluding Sora, Chiaki and Kite) were rather useless, the 'growth' part does not exist here. Also, a massive loss as the conclusion of the story with no S2 coming is very underwhelming.

However, I did enjoy it enough to binge late into the evening a few times, so I can't complain too much.

Story makes me raise my eyebrows at times, some characters' motivations make little to no sense, 3D animation is weird, but the main thing is - it's interesting. Kei is unlike usual MC's as he is unconcerned about other people, which makes me not want to root for him as much, but it makes him stand out of the crowd as an interesting character. Satou is an evil fuck, but he is badass and fun to watch and I wonder what will happen with Shimomura. She seems to like Tosaki somewhat even if she can't trust him. Want to see what will happen next.

9 Ajin Part 2
Loved character progression for Nagai, Shimomura and especially Tosaki. The ending doesn't feel like an ending though because nothing has been concluded and with no season 3 yet. However despite the weird 3D CGI it was really interesting and it felt like the whole cour passed in 20 minutes and that's the most important part.

10 Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
Most of the plot was really cliched despite the fact that Shirayuki was more competent than your average damsel in distress (Example: she was kidnapped and fought back but in the end she still relied on a prince to save her). Side cast was more interesting than the main pair though and I really don't like Zen who was your average bishounen main love interest.

I kind of enjoyed it, but the story is pretty weak (what the hell are those powers and the hell was with that ending?), the characters outside Kaneda and Tetsuo were so under developed that I didn't care about any of them and the two I mentioned weren't that great either. Also the character art is really dated. Of course being a 1988 movie I shouldn't be surprised, but the backgrounds looked much better and the animation was really fluid.

It is hailed as a "classic", but it isn't all that great.

15 Amagi Brilliant Park
An enjoyable light anime with a convenient, but appropriate, happy ending. The story wasn't anything special, but the comedy was good and the characters (Isuzu, Senya and the three stooges) had enough quirks in them to keep it going even if no one in particular was a blast to watch.

21 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu
Pretty much throughout the anime I liked it a lot. Original plot, entertaining episodes, even if the suspense was low because of Koro's omnipotence, although I wonder, why no one just nuked the entire place with Koro? So by episode 19 or so I had it as a solid 8. However the ending kicked it down a lot. A convenient surefire technique that Nagisa has learned beforehand that had 3 pre-requisites, but all of them were conveniently fulfilled. That and his friends shouting from the sidelines made it feel like it's taken out from (insert a battle shonen anime here). But the biggest annoyance of it all was that while they were talking about assassinations all the time, worked with and admired professional assassins and train all day to kill, when it actually came to kill or be killed situation, the moralising started and no killing was allowed. Why the double standard? Bitch-sensei for example has killed a ton of people before, Koro is planning to destroy earth and so on, but no one cares, or even talks about it, but when it came to on-screen killing it suddenly becomes wrong. It really pissed me off.

Even better than season 1, including the whole context, the reason behind the setup, backstories and proper ending. There were scenes I really liked: like Koro saying 7-1 in Brasil (rofled at that) and Nagisa calming Kaede with a kiss. The ending was properly done with no cop-outs, but it was a tad too long on the partings and one thing I really would have liked to see was Nagisa and Kaede hitting it off. Not to be.

Great football anime - even though the characters felt average, the story was great - I especially liked the position change for Ashito.

Really enjoyed the story, the rise of Maruo is interesting and not unbelievable as in some sport anime. I wish they'd focus more on side characters and their successes, defeats and struggles and not only on Maruo. Everyone else seem like plot devices for Maruo to proceed with his path rather than characters on their own.

Couldn't decide between 7 and 8, so giving 8 as a benefit of doubt for even better season 2.

32 Baby Steps 2nd Season
Even more enjoyable than season 1, just the ending was half-assed. He neither went pro, nor gave up, because the anime ended before his big tournament. Which is very sad, as there are no more seasons.

Also, what was that in Florida? Everyone speaks flawless japanese? Even people that are not connect to Japan at all? If you're just ignoring languages, why Mike had an accent? Why Maruo had trouble speaking english that one time? Why did friends warn one of the guys about languages before he went abroad? None of it makes sense.

Overall, a superb anime. Really enjoyed both seasons and will be interested in reading what happens next.

39 Bakuman.
It is really quite enjoyable while I watch it, but there isn't much that dragged me back after I took a break so it took me months to complete it.

The story is great, it has one of the most realistic flows in anime and you can't be sure of what'll happen next unlike in most anime of this type. Will they get in this time, will they not? The characters are hit or miss though. I kind of like Takagi and Miyoshi's pair and Eiji (garbage can confeti to congratulate was hilarious), but Mashiro and Azuki annoy me. Their "relationship" is built on a crush they developed without even speaking to each other and they intend to marry each other without meeting, ever, when/if their dreams come true. It is an interesting plot point, however, one that I hope is not resolved in a cheesiest way possible and I hope they are going to have to overcome a few obstacles. I'd love to see this relationship crash, but I don't expect it to happen.

The best thing I noticed about the anime is that it doesn't do cheap drama. There were a few times when there could've been a cheap dramatic moment (coffee spils on a ready manuscript, or it gets stolen, effectively ruining their chances due no fault of their own, or one of them collapses due overwork), but it steered away from it. I love that about the anime.

