I probably enjoyed this more than I should have because I was into student/teacher relationships when I read it.
If you take out the student/teacher context, the drama quality is still relatively enjoyable.
Each page is conductive to the story, with images and dialogue that effectively tell the story. Thru small details, we're treated to a glimpse into both of the characters' psyche - which I think was pretty cool.
The art is not the most amazing or special, but it's expressive, and conveys the tone and nuances perfectly.
I quite enjoyed the characters. Their personalities, motives, and emotions are all very justified - except
...
maybe the teacher's reason for his unrequited love. But hey, life happens - attraction throws you a curve ball and the next thing you know you're crying on your knees. ...does this count as a spoiler if I'm using an analogy? Eh.
Everything written above was for the first story.
The second story was... pretty interesting, at best. I wasn't as invested in it. Still, effective use of panels and framing - I can practically Feel the sexual tension. Sweat. Neck. Drowsy, glazed eyes...
But perhaps the thing I enjoyed the most about the second story was how 'real' it was. It was a rather realistic in its portrayal of a mature love.
Overall, it's a good read. It's not particularly amazing, but it certainly delivers itself quite well. :)
