| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- That...was epic. I've read the manga, so I knew what was coming, but the animation was BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely perfect "match" between Echizen and Kintaro, and even the Rikkaidai portions of the episode were amazing. |
| I've been reluctant to start the semifinals for the pure reason that I don't think I could handle the wait time between OVA releases. Though from what you have stated here, I might just change that up. |
| Well, with this episode, the Semi-finals are FINALLY over so no more waiting. Finals start in a few weeks I think! But yeah, the wait time for the finals is going to be killer as well. I can't believe Prince of Tennis still has about a year of episodes, only because we'll be getting 2 every few months. |

Well I just finished up the semi-finals, and I must admit, Kintaro and Echizen's match was well excited. The effects were a little too overboard for my taste, but entertaining nevertheless. |

| the last part with the splitting balls......prince of bullshit strikes again in this season, they started throwing in the triple jesus doors or whatever it's called and that killed me, because i wanted to see more strategy instead of more "my powers vs your powers" on the bright side, shiraishi was pretty hot and i had a lot of laughs especially in the comedic pair episode LOAD said: Also: did Nanjirou and Ryoma just leave the mom behind in America LOL this lmao |

| well I liked this episode the most among all semi-finals ! Animation was fast beautiful and exciting, not that ridiculous as I've thought it would be. Also wanted to see more of Rikkaidai's games-they are totally worth being a finalists! |

| Man, Akaya is such a badass. Definitely one of my favorite PoT characters, he can be such a psycho sometimes (or maybe all of the time? Heh...). Well, I actually have to be thankful to PoT for bending its own rules yet again and not seeing all five matches through. The one point match between Kintaro and Ryoma was way better than some rushed, hacked up 15 minute game that would have just been a tedious & inconsequential crunch against time. The build up to their match wasn't wasted and I feel satisfied with the result - assuming that this is the start of a new rivalry. Semi-finals really had pacing issues because of the 1:1 match to episode format. While it had its moments, I guess it's too much to have expected a new team to overtake the high stakes matchup of Seigaku vs Hyotei from last OVA. Still, the rematch with Rikkai Dai should definitely be promising and I'm excited to see how this nationals tournament concludes. 7/10 |

| Akaya was like dying during that match, but the referee is announcing scores like it was normal lol. Anyway, I still enjoyed this episode. That one-point match is intense btw. Will watch the finals later (─‿‿─) |

| This is probably one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen, but I'm enjoying it. It's hard to critisise it as a sports anime when I feel like I'm watching a battle shounen with Kirihara activating gear 5 on the court but yk |