It is a little hard to relate to people who work so hard towards a dream of that magnitude and while sports anime do have the fact that I actually like most of the sports involved, I do not like to draw and to see people spending days at a time just drawing is not really relatable to me.

40 Bakuman. 2nd Season
It took quite a bit of season 1 for this anime to get going but season 2 flew by very fast. Hiramaru is definitely a great addition to the cast and I hope Nakai is gone for good. Nothing more to add, it didn't drop in quality and I hope for more of the same in S3 and if it manages to wrap it up well for all the characters, it could get the best score out of all seasons. I wonder what Miyoshi is going to do for living though.

P.S. One eyed winks are ridiculous. No one just closes one eye for no reason and it was almost a default expression in this season for many characters.

41 Bakuman. 3rd Season
Good ending to the series, but there was a drop in enjoyment from S2 because the unpredictability of it was completely erased. 44 Berserk
One of my favorite mangas of all time that really needed adaptation outside of the golden age arc. I've been waiting for this ever since I read the manga and I finally got it. But what I got is appaling. 12 episodes taken out of a random place in the manga, without any background or at least, transition from the original anime. If you didn't read the manga, you'll probably understand nothing. None of the characters' motivations are explained at all and they just feel dry. Also the animation is dreadful. Everything looks much worse than in the original anime which aired almost 20 years ago. The only thing that kept me going was the fact that it's Berserk, but it would've been much better to have no further adaptation than this disaster. Overall it was appaling and the worst thing is, I can't have any more hope for a Berserk anime adaptation since we are getting one. This one.

Wow this was so dull. The biggest achievement of this anime was to keep me hoping for a happy Haji - Saya ending, but they even fucked up that in a most predictable kind of way possible. Haji kisses Saya and everything is okay now, but wait, one of the villains is still alive and it takes Haji's sacrifice to kill him.

They pulled this kind of expected let downs quite a few times in the show too. One was with Irene. Immediately when she became one of the very few characters that I liked, I knew she was going to get killed. And boom, next episode, she's dead, because apparently Saya's blood won't heal her. PLOT TWIST.

Another problem was its pacing. The chevaliers came and went many times, promising to fight another day, but since they were early established as dull and evil assholes with their child experiments, I just wanted them to die as soon as possible and everytime they escaped I got disappointed.

I felt like Diva's character had a lot of potential with her being a tragic villain, but her indiscriminate murders and the fact that she spent most of the time as a dude left me without any sympathy for her too.

Kai was a decent character, but by the time he reached that level, I already couldn't root for him, because he was so annoying at first. Mao should've had a bigger role, but I didn't really care about the other side characters.

Overall this was a really dull and slow show, not helped by the fact that it had no comedy and all the colors were pretty bleak, giving it even more boring atmosphere.

I regret watching it, I even would rather have watched retarded harem shows with cardboard cutout characters. At least they have some fun under all of their stupidity. Here, under its layers and layers of boredom there is only disappointment to be found.

This is as far away from football that an anime about football could be. Everyone's a striker, every goal is in the last minute, players 'evolve' every match all while making the most extreme facial expressions imaginable. Every episode tries to one-up the last by being the most hyper-awesome epic moment, but it only comes as cringe.

I liked the idea of 2to5 people elimination game, but as the games were stupid, it didn't do that well either.

I assume someone who is not a fan of football/sports in general or someone much less caring of realism in said sports would enjoy this anime, but that someone is not I.

58 Boku no Hero Academia
It was pretty entertaining, but it was pretty much a cardboard cutout shonen anime with all the shonen flaws. Weak MC who gets a training montage and gets strong, but only manifests his powers when someone is in danger? Check. Black and white factions? Check. Recaps at the start of every episode? Check. Complete lack of tension because everyone gets to the brink of death but is saved at the very last second? Check. They even had recovery girl to show that even the injuries are meaningless. The one thing that it didn't have from average shonen is time. While some people can say this is a plus, since you don't have to invest so much time, I say this is a big minus. Academia has a big student body with many diverse abilities, but apart from a few characters no one gets enough screen time or development, so I don't get invested in them, unlike in long shonen where you can easily find a few favorites who you love to root for even if you know that everything is going to be ok in the end.

Overall it's a very simple shonen with a "the story continues" ending, but it's pretty entertaining, so it's fine.

Pretty boring, with most of the characters either completely boring (Naegi, Asahina), completely pointless (Hagakure). or just had no time to be developed (most of the new characters). I thought this was more like a filler so it was a bit of a surprise when they killed of probably the only really interesting character inside the killing game, but other then that it was predictable. A side character gets an episode to explain some of its backstory and then raises all the death flags near the end of the episode and is killed right after.

Overall, I don't think this is something that you need to watch if you played the games or if you haven't. There was no need to connect the plot if you were going to do it in such a half-assed way.

95 Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen - Zetsubou-hen
I was hoping for an insight to the backstory of SDG2 characters, but I wish I hadn't. What I got was utter horseshit. Most of the characters that I liked had no screen time and had no development whatsoever. They were just taken straight out of the game, had a few stickers stuck on them (this one has hamsters and talks weird, this one has massive inferiority complex and is clumsy) and they just performed their roles for what little time they got. I didn't get to like anyone any more than I did. In fact, I probably like all of them (except for Nanami) less then I did before.

