Izure Saikyou no Renkinjutsushi?

A salaryman is surprised to find himself summoned to another world by accident. With no way of returning to Earth, he receives the name Takumi Iruma, a different younger body, magic powers, and a fresh start in an unfamiliar land. To preserve his quiet life, Takumi settles in a local village and assumes the job of an alchemist, allowing him to create almost anything he desires. Making the most of his time, he explores his new abilities and even tames an unlikely pet.

However, Takumi decides to move on to a big city in hopes of improving his alchemy skills and business. As he keeps learning about his profession and gaining new connections, Takumi might just be able to become the greatest alchemist of all time.

If you like Isekai, or rather if you like trash Isekai (which lets face it is most isekai these days) then you will most likely like this.
If you don't like Isekai, or you want something with a great plot, great characters, a serious drama driven anime, then this is not for you, because this is trash isekai through and through.

This series knows what it is, it doesn't take itself seriously, it just wants to have fun

This series doesn't seek to do anything new, but that doesn't mean it's an Isekai paint-by-numbers, what it does it does well, it uses standard tropes, but its not copying ... other works wholesale, it does its own thing without seeking to reinvent the wheel

The pacing of the series is quite quick but it still works and flows well, the plot is there in the background to a degree that it doesn't get in the way of the series just having fun, instead it quietly ticks along to give you a little something extra and give you the sense that events are moving towards some inevitable end point.

MC is accidentally summoned to the world, he's made OP by the goddess to 'make up for it' but also because she has her own hidden reasons, MC rejects the idea of a combat job but intends to pursue crafting and alchemy so he can have a peaceful slow life... and now the stage is set for general isekai trash fun.
MC finds himself in a wood near a village (yes that trope) and saves a villager from harm (yes that trope) he's quickly welcomed into the village and soon learns all he needs, if you think his interactions here are strange, it does get answered later. We also have our first companion join, Maple.
Once we move to the city and are out of the starter area which is the midpoint of episode 2, we start to expand the cast of characters and our companion roster as the MC hires slaves, the system of which seems based on that of Ancient Greece, where they are more like servants than the modern view of slaves. We also get the usual isekai hijinks you would expect from a series of this type, making items from his old world to improve his daily life (I wish there was more of this but it is what it is) going on quests and adventures, and causing a certain level of chaos with what he does.

I'll get into the weeds on some points as there are some things that some people seem to have missed.

The series shows you at the start how skills are learned and progressed, which is a very simple system any gamer would be used to, you level up the skill by using it. It focuses on the MC learning the basics of the world, how to craft and produce materials, and he spends time levelling up, after that it is hardly touched on again mostly because showing you him constantly progressing his skills would be repetitive and boring and take you away from the heart of things, but there are enough scattered breadcrumbs to show he's still learning.
As for the toilets... Yes there is a big focus on toilets, Japan does have a toilet obsession after all, but if you were isekaied into another world and you had some of these abilities, you would quickly make yourself a proper toilet rather than what is essentially a cut-out hole in a plank over a hole in an outhouse leading to your cesspit...
The most realistic isekai's out there are those where the MC seeks to improve their living conditions by recreating 'home comforts' as well as recreating their home cooking and yearning for certain foodstuffs, getting homesick is one of the most grounded things that you can include in an isekai.

Is this the best series out there? No, it's not even trying to be the best. Nor is this the worst series out there.
This is just good trash fun, something you can unwind to and not think too deeply about.
it's entertaining, and that's all its trying to be.

This is good trash isekai, and I say that from a place of love for trash isekai.

This has all the ingredients that make a solid trash isekai in place and a unique-enough story. It's a lighthearted and enjoyable watch if you're looking to throw something on with all the tropes you would expect.

But at the same time there's nothing particularly special about it either. There's the standard OP main character that gets tossed into another world, gets stronger every episode, has a handful of challenges that are easily resolved, and minor struggles throughout. There's a fair amount of world building and some predictable character building.

If ... you like trash isekei, you'll probably enjoy this. If you're looking for something deeper or highly engaging, you'll probably want to give this a miss.

An isekai where there are 3 heroes summoned to another world by a kingdom using forbidden magic, and another soul that was mistakenly caught by the summon, which is granted special treatment by the Goddess (for a plot reason), as he shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Do you like a 40 years old man that gets isekaied and acts like a 14 y old boy all shy and cannot act normal?
Do you like having your MC having his status page at the end of episode 1 looking like the encyclopedia of skills in that world?
Do you like random time skips that sometimes don't ... make sense, so much time passing and barely nothing changing, even though before in a short time the MC was able to revolutionize the world?
Do you like unexplained stuff that you just take it like it is because why bother?
Do you like moments that should have been serious but are too dumb to take them seriously, but the anime really tries for you to take them seriously?
Do you like hyped moments that underdeliver by a long shot?
Do you like dumb and immature decisions?
Do you like repetitive magic spells like that world has maximum 2 spells for each element?
Do you like... meh whatever... I could go on, but why bother, you get the idea.

If you answered to most of those questions with yes, then go for it my man, get your knowledge of these types of animes, or maybe your fill... but me? I'm tired man... I'm tired... Thrash anime with basic plot that cannot even deliver the basics nicely enough for me to enjoy them... You would have guessed that by now, after years of companies making these kind of animes, they would finally know how to deliver at least the basics such that everyone can enjoy them, especially those that already watched something similar, which is not hard because there are always like 3+ animes like this every season... but I guess I'm wrong on that one.

I'll just get to the marking as at this point, I feel like I'm just starting to repeat myself when it comes to reviews for thrash isekais, especially the bad ones...

Story: 5 -- There's an overall story that pretty much will have its climax happen in season 2 (which let's be real for a second, has a damn near 0 change of getting it). The pacing is bad, the interactions are a lot like a really new, beginner actor's improv, too much sentimentality thrown and developed in the span of 5 blinks and 2 breaths, and conflicts that get resolved like I was solving my problems when I was 10, basically using my imagination of a 10 years old boy... Things that looked interesting, just made me ask questions to torment myself as none will be answered... basically a thrash isekai with underdeveloped plot, bad pacing and big plot holes/lines...

Art: 6 -- Art is pretty bad... most fights, if not all, are just 1 picture being shown for 1 second and then moving to another picture for 1 second, or if they actually show some movement in the fight, that means the fight will be done in a few seconds... In rest, ig it's basic thrash isekai art... one thing I would note is that the nose of the MC from the sides is sometimes looking hella weird to me.

Music: 7 -- Don't have any complains, but nothing memorable as well.

Characters: 5 -- As some would say, age is just a number, and God damn this anime really shows that. 40 years old acting like a bashful 12 y old, 80 y old having the personality of 3 sentences and one thought, jokes that are making me ???, especially when I see them repeating, interactions that are like between people that never communicated before with others and are full of anxiety, and the sentimental ones are just cringe to me with the way they are done and developed (if you can even say they are developed).

Enjoyment: 5 -- The more it went, the harder it was to watch, and the climaxes to conflicts were just letting me down with the presentation and build up...

I cannot really recommend this anime to anyone besides those that have time to lose. There are better thrash isekais that can actually deliver on their basic plot lines and make them somewhat enjoyable. With this one, I only felt like I was hoping they could deliver on the next conflict and make it all worthwhile, until they wouldn't and suddenly all the time I spent watching until that moment felt like lost time and lowered my expectations even more... which were not met anyway with the next conflict. It just began to feel like a drag. Save your time and search for something better, or do whatever you want, I ain't your mom.
