| Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet is a show in which people live on very big navy ships, on an ocean-covered planet. That means you'll have a bunch of sailors, navy captains, and so on... (of course, you also have people with other jobs/occupations as everyone lives on these ships). The show is mecha/sci-fi/action but also has a decent amount of mystery and slice of life moments, one of my favorites original anime overall :) |

| Take these with the forewarning that I have yet to watch them myself so I cannot actually vouch for if they are any good, but I stumbled onto both of these recently while trying to see if there were any other anime like Zipang that showed a Japanese perspective on the Second World War. Both are focused on the naval campaigns in the Pacific so I would like to hope they meet your search criteria, but my apologies in advance if they turn out to be a waste of time...