Junko is a terrible villain, crazy in the exact right amount to get the story rolling and it works as a mastermind in games, but on screen she's just boring.

The worst part is - the whole falling into despair process made literally no sense. You see a nasty video and you become Junko's puppet? Seriously? I wish I hadn't seen this and had the whole question shrouded in mystery.

Overall, this brings nothing to the franchize and I wish it didn't exist. In fact the only thing I got that I wanted to understand better was Mukuro's part in all this.

96 Danganronpa: Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei The Animation
Great story, but it really pisses me off how much it was rushed. For me it was just a revisit to see the characters again since I've played the game and loved it, but for those who haven't it was definitely not a good adaptation. All the stuff in case solving felt like it was pulled out straight from the ass and the atmosphere that was in the game wasn't reflected here since it basically went murder-case-murder-case without any time to develop characters or the feeling of gradually increasing despair. Also the game mechanic inclusion into anime adaptation was a little weird. The only really good thing I can say about the adaptation was that Touko's VA was amazing.

Overall, just play the game unless you want to see a lazy, completely watered down product.

Oh dear god. Absolutely moronic plot which stacked holes upon holes with an incredibly annoying, whiny protagonist. The only other memorable character was Shiro and I had high hopes for her, but her whole existence was left unexplained. Oh and the story just cut off after 12 episodes with no ending and no sequel in sight. Worst anime I've ever seen, without a doubt.

Hard to find thoughts on this one - on one hand it is an original concept dealing with a rather dystopian society and the whole 'finding border where reality ends and 'fake' reality begins' point is fascinating.

On the other hand, the show wasn't that interesting to watch. Whether it was because of the bland artstyle, pace never being consistently fast (some episodes felt like fillers and they didn't advance the plot in any way) or the fact that all characters were children (which is not that relatable any more), but it never felt like I was 'into' the anime. Running towards the end I was more hoping that it would end soon rather than interested in how it will end.

Overall, an interesting idea that managed to be a boring anime.

109 Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu
This is likely the most I enjoyed an anime with a score of 4 ever, but I just couldn't write more, cause it was so bad.

First of all, the name only works if it's a parody, or at least a fun comedy anime that doesn't take itself too seriously. And this is none of the above. It tries to take itself way too seriously with every character having a more tragic history than the previous one, because that's obviously the only way you could make the viewer care for a character. Instead of, you know, making a good character I guess?

With the dark setting, the name just sounds retarded and the comedy, which plagues the anime, is just as retarded as the name. I say plagues, because it is horrible and when a retarded "geh, he's a pervert, stay away" scene comes straight after one that was supposed to be quite tragic and emotional, it just makes you question the sanity of the writers.

The story is just jumping from one cliche to another and it doesn't even manage to do that right. Ferris calls Ryner a pervert every episode, which is pretty usual for a stupid comedy skit in anime, but here, Ryner didn't even do anything, intentionally or no, to warrant such treatment and it is just stupid. Then Ferris manages to calm Ryner down when he goes berserk, by appealing that he's not a monster, which is, again, pretty obvious for anime like that, but when their relationship before and after that is solely based on the comedy skit mentioned above, there is no character development to be had with this particular cliche. I can go on and on, for example with Aura's father scene and such, but it is probably enough.

As far as characters go, Ryner would be tolerable if he didn't engage in the retarded comedy with Ferris, but alas. Ferris herself apart from the "pervert" thing had only one other thing going and that was the dango, which was so overdone that it made me angry everytime she mentioned it. Their relationship only evolved when the plot demanded it (Ryner went berserk, or Ryner left, or Ryner was almost killed).

The only character that I really liked was Miran Froaude. His unapologetic murdering of one-dimensional asshole nobles was really fun and the fact that he was probably the only one who didn't engage in stupid attempts at comedy was refreshing.

As I said, I quite enjoyed it, even with it's flaws and depending on the end, I was willing to write it an above average 6, but it did the worst ending possible, which is: "look at all these unresolved plots that have to be resolved, but there is no sequel to be had". What happened to Kiefer? What about the "god eyes" people and their feud with Gastark? What is the deal with Ferris' brother? Who was the "Lieral" dude? What is happening with Sion? How will Ferris' and Ryner's relationship progress? It left all these plot threads unresolved and it didn't even try. Instead the last few episodes went out of their way to include another "Weaver of Formulas" plot thread.

To sum it up, this anime was shit. It didn't know what it was trying to do and in the end it had nothing to show for all the 24 episodes it had. I did enjoy the ride somewhat, but I would never recommend it to anyone in a million years.

Solid start, Akira was pretty cool then and I was interested for a couple of episodes, but then all the characters just died one by one until there was no one left and I didn't care one bit about any of them, cause no one had any development whatsoever. I will probably forget this show even exists in the next month or so.

111 Dororo
The premise was interesting, but the execution was flawed. Sacrificing one person for the greater good is an intriguing moral dilemma, but no one actually had any interesting thoughts into the matter - Tahomaru f.e. flipped immediately to 'Must kill him for the greater good' without any consideration to what his father actually did, what could he do to him given the circumstances and what it means to have a lord who didn't achieve anything himself, but everything through demons by sacrificing another. He didn't have many doubts into killing his brother either.

