When shouta's mum knocked him down the stairs I was so shocked the intake of breath actually hurt.
I was so mad when Shouta had to leave. That ending was so sad, I actually cried. I hope Yuzuyu and Shouta get to at least write to each other and stuff.
I just wanna say that Shouta's mom is EXTREMELY lucky Shouta wasn't taken away from her. If that were to happen here in the US, he would've been sent to a foster home or something.
"I am the bone of my sword,
Steel is my body and Fire is my blood,
I have created over a thousand blades,
Unknown to Death,
Nor known to Life,
Have withstood pain to create many weapons,
Yet, those hands will never hold anything,
So as I pray, unlimited blade works"
Another emotional episode, this is rapidly becoming one of my favourite shows. It was nice to see Kippei get some emotional support from Kokoro. At some point I hope he can return the favour.
Please don't feed the trolls!
In my next life I want to collide at the corner with the cute transfer student
carrying a piece of toast in her mouth...rodac
Yeah really hope the development with Kokoro goes deeper, honestly the romance between Kokoro and Kippei is pretty much not even their as of right now.
I'm surprised that he wasn't taken away by child services. He could've cracked his skull, but only got a concussion. Shouta's father is also an asshole, but that's no excuse to hit a child.
Why does it always take an accident or similar to make the people around realise what they're doing wrong... quite a tragic episode, but hopefully now they'll have a better life! Lets see what's next, this small arc with Shou-chan was pretty nice actually!
WTF!?! I really hated this episode! It was like kept trying to make us empathise with this abusive stupid awful excuse of a mother?! No it doesn't make her actions any less awful just because her husband is an insensitive fool and there's a bit of gossip around her! She should have stood up for herself if the husbands actions really hurt her that bad.
And I hated how she just kept feeling sorry for herself after Shouta fell unconscious. She worried more about what she'd become than if how badly he was hurt.
I don't like that he's staying with her. If she could let such small things get to her enough to beat her child, it could easily happen again. Hope the grandparents will be able to do something to stop her if she feels like doing it again.
I think this is a perfect reflection of Japanese society with the whole ostracizing and judgement, the nail that sticks out spiel. And the stress that cause on her all through his growing up process really sucked being a stay at home mom with no support or help. Glad they were able to find a solution though and it's a bit heartbreaking when you realize how common it is and that it takes a while for people to figure these things out.
Wow. Another very strong episode, this time it was even more intense. When Shou's mother hit him and he fell down the stairs, I was straight up shocked. Seems like she's going to try to change now, so that's good. Shou's moving, which is unfortunate, but oh well. Good episode.
this was definitely a good episode, so much so that i'm considering to bump my score up to a 6 just because of this. really liked the whole situation regarding shouta and his family.
