Time has been good to her. She has just kept getting better looking. I wasn't able to see her perform until recently. What a delightful surprise. Beautiful woman, beautiful voice!
Joan Baez my brothers and I knew (from a distance) in the late 1950's and early '60's as a pretty Cambridge (Mass. U.S.A.) girl singing great folk songs at Club 47. She was fabulous (along with others we heard), and was getting famous fast. So we all got guitars and my Dad taught us a few chords to start. Back in the sixties Joan Baez was giving a concert on British TV. I had never seen her before. During the second song I was up and out the door running to the nearest phone box, a half mile or so, to call my elder sister to make sure she didn't miss this concert and the amazing voice this young woman had! Always loved the person that she is, the songs and that crystal clear voice!
Just sitting here in my lovely home town of Carrickfergus. I’ve heard many versions of this song - Once as part of a cross-community trip to Áras an Uachtaráin at the kind invitation of Mary McAleese. This is definitely the best version …ever. Just wonderful. Thank you Joan ❤️❤️❤️

Yes, this is the most wonderful song - sung by one of the most amazing and beautiful voices of one of the most amazing and wonderful women on earth! I heard this song for the very first time today, but I've been a fan of Joan since the age of 15. One of my greatest wishes in life is to hear her live just one time.

I visited Ireland, Dublin to be exact, in 2016 and truly I'm still not over it....the version of this song from Boardwalk Empire absolutely kills me every single time I listen to it. Love from an Arizona desert.
When I was a young man over 50 years ago now a beautiful welsh girl called Wendy who we all called Blodwin used to sing this to me over the phone. Never forget the times and the memories of your youth.
When she introduces the song, she speaks slowly and distinctly so that the foreign audience in Slovakia could understand. So nice of her! A respect for the audience that is lacking among pop stars these days!
She also rolls her 'r's beautifully!! A truly wonderful rendition of that song. My musical and moral heroine for 54 years. I will never forget, at the age of 16 hearing 'There But For Fortune'. I have never judged anyone since. Much love to you, Dan, a fellow admirer.
Whoever it may be, the person that put this number by her in U Tube, should be congratulated and thanked, admired for the best sense. Thank you very much.

Being from Belfast about 10 miles from Carrickfergus, I've heard this ballad 100s of times but never as beautifully sung like this. And pronounced with Spanish pronunciation ☘
@@johncherry2205 Joan Baez' father was born in Mexico, thus the Spanish surname, but she was born and grew up in the United States speaking only English.
