You are so beautiful, in your own special way.
You are the coolest, I notice it every day.

Six inch high rainbow shoes,
Smiling at anyone who can't share your views.
Happy face screwed on tight,
feeling subdued just isn't right.
Weighted down to just end up graceful,
but then targeted by people who are hateful.
Brightest smile to ever be seen,
giving our world a glimmering sheen.
Absolute brightness leaking from your eyes,
looking at all of us as if we were a prize.
We didn't treasure you 'til you were an angel,
months after that day that was fatal.

My dad really was messed up. I said I never wanted a realationship, I didn't mean for him to die. I feel like such an un-grateful child. I want to die now too.

Softly, I play the notes.
One after another after another,
All building, working, striving to make the song work.
And they do their job perfectly.

The music builds,
The tempo races,
Like A child told it only has minutes left to play with it’s best friend, or favorite toy.
I feel my arm get tired, but I ignore it.

It comes to a crashing halt,
And when it starts again,
The notes are cold, staccato.
All played low and dangerous.

Then, it’s quiet.
The notes are still there,
But muffled.
I don’t know if it’ll be light again.

With a turn of the page,
It becomes a smidgen lighter.
Just a tad bit louder.

It softens,
And relaxes.
The song becomes soothing.
But there is still an undertone of…
