So, i just find out that this is the proper order to watch "Code Geass" for the central storyline is as follows:

1. "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" (R1)
2. "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" (R2)
3. "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection"

Watching it in this order will give you the complete and canonical story of "Code Geass." Any other code geass franchise that you will find are optional and provide alternative perspectives or additional lore but are not necessary to follow the core plot of Lelouch's journey.

In addition to the original anime series "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" (R1 and R2) there are also several movies in the "Code Geass" franchise. These movies can be a source of confusion when it comes to canon, as they are often adaptations or retellings of the original series with some changes.

Here's a breakdown:

1. "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I - Initiation"
2. "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion II - Transgression"
3. "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion III - Glorification"
4. "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection" (This movie is a sequel to the original series.)

The movies listed above are essentially recap movies that condense and sometimes alter the events of the original TV series. While they offer a different viewing experience and some new scenes, the core story remains similar.

In terms of canon, the original TV series "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" (R1 and R2) is considered the primary and definitive canon for the central storyline. The movies are an alternative adaptation and may include some changes, so they are not the primary source for understanding the main plot.

"Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection," on the other hand, is a sequel to the TV series and is considered canon as it continues the story. If you want to follow the central plot and characters, watching the original series and the sequel movie is the recommended path. The recap movies are optional for a different viewing experience.

That’s not the proper order. The right way is the first and second R and the movie is not worth it.

Nahh ! Resurrection isn't a direct sequel to orginal series . It's sequal of three recaps movies and that makes code geass ressurtion a alternative timeline movie to orginal series so basically it's set in alternative timeline and has no connection to R1 and R2 as simple as that ... ( U can search in Google and orginal creators of show have confirmed it )

The original series is, as others have said, set in a different timeline than Resurrection. That being said, you can still watch Resurrection if you want a
. And the only real change between the alternate timelines is that
.

I did not watch the recap movies before I watched the film and it did not matter much at all except for that one change. And I really enjoyed it as a
and CG fan.

There is also the Akito the Exiled OVA which canonically takes place between R1 and R2. It isn't entirely necessary, but it does provide some context regarding plot points in the latter part of R2.