Hyakkimaru himself didn't doubt himself much either, he was too much of a simpleton for that - his only thoughts were - 'Mine, give back'.

There were many other problems with the story - like many side stories devolving into similar formula of 'a demon plagues x, Hyakkimaru kills him and saves x, gets back a body part'.

Getting back the body parts was also done poorly as the adaptation was much too rapid, most egregious example being ears and voice. He grew up not knowing any sounds, but could speak and understand pretty much without issue in an episode.

Also, what was Hyakkimaru's mother's and step-father's sacrifice at the end supposed to accomplish? They could've backtracked through the tunnel easily.

All in all, there were many problems with the story, but they could all be forgiven if characters were interesting. They were not. Dororo was an annoying brat and Hyakkimaru was blank. So an episodic anime with usually just those two was seriously disappointing.

And I really had hopes for it - Samurai anime with a (supposedly) badass lead is exactly what gets my blood running.

The whole drama was a little too much at times, but it was done quite well. No ending is a problem for anime. Enjoyable for an evenings watch but has a lot of plot problems - what was the point of it all? Why was the world in danger? How did Ponyo becoming human saved the world? Why are you asking a 5 year old to pledge eternal love? Why did Sousuke's mom leave the kids alone? She already was of little use to the elders as they have either been evacuated or drowned already. Where was any of her concern for her child, who at 5 years old, had to go on a boat through the ocean with another 5yo to find her?

I know it's a childrens movie, but still. It also lacked any real drama - the one that was the most threatening was Ponyo with her tsunami'ing a whole village for the sake of seeing Sousuke.

145 Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri
It might be a little politically skewed since in the anime SDF are the "good guys" and pretty much everyone else is the bad guy which could be seen as a major flaw. However, that didn't really bother me and I had a ton of fun with this anime.

It had a lot of mixing. Between modern Japanese army and feudal armies of the Special Region. Between light hearted comedy and some military tension. There was something incredibly cool in watching Pina Co Lada look at a SDF helicopter mow down a horde of bandits with horror in her eyes. This was all on top of having really likeable characters like bloodthirsty demigod loli - Rory, calm and collected young magic girl Lalena Lelei La and Pina Co Lada who was very determined to do good for her country. From the main 'harem' Tuka Luna was the only weaker character, but I look forward to seeing how she copes with her father's loss, she didn't look all that healthy mentally by the end of this season.

But the biggest thing that made the anime so enjoyable and on top of which everything else was built was the main character - Youji Itami. Sure he wasn't the most complex character of them all and he had a lot of the tropes of MCs that are in this kind of shows - an otaku who is quite weak with girls, who every major girl's life revolves around and who has a heart of gold. However this was put on an adult, who was married before, who is a trained soldier and who sometimes makes a little cold decisions. All that makes for a character that is genuinely fun to watch, without it being really annoying or awkward. Sure he's going to prevail at everything he does, but for mindless fun, it is great. It is the biggest difference from shows like 'ReZero' or 'Zero no Tsukaima' and in my opinion pretty much the most important thing an anime has to get right. If you get a MC right, you can grab me fast and then everything good about the anime shines that much brighter and the flaws are overlooked. But if the MC is annoying and it is not fun to watch from the start, I'll either drop it fast or, more likely, endure through the anime and pick on every single thing I dislike.

For now I give it a 9, but since it's only a 12 episode show without an ending, the second season will decide if I want to take a point away from it or not.

E: Season two did quite some damage to the overall feeling to this show, but I can't deny that I've had a lot of fun with it.

146 Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri Part 2
Itami's (and his pack) complete invincibility, like when fighting dragon no one from his harem was seriously injured, but all the dark elves were killed and no one gave a shit, and free reign while other soldiers had to adhere to higher-up politics even when they wanted to do something good were too much, also modern military slaughtering old-time warriors went from badass to boring, since you always know who is going to win, so the enjoyment fell quite a lot from season 1.

The one thing I have to say that I loved from season 2 was Tyuule. She is someone that I would love to see to be developed further and I hated Zorzal with a passion.

In the end I had fun with this show overall, but it kind of felt, especially in the last episode, like a massive add for otakus to join the JSDF. I mean if Itami can do it, you can too and you should, because they are badass, they save people and they always win. They are "everyone's beloved SDF"!

149 Gin no Saji
My score might be a disservice to this anime since I appreciate the originality of it and it had a nice art style, but it was just so boring that I can't write it anything higher. I am not a fan of slice of life in the first place, but a lot of them has things to offer. For example - comedy (Danchi Koukosei no Nichijou), characters (Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon), atmosphere (Mushishi) or at the very least - cute girls. I am definitely not a fan of Non Non Biyori, but it was easier to watch than this one. Gin no Saji didn't make me laugh, it didn't have characters I cared about and I don't really care about farming and the like in the first place.

In short, this anime is just not for me, I may be petty to give it a low score because of that, but I didn't enjoy it. Lower rating was avoided only because of the originality factor, even if the generic high school rom-coms are more entertaining than Gin no Saji.

