Hello there! :) How is everything going?
hlwar Sep 18, 2011 3:37 PM
Hey it was nice to hear from you! So, I guess school started up again - how's the year been treating you so far? Good luck with everything! :)

Sounds like you had fun at summer camp, which is good. Why were they always yelling at you at ROTC camp? Hunh, SLS sounds like a really interesting and imporant camp; really a good idea and probably something you could put on your first job application. Eeeew, a live scorpion? O_o I admit, I'm a big old scaredy cat, so I'd probably freak out if I saw one. Although I've always wanted to learn to shoot and get shot at (blanks or otherwise)... weird, huh? (LOL)

Looking forward to seeing your Tendou artwork!! :D

Laters~

Yeah, I did!! <3 Thanks! Wow, really?? Haha, well, I went to both Anime Expo in Los Angeles (4 hour drive) and Ani-Jam in Fresno (30 minute drive). I sure was surprised at how small Ani-Jam was compared to Anime Expo. It was like, a HUUGE size-down. O_o

OH MAH GAWD, HE IS LIKE... Gosh he is just the sweetest guy EVER. He's so nice, he gives SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME hugs, too. <33

LOL! Don't worry, I'm forgetful too OTL|||

I'm GREAT! I recently went to my second EVER anime con, SOO MUCH FUN. >w<

Hello there :) I hope everything is well on your end :D

I'm doing well - just getting ready for school. How about you?
Mitsuki-chan101 Aug 20, 2011 10:30 PM
You're welcome, and wow, thanks!! :D It's nice to meet you. I go by Mitsuki. ^^ -glomp back-

Hihi! So sorry for the late reply. :(

Whoa, tornados! That's scary! I love extreme weather, but for whatever reason, twisters really terrify me - cool to watch (especially water spouts), but unfathomable to imagine being near one. Glad you're okay!!

Congrats on acing your last math test! Woo hoo!! So how's it feel to be outta school for the summer? Have you been on vacation yet, or picked up a job for the season? Let me know how you've been!

I don't know what Higurashi is, sorry. I don't read manga. *shrugs*

We miss you over at the Tokyo Majin fanclub!! And I'm still anxious to see your Tendou fanart. (^_~) Hope to hear from you soon!! Laters~

Hey! It's good to hear that everything has been fixed, and I guess it's not bad that all your new bathroom installations don't fit - if it makes it easier to find the toliet in the dark! (LOL) ^_~

Yep, summer is a'coming! I don't much care for sun, heat, and humidity myself, but right now I'm enjoying the spring weather. Everything has budded and turned green, and I love all the thunderstorms we've been having; April showers bring May flowers! :D (Although, I guess the severe storms haven't been as kind to the midwest... how devastating, all those recent tornadoes! Scary, too! o__O)

So how did you do on your final math exam? Good luck to you!! I always hated math; that and science were my least favorite studies, so I sucked at them. ~_~

I agree, I'm not a fan of anime being made into live-actions, but mostly because I'm not a big fan of Japanese films. I haven't seen the Death Note movies (even though I think the main actor is cute - loved him in the Battle Royale films XD) but they didn't look too good to me. I didn't like the concept of the third one - it definitely sounded too far out of the real story, which is kinda disappointing.

I wonder how the Hollywood remake of Death Note will fare... >.< The internationally co-made Blood: The Last Vampire was HORRENDOUS! But then, they haven't even finished the Akira remake after - what? 10 years now?! *shrugs* I heard they were doing Cowboy Bebop too, with supposedly Keanu Reeves in the lead.

Thanks for adding to the small pool of TM fanart! Can't wait to see more!! :D

Hello all! It's been quite awhile since our last newsletter, and the fanclub has died a bit since then; unfortunately, even our member count dropped. So I'm trying hard to add more FUN things, topics more on the lighter side of the dark anime.

What's currently NEW? Come vote in our silly new poll, Kyouichi's hair, or take the Online Quizzes, Tokyo Majin style!

Want some pictures? Member JuniorMintKiss and I are also working on a Screen Capture Gallery for the anime, and the stills are free for all. Do you use captures to make graphics or layouts? Are you skilled at Photoshop icons or banners? Share them with us! We'd love to see your Tokyo Majin works!

Be sure to stop by our forum because I know there's been new topics added since the last newsletter, too. But remember guys, the club needs its members to stay active - this means YOU. Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpucho: Tou is a highly underappreciated anime, so please show your support by keeping our fanclub alive.

Thank you!

