| God I've missed you, Monogatari... They sure did get through the first 8 chapters pretty quick, but it's fine they added plenty of text in the color frames to convey Hanekawa's thoughts, and took their time with the right scenes(any dialogue between Hanekawa and Senjougahara) except for skipping a couple of jokes, but there should be plenty next episode. The OST in the beginning was absolutely perfect for Hanekawa and her home life, outstanding job. Was a bit odd to leave out her parents, but then Shaft likes to do that and it works for Monogatari. Like the classroom being empty to our eyes, keeps the focus on her remarking "I actually called it my home". I do wish Hanekawa had more text thoughts in reference to Rumba, since it was the only sense of "home" she was able to find there, just because it always woke her up. Can't leave this out, goddamn Senjougahara was sexy, I have zero problems with the long hair and her "new" personality is still charming as ever. Lol I knew that's where they'd end the episode. Didn't expect Hanekawa to be smiling when she answered though. |

| ITS HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEREEEEEEEEEEE. Too much Hitagi omg <3. Hitagi crying and slapping Hanekawa, damn. Lol at her wanting to take a bath with Hanekawa. She obviously wants to fondle Hanekawa's big assets. So Hanekawa still likes Koyomi huh.... Well, not like she will win over Hitagi. I wonder where's Koyomi. I wonder why are people screaming "yuri" all over the place. Hmm... b.s. Great episode overall. It felt like 5 minutes for me! I love the ED. Can't wait for the next episode. P.S Hitagi best girl no matter how long her hair is. |

| Yeah it's back! Senjougahara = hot. The crying and slapping was unexpected and is a huge gap from her usual character. Hanekawa looks good too and the tiger was cool. I also wanted to see and hear Araragi. Looking forward to the next episodes. Also Happy Birthday to Senjougahara-san. :D |

| it's been a long wait besides the OVA from Jan for the next Monogatari! been hyped for this and blood lad overkill of head tilts to start off the season lol,so i take it most of the season will be covering hanekawa? if so she has a lot of material to cover! still bummed about the amount of short hair but i'll live with it. |

| This is something I've been thinking about since Nekomonogatari Kuro...doesn't it feel like the director is abusing his style just a little too much right now? In large part Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari have been successful because of his eccentric style, but the whole shifting back and forth on the angles of characters, deliberate distortion of faces, plus cut-in panels feels a bit unnecessary and excessive at times. Like, we get it. It's at a point where it interferes with the viewing experience. Other than that, looks like after they went for tease incest in Nise, they'll be going tease yaoi here. Senjougahara is as awesome as ever, although slightly off character with her seeming obsession with Hanekawa?...This season seems like it will center on the two heroines and their coming to terms with how to be with Araragi. |
| I was quite disappointed by this as a first episode. Senjougahara's personality has been changed to make her more silly and immature, which doesn't fit her character. Also, and I know this bit is more about personal preference, I like my girls with long hair. Why do they feel the need to cut everyone's hair short? Very little happened in this episode and I would have liked to have seen a glimpse of Araragi, at the very least. I really liked the first series, (well, bake-, nise-, neko-... I think that's one series...) so I hope this one picks up a bit. I'll try to mourn the tragic loss of Hanekawa and Senjougahara's beautiful long hair just for tonight, then move on. The artwork was, as always, exemplary. Definitely nice to look at. The way it's drawn and animated is surely a sight to behold. Episode 1: 7/10 (It was bumped up from 6 to 8 for that delightful closing song, Ai wo Utau - Haruna Luna, but then bumped back down to 7 because I was in a mood after not being able to find an MP3 for it.) |

| At first I was thinking "wtf why did Senjougahara cut her hair?" but toward the end of the episode I realized it didn't even matter. I never thought I'd see her get all emotional like this though. Good episode. |

| Here's what I think. The Tiger did not burn down the house, but was just a catalyst. I think it was Hanekawa/Bakeneko herself who burned it down. Looks like come of Araragi's personality is rubbing off of Senjougahara. I honestly thought that "I want to see your naked body" is something that our beloved pervert Araragi would say. Goddamn, Senjougahara's body is perfect. Araragi is so damn lucky Hitagi finally got rid of her Androphobia. I'm guessing Araragi is doing something related to Mayoi or a Kaii related to Mayoi. Hitagi and Tsubasa are the BFFs forever and also their worst enemy is each other. Tsubasa already lost though, but still. |

| Felt rushed, but within permissible limits. I think Monogatari is the only harem series where I actually lament the absence of the MC. Not to say that Hitagi isn't fantastic, she is, but I do love me some Araragi. |

| I am glad to see that they kept style from the first season. It also looks like we will get different openings per arc again, great! This episode was a good start, the only thing I missed was Araragi.Oh and I can't wait to see Nadeko again. |
