Bungaku Shoujo to Shi ni Tagari no Douke is probably one of the best mangas I've read in a very very long time. It touches your heart and it's overall, a wonderful thing to read.

Story- 10
At the age of 14, a boy named Inoue Konoha won an award for writing a best-selling book. He is labeled as a "mysterious bishoujo author" and sick of all the praise, he has a breakdown and vows never to write again. That, is until he starts high school. He witnesses a girl, Touko Amano, literally eating up a book. Since nobody else could find out about her secret, he ... is forced to join the Literary Club, and write small stories for Touko to eat every day. Everything seems to be going fine until Touko puts up a box claiming the literary club could solve their problems, which is how the emotional tale begins.

Art-10
The visual appeal is stunning. In my opinion, if the visual appeal in a manga is good, it helps bring out the emotions in a story. Kousaka Rito, Takeoka Miho definitley do a great job in the illustration of the light novels.

Characters-10
The art, like I said, is very beautiful. The characters are very easilly likeable, many give off an aura where you want to sympathize with them and tell them that everything will be alright. The characters' backstories help you understand the way they behave much better.

Enjoyment- 10
This is a beautiful story, with beautiful art, and beautiful characters. The story is like nothing else I've read before, and makes it almost impossible to stop reading. Considering the high score I've rated it, I hope that you too will find enjoyment in this stunning series.

I was almost tempted to give this series a 9, but I couldn't compare it to the other series I had read that I gave the same score to.

"Bungaku Shoujo" to Shi ni Tagari no Pierrot, or Bungaku Shoujo, is a manga series about a boy who wrote a romance novel under the pen-name of Miu Inoue. One day, at school, he meets a girl eating the page of a book. She says she's a "Literary Girl" and eats books like people do. This manga has a simple premise, but turns out to be something much deeper, driven strongly by the characters and their ... motivations.
This manga was so different to what I expected, that I raced through the chapters as I read them, surprised by how interesting it was.

The art is visually appealing, but not stunning. Characters and environments are nice to look at, and the art style very much suits the group of high school students.

[Character: 8]
Given that the manga is piloted by the characters, you would expect them to be good. They are foreshadowed by thoughts throughout the manga of a character questioning whether they are really human or not. This theme is followed throughout the entire series, leaving the reader questioning who they really belong to.
Konoha serves as a good protagonist, initially unhappy with being roped into helping Touko by writing her stories, he eventually grows warm towards her and enjoys her company. We learn how he's been affected by his past and how it changed him in the story, as well as his reason for helping the other characters.
Touko is presented to be the main character by the title, but she's actually a secondary protagonist.Touko isn't developed too much in the story and serves to mainly be the catalyst that moves Konoha to act. As stated, he has his own reasons, but Touko sets him on the path.

When I started reading the manga, it took a while for me to get into it, but once I did, it was very easy to read. I completed it alongside another series over the course of a few days.

Overall, I give this series an 8. It's completely worth reading, and will surprise you by how deep and intricate it is.

I.... I'm not entirely sure where to start on this one, so I'll just jump head first on into it like the characters in this manga.

Story- 4
Okay so essentially the main storyline here is depressed former writer guy meets girl who literally eats books. OOoooooo interesting start, but it soon changes from a romance story to a mystery manga. Like why is this manga so popular is the mystery. Not a lot of twists and turns, you can expect what the ending will be from the very beginning of the manga. Do be warned, its really dark (and by that I mean really emo dark ... not actual dark).

Art- 8
Actually this is probably the best part of this manga, the artwork was really good! I honestly liked the characters physical designs.

Character- 4
If you like a main character who is so emo that he blares fallout boy while swiping his hair over his eyes and paints on fake black tears onto his face and wrists to hide his cut wrists, then this is the manga for you! Be prepared for lots and lots of awful character drama from this manga. No misunderstandings, but lots of emo drama and angst. LOTS.

Enjoyment & Overall -6
I did not enjoy this one, and Im writing this review to warn others of this manga. It is not spectacular in any way and is actually rather boring what with all the emo-angst. This one is not for me, but if you like angst then go for it, by all means.