First episode was really bad and I have spent around a year between 1st and 2nd episodes because of that, but the rest of the show was quite interesting even with the plot shift. The first part of the story, the mafia drama, was actually really good, but it was ruined by completely unlikeable characters. Everyone other than Brandon were mostly selfish dicks murdering everyone in their way "for the organization" which makes no sense to me. And Brandon himself started out interesting, but his motivations confused me at first and just made me mad when he just gave up Maria. "I am a murderer, so I can't have you, but here, he's my boss, a mafia head, in who'se name all these murders are being carried out, who's double your age and who's like an uncle to you". She wouldn't become happier, safer, more loved or would be with a more deserving person. It was just retarded. I'd have understood if he'd felt guilty and left her in the hands of a person who hasn't commited any crimes, but not this.

The second part was significantly more simple. Brandon would go and kill monsters one by one with convenient "anti-superior bullets". However, his motivations were finally clear (protect the girl), so even if he made stupid decisions (leaving her with two helpless old men) I was rooting for them.

All in all, this anime had so many issues, but it was quite interesting and I don't regret watching it.

This one is very polarising to me. On one hand it it has the exact thing I want in anime - an unique story rather than the currently popular cookie-cutter cliche storie with a twist of it's own (if that). On one hand it had a fascinating world of it's own, on the other, it did not bother explaining the more interesting parts of it. On one hand, I want to sing praises for this anime, but on the other - I don't think I enjoyed it that much.

Really happy such anime exist. Not a big fan of boxing, nor were any of the characters too interesting, but I loved it for what it was. Loved the story, even if the match outcome was predictable most of the time. Loved the gags, even if they were dumb. But most of all, I loved the length of it. It wasn't like 90% of one or two cour anime that barely have time to flesh things out - it had the luxury to drop characters for dozens of episodes (Kumi, Miyata) and bring them back with purpose. It also managed to tell a story from begginer boxer to champion without it feeling rushed. And, it didn't drag on unnecessarily like the long running shonen do.

I wish more anime were like this.

This one pissed me off a little actually. While it's not that much different from the main anime that I liked a lot it did a couple of things really poorly for me. First - the 'Confession' by Ippo was just awkward and painful, he didn't even muster the courage to do it. Second - the battle was as tough as every battle for Ippo, maybe even more so - but it didn't feel like it should be the case. If you're the strongest, not all of your battles are going to be life-or-death. Some will be easier. And this felt like it should've been. Third and the biggest - the main anime made so much noise about 'champion's fists being special/heaviet' and such, but as champion, Ippo was even a bigger wuss than before. Seems like it was all a lie, huh.

174 Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger
The fights became a bit too shonen-y with 'nakama punch' and stuff, but it was really interesting to have Ippo not be the focus of the anime. Miyata, Date and mostly Takamura (who had an epic fight) were at the spotlight more than he and this format is even better than in the first season.

178 Hataraku Saibou
Unique idea, however it leads to being unable to relate to any character from the very start. Worst offender was a misunderstood cancer cell, for which I was supposed to feel sympathy when it was dying. It's a cancer cell. Nothing more needs to be said.

The show itself was predictable with the common episode containing a disease-of-the-day which threatened for a while until a cell-of-the-day proved it's worth by defeating it.

The comedy of the show, where it had any, wasn't great either and there was not a single interesting character as the motivation for all of them was to 'do their job'.

Overall, a dud for me, however I applaud the unique idea, so it isn't the worst thing ever.

P.S. Telling me what a 'white cell' is 13 times during 13 episodes was just moronic.

The visuals are great, the hype around it massive and the first few episodes were of genuine excitement for me. A fairy tale, with all that comes with it: two dimensional usual characters (Goody goody Sophie) and convenient plot that ends in a happy ever after (turnip was conveniently a prince and he'd end the war along with the witch of opposing kingdom who suddenly had a change of heart). Overall neither the story nor the characters were exactly original or interesting, but the top notch art, attention to detail and some other minor things (like a curious girl trapped in a grandma's body and the old dog) kept me interested till the end. It's overrated as hell, but not terrible by any means.

Pretty good anime. The darker story elements and not being afraid to do anything with the story itself felt great. However none of the characters felt particularly interesting, so there was no one to attach myself to. Combined with outdated artstyle and some of the plot points making no sense (complete buffoon being the main villain and leader of such a big military complex and a random kid being able to to accomplish so much in a militarized world) made this anime much less enjoyable than it could've been. Definitely something I don't regret watching, however.

The soundtrack is great again and the backgrounds look fantastic in this movie. If it didnn't look this good the rating from me would've been a lot lower, cause the story was really lacking, slow paced and riddled with so much "philosophical" drivel that every other sentence was a random quote from anywhere. 201 InuYasha
So much wasted potential.

It hadinteresting bits of story (Main love triangle, Kohaku's and Kagura's struggles having to serve Naraku and a few others) but it dragged them out so much that it became annoying. Worst offender of this is Kohaku, he got screen time many times and each time he commited awful crimes under the influence of Naraku. It was tragic at first, but every time he came and did the same thing I got less and less sympathetic and more and more pissed and by the end Kohaku became my most hated character of the anime.

Speaking of characters there were some brilliant ones. Kikyo was interesting, Kagome was likeable, Jaken was hilarious, Rin and Sesshomaru's relationship was awesome, but above all else I loved Kagura. I don't remember liking a villain that much in recent anime, but she was my favorite character of the anime. She was killing people left and right, but as they were background characters I didn't mind much and her selfishness was refreshing since she had clear motive that I could get behind (being free of Naraku) and she wasn't the goody two shoes character most of the main cast was. She was the biggest reason I didn't drop this anime.

