If I remember it's because Ask. took Thors' ship and everyone went on Leifs ship back to Iceland. Thorfinn then went on to stay on his father's ship because he didn't want to belive he was gone

I thinks it cause Thors and Asklaad fought a duel and Asklaad broke the rules of a duel as he asked his men to shoot arrows after he was losing to Thors, bcuz of that he promised Thor’s that he’ll let everyone else live.