You're welcome for the card! Take care of Misato-san! ;)
hlwar Feb 19, 2011 4:19 PM
No worries. It sure does sound like you had a lot on your plate, and a lot not-so-interesting stuffs to deal with. I hope life has settled down for you, and that you're able to enjoy the useful household necessities, like electricity and a toliet! >.<

Congrats on all your school activity success! Are you part of a drill team or something? Sorry, I was home-schooled through HS, and don't know much about social stuff. I plead ignorance. *shrugs*

I was amazed, we had a lot of snow here, as well. But this week we've had freakin' springtime! It was almost 60-degress and gorgeous - for February! It was so crazy, and now all the snow is melted. :(

You know, I've been thinking of starting that thread at the Tokyo Majin fanclub, about a live-action movie version. :D I agree with you, though; the special effects would probably suck. I'm not a fan of overly CGed movies, and Japan doesn't seem to make them that well... I think they put all their media funds into making anime. XD

Ooooh! You must get your TM fanart uploaded somewhere and show them off in the fanclub's fanart thread!! Do you have a DeviantArt account? You can post links, if that's easier. Or else you can upload them into Photobucket to share. Looking forward to seeing them!! <3

I'm sure you could find other stores like East Meets West; a lot of the gifts we sold were rather generic, almost cheap (especially the fantasy stuff).

(LOL) Well, maybe the manga for Tokyo Majin was girly because it was drawn by a girl. ;) I think Tatsuma actually looks a lot like Kamui from CLAMP's X, which isn't a bad thing. I don't like Kyouichi looking so immature and feminine, though; it really throws off his badboy attitude. Geh. Oh I agree, the game was super-boyish and the designs were square and rugged. The anime kinda went in-between and had a pretty but tough, edgy look.

Kaosu is in the manga (I have pictures of him up at the fanclub) but he's not technically Ryuuji Yashiro. And yeah, no Tendou. O_O In both the game and manga Aoi's Bodhisattva Eye isn't a plot point and not a big deal, so Tendou wasn't really needed for that (although in the game I believe he does kidnap Aoi, but not for that reason). Overall I dunno why the manga-ka left Tendou out of the manga. Maybe she thought there'd be too many villains?

Ahhh, Vic Mignogna. I typically do not watch dubs, but unfortunately for him I attempted to try Tokyo Majin in English and to be honest, not a fan. His voice on Tendou was ridiculously close to sounding like Gollum - which told me they were trying to make him sound like a Saturday morning cartoon baddie. (><) Never heard him do anything else, and others have told me he does best as the comedic sidekick, and not so rounded as to be good on bad guys. *shrugs* I really adored Anri Katsu as Tendou, and in my eyes nobody could beat his unique, smexy, and versatile voice!! :DDD

Chin up, girl! I do know Mr. Mignogna goes to a LOT of conventions, so you'll definitely have another opportunity to meet him! :D

It's not that I don't like those characters, I just have no clue who they are! o_O Which is obvious since I didn't even know they were real people. Sorry, I don't follow too many singers, and usually not females. Ballad type songs tend to be hit-or-miss with me, although I do admire good vocals. I was heavily into Broadway and show tunes when I was a teenager, so I appreciate good orchestrations and singers. These days as I get older I enjoy hardcore rock more, which would explain why I fell for ACID and DETROX. Amazingly I'm enjoying the punk visual kei group Villain, too.

By the bye, it's SNOWING here again! We're suppose to have almost 8 inches by morning! *sings Let it Snow*

Yeah, East Meets West was a privately owned store (not corporate or franchise) so it was unique to my area. We sold New Age and Wiccan stuffs, Native American themed items, fantasy, hippie, and Asian-inspired gifts. It closed down several years ago, though.

I haven't gotten to see Gundam Seed yet, and am a little intimidated because it's so dang long. Is it worth sitting through? I saw mixed reviews.

The Tokyo Majin original manga is okay, but a lot more girly than the anime or videogame. The "Ryu Ryu" post-production manga is even worse; the artwork makes everyone look chibi, and it's nothing more than a manga-ized version of the anime. Oh, and nope, no Kodzunu in the original manga, which I found totally weird because he has such a big role in the VG (similar to the anime, but with no backstory). The manga just keeps Yagyuu as the prime antagonist.

I hope you find it at A-kon though! I'm not one for conventions. I went to Otakon 2003, but am shy and too much of a wallflower to have had any real involvement. Too much noise and too many people, I started getting claustrophobic. The whole adventure of getting to Maryland, and the excitement of actually going was fun - and honestly, I wouldn't mind going to another. I'm just waiting for a good seiyuu or musical guest, particularly Nozomu Sasaki since I missed him at Sakura Con '09 - one of my life's greatest disappointments! ;_;

Oh man, I don't know any of those names, those characters you cosplayed as! Ack. o_O (LOL) That reminds me, there's a company in Japan that sells Magami Academy girls' uniforms on Yahoo Japan auctions... if you were interested in cosplaying Aoi. XD
