I have no idea why it isn't that popular, but this is the sorta romance that shows people love each other for quirky habits, it's very endearing!

This is literally one of my favorites! It’s so sweet and funny, it way to underrated I love Ōtani and Risa so much!

what I also like about this anime is that none of them had feelings for each other since they first saw e/o. and also how she was the one making the moves while normally its the guy. probably m fv shoujo

Honestly, yeah. They actually have fun together and their feelings develop over time.

I enjoyed the stop-start, back-and-forth way the relationship grew over time. It wasn’t a sudden all-at-once moment under a shower of cherry blossoms. One was trying, then giving up—the other would try…there was a messiness to it that felt a lot more realistic. Risa is an amazing character.

Their relationship pre-confession was great and that is what they could have just been for 24 episodes : a couple of friends with a very chaotic but friendly relationship. The romance part showed how Otani is extremely flawed to the point of frustration and how Risa can't just call it quits even there was nothing to be done (considering they get together because of the sub-teacher involvement).
