Probably been done before, but didn't find a recent topic for this.
I'm looking for some horror manga, but not the kind full of gore or gross-outs. I don't mind if there is some violence, but I don't want that to be the focus.
And nothing ecchi/hentai, please, or uber-weird/nigh incomprehensible.
Thanks for the suggestions, though a couple look on the uber-violent side...
For other ideas I'll throw out there, perhaps any good manga dealing with ghosts you know of, feel free to share. I was thinking of giving Ghost Hunt's manga a try, for example (since I liked the anime).
I like stories with spirits, and would also be interested in stories that deal with the concept of dream worlds. Or stories where the characters aren't sure what to believe is real, and perhaps those where there's some madness/insanity involved.

Uzumaki and Tomie are good, pretty non-gorey or violent ones.
Petshop of Horrors is a great one, exactly what you're looking for I think.
If you're okay with anime, then Hell Girl is one you should give a try. The manga adaptation is terrible.
Loop is a one-shot, pretty darn good and psychological.
Dragon Head is supposed to be pretty good, dealing with insanity and all that.
While Monster isn't an outright psychological horror, it is a great manga that you should read anyway.
Higurashi is a great horror manga, but there is gore. It's not in your face, it's usually brief and not lingered on, and it's fantastic on the psychological side.