However for every great character there were two awful ones. Koga and his lackeys as well as Shippo could have well not been there at all and the story wouldn't have changed. Inuyasha was annoying indecisive mutt with nonsense power ups. Sango had the potential to be a badass chick, but in every fight she was relegated to the role of killing small fry. Even when she went on her own in an episode, she still had to be rescued by Inuyasha.

Overall, it is an average shonen anime with bits and pieces of quality, hindered by all the shonen tropes. The story is way too protracted and the main cast always resolves the conflicts in the same way without actually losing anything meaningful. I really wat to know how it will end for Kagura and Rin/Sesshomaru so I will watch the final act.

My favorite character, Kagura, isn't even here, Sesshomaru's gang had minor roles and Kikyo acted like a bitch. And those characters are the only thing keeping me interested in this series. 204 Itazura na Kiss
Oh the pain. I thought this was going to be a decent anime since it went past the usual high school confession part and into their adult life, but the story was subpar and the characters were just dreadful. Ken was almost decent, but he almost forced himself on Kotoko once, Yuuki was infuriating, always spouting the same lines over and over again. The entire supporting cast was shallow and/or annoying. As for the main pair: they were the worst part of this anime. Kotoko was physically incapable of anything and dumb as a rock. Irie was just an abusive cunt who at first treated a girl he barely knew like she didn't exist. Then he treated a girl he liked like crap. Then he treated his wife even worse up to the point when she ran away from home crying. All this time I was hoping that Kotoko would finally understand how much of a cunt Irie is and left him, but she was too dumb. He became more bearable by the end of the anime and that's the only reason I gave this more than 1, but since I had to force myself through 3/4ths of it to finally see him treat his own wife half-decently, it doesn't amount to much.

This was bloody gorgeous. I loved both seasons of this, but Kako-hen takes the cake. The development of the relationship between Nanami and Tomoe was always the strongest point of this anime, but here it's even more pronounced with all the unnecessary parts cut out. In fact the only time I felt the quality dipped was in the ending of episode 4, where it tried to tie everything into one knot, but it didn't make much sense (Tomoe cured by a pin, the contract should've been invalidated since he promised to marry Yukiji specifically). If not for that, I wouldn't have hesitated to give it the perfect score. Something I haven't done in years.

243 Kaze no Tani no Nausicaä
First of all, it has aged quite well. Unlike Akira which came 4 years later, the characters in here don't look ugly, though many of them look similar. Especially men with beards. They all look the same.

First half of the movie was very enjoyable because of Nausicaa, when she was doing cool stuff like charming massive insects, flying around on her glider and murdering a handful of soldiers who killed her father. However later on she just became a standard Ghibli heroine going around advocating peace at any cost, which made her quite boring and unlike in Mononoke Hime, a movie which this one is compared a lot, none of the factions were interesting. All humans were selfish warmongers believing they are better than others and the insects weren't interesting either. That made for quite a boring second half of the anime and many asspulls (like the very end miracle) weren't helping either.

The animation and art is top notch as usual, but the characters are dull and the story is boring and sometimes unnecessarily hard to follow. A jump into a new scene and you are left wondering if this is him dreaming again, is this a timeskip and where on earth is he? 247 Kimetsu no Yaiba
Superb presentation, between the stellar animation, great soundtrack and really fast pace for a shonen. During the run of the anime, however, cracks did appear in the anime as side characters are very one-note (even if I found the boar-man funny) and the plot itself doesn't try too hard to explain itself. It says that demon-hunters are simple mortals opposed to nearly-indesctructable demons, but then it throws in 'breathing techniques' to make demon-hunters very much unlike normal mortals. Nezuko's unique situation while interesting is not explained at all - why is she suddenly dumb, why is no other demon capable of recognizing their own family while she is able to? The hypnotic-suggestion put on her was an interesting plot point (kill demons, protect humans) until it was bent immediately when it could've caused troubles (when they met friendly demons). Also episode 19 was a trainwreck, a retconned ability which allowed Tanjiro to 'beat' a demon that he had no right to beat, while, simultaneously, Nezuko awakened blood-rites to keep Tanjiro alive. I am glad next episode showed the demon escaping this attack, but it was still dumb.

Overall a pretty enjoyable anime, but I couldn't ignore the flaws in writing.

First of all - watching this in a bad quality is a terrible idea. It had some amazing art and it was ruined for me because I had to watch it terrible quality. Maybe when it's out in 1080p I'd rewatch it again. Since that is not the anime fault and I was torn between giving 7 and 8 I will give it the better score with trust that it actually is even more enjoyable than I saw it. The story was pretty simple, but it was done in a pretty emotional and satisfying way that I have no big issues with it. The worst issue with the movie for me was a slow beggining. It didn't actually grab me until half of the time and when it did there was less than a hour left to enjoy. That's an issue I have with movies pretty much in general though, but it was particularly the case in this one.

In short: Is this the best anime ever? No, but it definitely is enjoyable. I wish I had waited for the 1080p though.

