| A few reasons I can think of: 1. His design. I am not a fan of this but it's obvious that CLAMP's noodle bodies are popular and people like them. And he's a bishie. 2. He is a leader. Extremely theatrical and charismatic, he will make an impression pretty easily on the viewer. 3. He is ambiguous. He has heroic purposes but uses villainish methods. He destroys people but cares for them. There is a strange conjunction of extremes in the character and this is, in general, very likeable. 4. He is a tactical genius. Okay, his tactics may seem childish, but the question is that the show genuinely portrays them as smart. Which adds another source of coolness. 5. He is also relatable in the sense that his tactics do not always work and have unexpected consequences. So we have a cool character who never feels too distanced from the viewer while still retaining everything that makes him look admirable. 6. Speaking of that, his many flaws in personality are about as plot relevant as his virtues, and cloud him, and make some of the best conflicts in the show (imo). 7. He is at the center of the action in one of the most liked shows of all times. 8. Everything in Code Geass is taken to an epic, big scale level that makes it easily memorable. And Lelouch is the epitome of all that. Those would be the reasons for liking him, which imply necessarily liking and getting invested in the show anyway. |

| Well for me...I really like good brother characters. Also Lelouch may be a good tactician however, he is far from perfect because he also make mistakes and never think that he can do everything by himself, he needs help. He gets scared, worried, sad,angry, feels bad with what he's doing and even though he's plan is often successful, he still doubt himself sometimes. And that's what makes him an interesting character for me, because he's not just that "Oh I know what you're thinking" over confident character who doesn't go through those emotions. |

| Code Geass is beyond amazing. If you get a chance, do watch it. DBZ, Naruto, Death note are some of the essential anime to watch for any anime fan. But Code Geass is not just essential, it is the holy grail of not just anime, but the whole entertainment genre. The plot of Code Geass is complex on its own, but that is the main driving force of the show. Nothing is simple. It is not your typical hero saves the world stuff. Each character in the show is flawed to perfection and the plot is interesting and cool, with loads of action. Lelouch acts as the central character and the reason fans love him is because he has the most realistic flaws, but still overcomes them. If you could compare him to one character in history, it would be Napoleon Bonaparte. He shares the same charisma, the intelligence and the leadership qualities as Napoleon did. And finally, his actions show why he deserve to be liked. Nothing speaks louder than what he does. That's all. |

| Lelouch while a top favorite character also has a lot of haters on here too. I really just recommend you watch the first 2 episodes. I firmly believe that if you're not hooked in the first episodes you won't like Lelouch or CG. Lelouch reminds me a lot like Light in some ways and has that same impact Death Note had with its first episode. Honestly you just have see for yourself because it's all rather subjective as to why or if lelouch is a good character. Also even if someone spoiled it for you just give the first 2 episodes a go. It's only 40mins :) |

| Lelouch is now the first character to have reached 100.000 favorites on MyAnimeList which is the internet's largest anime and manga datbase, his character is aesthetically appealing and his personality is very charismatic which makes a perfect combination. Code Geass is a masterpiece with really wonderful storytelling and overall environment. |

| Because his character has a lot of contradiction that fits perfectly in each situation or the character he interacts with and it was portrayed perfectly. He is: He is good looking He can cook Evil He has a cute side Smart Strategist He is manipulative but he doesn't take advantage of a girl's feelings towards him/people that care for him ( unlike coughs* a certain LY) Saviour Understanding He genuinely cares about the people who care for him He is cruel but he cries, he cries dammit he cries! He kills innocent and evil characters ( kills innocent characters either by mistake or because of a situation he has no choice) He can have fun A best friend He appreciates, he appreciates! He cares a lot for his little sister A good brother! He can forgive and forget (Rolo and Shirley scene) He is He plans to use his little brother but ends up genuinely caring for him He is arrogant He is humble He commits mistakes and accepts them and takes responsibility and keeps the burden of his actions. He is a grateful character He doesn't treat girls like trash His action at first was all for his little sister but as the story progresses he matured and his reason ended up for the greater benefit of everyone.
