Any manga that deals with the death penalty in Japan?

It surprises that although death penalty is still used in Japan nowadays (although not as often as in the United States), the topic of death penalty is almost never brought up in manga or anime. The closest I managed to find was Deadman Wonderland and Danganronpa.

Are there any anime or manga which feature the death penalty in Japan?

I think most prison manga, and prison escape as D.W. that you mention, I have read use it as the menace to avoid.

Mori no Asagao is not translated and Ikigami is not really about death penalty but a dystopic concept and there is also the final twist.