It felt like the anime had nothing else but the initial idea of connecting people through wounds. It wasn't done for any proper reason, but for idealistic "world peace" that they might achieve by torturing dozens of kids. The characters weren't interesting, except for Nori, but she wasn't original or anything, it's just that I have a little thing for seemingly emotionless and tragic heroines. The love chain Nori<->Agata<-Chidori<-Tenga<-Niko was basically copied and pasted from Ano Nattsu de Matteru. A nerdy main character and a girl that doesn't fit the whole group, then a childhood friend that likes said nerdy character, then that childhood friend is liked by a tall dude and he's liked by a quirky girl. And the worst part of the anime was the conclusion. So much cheesyness and everything was pretty much resolved through friend-power. Overall it was an awful anime and if Nori wasn't there I'd have dropped it way sooner.

Kanna was really cute, Kobayashi is interesting and somewhat relatable and Tohru can be hilarious at times. Amazing movie. It's been a few years since I've read the manga, but I seem to have liked the movie much more than it. The visuals are beautiful, the story is both dramatic and feel-good and the characters well-written. No one was 'the bad guy', rather many of them were cunts while they were children and everyone dealt with the problems that caused in their own way. 264 Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2
Still entertaining, but since comedy relies a lot on characters quirks and they went with no new ones for season 2, it didn't feel as fresh as S1.

265 Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kono Subarashii Choker ni Shukufuku wo!
It was pretty much reduced to Kazuma demanding minor sexual things of all the girls around him. It was really stupid, but it was pretty entertaining at times.

266 Kore wa Zombie desu ka?
If it only had the gags, it would probably have been quite enjoyable as it's comedy was actually quite amusing (Chainsaw magic girl that's not a girl, superglueing a person back together backwards). However with the gags and utterly cliched ecchi stuff came pretty serious moments which I just couldn't take at face value because of the stupidity of the show. As such the anime became something that is neither good for light and fun watching, nor for a serious and interesting experience and I will not continue. Also harems are just stupid.

Decent anime. Drama was a touch overdone, but it wasn't too bad for me and the main girl was okay. However I thought that reconciliation between her and her mother was stupid considering how much of a bitch she was to her.

268 Koukaku Kidoutai
Great movie, appreciated it much more when watching the remake, cause I wasn't as sleepy at the time. Interesting philosophical questions and I liked this version of Motoko so much more than the one in SAC. Also the animation looks fantastic.

269 Koukaku Kidoutai 2.0
Great movie, but since it is a completely unnecessary remake with the exact same story, but with CGI that don't look any better than what was in the original movie. On top of that the CGI wasn't integrated well and the contrast between it and the original scenes was pretty shocking.

270 Koukaku Kidoutai Arise: Ghost in the Shell - Border:1 Ghost Pain
Decent watch, but the art is nowhere near up to par to the SAC or the original movie, character backgrounds are inconsistent with SAC, which makes me much less interested in them and the worst part is that Motoko doesn't even feel like Motoko I know and love. Way more naive, less badass and with her design being so different, she feels like an entirelly different character.

272 Koukaku Kidoutai Arise: Ghost in the Shell - Border:3 Ghost Tears
How much can you destroy an iconic character? Well this movie tried really hard. Instead of her usual calm, collected and utterly badass self, here she was a teenage brat in a cheesiest romance ever. The sheer fact that she pouted was enough to make me seriously angry. I am talking about Motoko of course.

273 Koukaku Kidoutai Arise: Ghost in the Shell - Border:4 Ghost Stands Alone
The plot was pretty weak, but for the scene where a bitch said: "You can't do anything to me, this is a pacifist country" and Motoko shot her dead the next second, I can give it the standard for the Arise series.

274 Koukaku Kidoutai: Shin Movie
The plot was much too shonen-y for Ghost in the Shell (Evil Motoko as a villain, Motoko going alone and then at the exact moment she was about to get killed, her unit came and saved her), but the action scenes looked quite good so I wanted to give it a standard Arise score of 6, but the ending which was copied so blatantly from previous instalments of Ghost in the Shell made me lower the score.

275 Koukaku Kidoutai: Stand Alone Complex
It was a rollercoaster of liking and not liking this anime for me. I expected great things from it, but aside from few individually good episodes, by the middle of it I was pretty disappointed and it took me weeks to go through 13 episodes. Then the second half really grabbed me and by the penultimate episode I thought it was a very solid anime, however I felt that the ending was a real copout (especially with Motoko's fake death) so I didn't really like it. Overall the story was pretty poor in my opinion aside from a few episodic side stories, but the characters were interesting. I liked Batou a lot and Motoko was awesome, but although I feel she was more beautiful in SAC, I loved her design way more in the original 1995 movie, her eyes were haunting. Also her character was way more mysterious in the movie.

Overarching plot is much more interesting than in the first season, probably because they focused on it more rather than on individual cases spanning one or two episodes each. Also even when completely unrelated character episodes came (Paz's, Saito's and Tachikomas') they were quite interesting (not Paz's though, that was shit). Also I loved the fact that Major was portrayed more like an actual human being this time around (with her backstory and her mistake) rather than a perfect slutty cyborg that she was in season 1. The things I didn't like were mostly with the side cast of section 9 (other than Aramaki, Togusa (who was a bit of a dunce in this one), Batou and Motoko). They were only there to fill the numbers and even if they some of them got time for themselves (in their individual episodes) it felt forced into and completely irrelevant to the story at hand. Also the newbies they took were there for the sole reason of making Motoko's mistake seem actually important. Overall though, I felt this was a big improvement over season 1.

