DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- ATTACK OF THE FRIED EGG Quite a charming story even if it did border on corny with the arrival of the phoenix, though my fears of ubercorniness mostly proved unfounded. Kept me fully entertained the whole time, I really liked Pincho in particular. |
| Awesome movie: animation was astounding (all the critters), there are interesting/ambitious shots everywhere (the training/the fight with the warden/the space battle/the apocalypse), the themes about the future of mankind/relationship with robots/quest of immortality are timeless. Tones range from serious to light-hearted including tragic, comedic, sad and cute. The score is very well-rounded. In the same way that Tezuka is a total artist, this movie is a total movie. And Black Jack as a space warden, best appearance ever. |

| What the hell was the ending....Made me cringe at so many levels. They were trying to imply a whole lot of mother-lover-robot etc. Even though their is lot of imagination but there is lot of nonsence too. What is even phoenix? From where the hell that equivalent exchange and rebirth came? Why do robot have feeling? What happened to the 2 timing girl? The plot is like a bunch of idea mixed together in mixier grinder. It was somewhat enjoyable but was trying to be too gullible. From osamu other works, It was not as bad as metropolis but its around the same level as those buddha anime. I hope the other entries in phoenix anime are better than this |
