At this point I feel like I can answer my own question but I'm curious as to why the anime never returned since there is still much of the LN to adapt. I watched this a couple years ago and it's become a favorite of mine and even if it's not complete I would still love to see more. It's honestly like a top 3 anime for me I wish would return with a S2 someday along with 86 and Grand Blue but I'm sure this is the least likely to return out of them all.

well I have not read the LN, but I felt like the anime had a pretty final ending. Never really found myself wanting a second season

I wouldn't mind more, but I don't think it would have the same flavor if it was made today. If you want something similar, Durarara was made by the same studio and has a big cast of zany characters, crime, paranormal stuff and complex intersections of storylines. it's modern day Tokyo, and a few main characters are high schoolers, but it has a similar feel to it.

Why would it? It had a nice ending.

I much prefer that over milking it dry.
We need to allow stuff to end, again.

I agree it ended well, but the question is because there's a lot more content in the light novels that wasn't adapted.

Plus it would just be cool to get a modern adaptation

I heard the anime actually deviated a little from the light novels, so if the anime were to come back, it would probably be better for to be a reboot/second adaptation of the source material. That way, we can still keep the original anime and its ending intact, while also continuing animating what was left out, similar to how FMAB and Hellsing Ultimate continued adapting the rest of their respective mangas.

Yeah I would absolutely love if Baccano got the FMAB treatment because then there'd be more content and it would look better.

Plus maybe with the black characters looking a little less like caricatures😂

No, it's not going back. It's almost been twenty years.

You never know. FLCL did come back with new series almost 20 years after the original anime. Unexpected comebacks have happened before.

I really liked this anime. Still wondering so many years has passed and there's nothing about s2.
it's really sad for anime like this which is so underrated and under appreciate that it's in the categories of NEVER EVER SEQUEL.