278 Koukyoushihen Eureka Seven
It's okay I guess. The story was pretty shaky: Renton being able to pilot Nirvash just because, main crew has thick plot armor, lot of filler episodes and the characters were mostly awful. They either acted like assholes to Renton for a significant periods of time (Eureka, Holland) were annoying (Renton, kids) or were just plain (most of Gekkostate). The only three characters I liked were Anemone, Charles and Ray and the latter two had very limited time.

The few things I really liked from this anime were it's character designs and the fact that it is a long anime with an ending. That type of anime is quite rare, especially nowadays.

It wasn't unwatchable and I didn't force myself to finish it, but I didn't really have any drive to know what happens next and now that it is over I don't really miss it. I only give 6 because it is a longer anime and I appreciate it.

279 Koutetsujou no Kabaneri
Completely riddled with plot holes (blood flow in ep 1, station letting a completely unchecked train pass until it's too late, examinations lasting for days even though turning takes only seconds and so on) and unoriginal (felt like a mash-up between Attack on Titan (first half) and Guilty Crown (second half) with one scene directly taken from Berserk (Biba (Griffith) throwing Mumei (Casca) a sword and telling her to fight if she wants to live and later taking her into his faction). Also the fake death followed by two previously missing characters retaliation was so utterly obvious that the whole ending already went through my eyes the moment the train doors accidentaly (conveniently) opened. The only character that was interesting was Mumei, but only until she went (back) to being brainwashed by probably the worst villain ever, Biba. His motive could be summed up in one word: "butthurt" and the objective he had was essentially to destroy everything. What baffled even more was the undying loyalty of his subordinates. At least Mumei was brainwashed, when the others were completely aware of Biba's plans and still went with him, most of them sacrificing their lives in the process. The ending had the chance to at least be logical. They had one vial of white blood for two people, which should've left the MC to die after he saved the girl, but no, they pussied out and they both ended up living, following the weirdest flip of character in Biba. Oh and the kamehames that some higher level zombies dished out made literally no sense. All in all, it was a horrible anime, that had a little enjoyment value in the first half so I ended up watching it till the end.

Didn't see a lot of interesting things in the anime at all. Main heroine was cute at times but it was offset by a lot of retarded moments (like saying ole all the time). Didn't like the crossdressing dude either and all sisters in sisterhood were just annoying. On top of that, fashion and makeup really doesn't interest me at all, so almost all of the show already goes out of the window. Surprisingly, there was a few minor characters I liked though. Shuu and Shouko's interactions were interesting and Hanamori was hilarious (she's dead? lets bolt). Don't think I'd have finished the anime if it wasn't so short.

Overall - Not exactly for me, but the romance(s) made me curious.

Crapbaskets. Overall plot was going nowhere, every heroine had a few episodes to them after which they weren't relevant anymore. Kyousuke was okay-ish, Masato and Kengo were incredibly annoying and Riki, oh god Riki. If I had a top 5 most annoying anime characters he might just take the top place, though he would have to battle Suzaku (CG) and Yuuki (MN).

What an anime. One of the greatest original worlds, with great character interactions, interesting story that has unexpected twists and many more dark spots than I'd expect from the art. Production quality is also really high, with unique art style, great animations and beautiful soundtrack. I want more of this and the only thing that keeps me from writing it a 10/10 is it's lenght and the fact it didn't end.

The story was decent until last arc where it kinda went to hell, most of the things weren't properly explained and the MC was so overpowered that it was obvious that he'd prevail at anything he tried to do. He is the one who made me love this series however. His unconditional devotion to his sister and his sheer badass levels were really enjoyable to watch.

297 Mahoutsukai no Yome
The premise of Chise and Elias learning from eachother was very interesting, but a big part of the story can be summed up pretty simply: Chise helps someone, gets hurt in the process and then someone helps her. Rinse and repeat. While the ways of her helping others and the variety of the characters kept the story quite interesting despite the formula being reused, Chise, as a character, got boring. Her only motivation was to 'help someone in trouble'. Now that's something that is present in most anime I've watched and it is not enough for a main character. Elias, on the other hand, was much more interesting: I thought he'd end up as the 'get out of jail free card'. A protector, who can do anything and who always solves the problem with minimal effort. However he did make many mistakes, in his efforts to solve the problems and once he tried sacrificing Stella, it felt like a child screwing up, not because he means ill, but because he doesn't know any better. But with much more dire results.

Overall, it was an anime with it's own unique flavor. I am not even sure if I liked it, but I appreciate the uniqueness. I knew I wasn't watching the same thing I've seen dozens of times, dressed in a different color.

Another Ghibli "Masterpiece" with the same heroine and dull story. I don't really get the boner that people have for these kind of movies, but they are probably just not for me. It wasn't interesting, it wasn't funny (outside some antics from the cat) and I felt like I wasted two hours of my life.

The art and animation were great as usual though. If anything I cannot argue that Ghibli shines in them.

E: Much less harsh opinion the second time round, but it is still quite dull a story.
