Is there's enough material from the novels? Seems like they're ongoing.

I wonder if Studio Shuka would work on this, since the director of both, Durarara!! & Baccano! is directing the 2nd Season of Drrr, so he might work on Baccano in future. I did not hear any rumours though.

Since Durarara! is going to have a second season I don't see the reason why this shouldn't get a continuation in the future, I hope they do it

Omg I would love it so much if they did! I hate when they dont make 2nd seasons so they dont ruin the series, like its fine! I usually overlook bad stuff if I really like the series.

Yeah, I don't even think they'd ruin it since it's based on a novel, so the quality of the storytelling, characters etc. probably would remain the same. If the writers are the same, the director etc ,it'd be still good.

I'm almost 100% sure they actually announced one briefly (supposedly aiming for 1 month after durarara started airing), back before Durarara!! season 2 changed studios. Though haven't heard anything since.

Though it is my hope that the only reason they didn't confirm the season 2 after the studio-swap is because it's new studio and they want to focus on 1 project at a time, instead of trying to do both concurrently, and will hopefully announce Baccano season 2 once they've got the work on Durarara finished.

I've been telling people how I've been wanting another gritty stylish crime action drama so yeah Baccano! Season 2 would definitely fill that hole.

It only adapted 3/21 novels.

I heard baccano had extremely poor sales, so probably not.

But you can never know.

Btw, novels are amazing, so go read them.

God i would totally love to see a second season but unfortunately i doubt it. Aside from the fact that drrr! is much better known to the general populace, the baccano light novels are much more episodic. I mean you can totally read the grand punk railroad arcs separate from the 1711 ish mask maker arcs apart from the 2002 entrance/exit arcs apart from the 1932 ish arcs like Alice in jails / The slash though ultimately they are all wholly connected. Any director would have a really tough time in my opinion to spin something from this 'ruckus' :P. On the other hand durarara 1st season is now completed at 13 volumes and is written pretty much all chronologically and their is an overall back plot. Its a real shame because in my opinion i think the baccano novels are on the whole better, the whole story with mikado, masaomi and anri and later on with aoba kuronuma just didn't really cut it with me compared to shizuo, izaya, awakusu-kai :P.

Yes, once this question has been asked 100,000 times they will produce a second season. We're almost there so tell your friends.
I probably regret this post by now.

I feel Baccano ended well.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

baccano is a masterpiece.

It isn't. And the author hasn't written a new volume since one year and half even though we're in the middle of that main era's climax arc.

Anyway, to answer the op, probably never. Sales are very very poor compared to Durarara, and the first season didn't especially boost the sales so dengeki bunko is probably unsatisfied of the anime adaptation effect on that title.

Baccano isn't finished after 21 volumes so how can the anime adapting volume 1-3 ends well? Well, if you mean that they choose the right place to stop, then I agree. Even though they only adapted the beginning, stopping at that place was probably the best place they could stop at.

Well Mushishi got a second season after 9 years, so there's a slim chance that Baccano! might get one too. If it doesn't get one by 2017, then all hope is lost.

Western markets are important too. I'd say that if Bacanno got the Space Dandy treatment and it both aired in Japan and in America on Toonami, I can see the anime taking off.

Besides, I would like more anime set in the 1930s.
