I forgot the name of this manga

An A-rank adventurer went to a remote place with a small town for a mission. There he encounters a normal person who turned out to be a retired S-rank in hiding. Then there was an attempt to kill that A-rank by some enemies with a huge creature, but the S-rank ends up saving him. The S-rank used a scythe as his weapon.

This was a manga with only one season and also probably less than 100 chapters. Both characters were men. There was no fanservice, I don't think there were even any girls in this one. From the tone of that S-rank I think he lost something memorable to him in that remote place.

The art style was also not like today's full hd or something but I think it was colored. Can someone please help me find this one, even if there is something close to it?
