Masterfully crafted, and still stands the test of time today. While it has some shortcomings in regard to it's story, it's a treat to watch.

Needed to be longer, half the cast was never developed.

Some really great stuff here, showcases the brilliant minds of some of Japan's top anime directors. Personal favorite is Satoshi Kon's.

need to rewatch, but from my memory i didn't like how some characters were handled.

While barely having any action, Bakemonogatari manages to be engaging with masterful composition, witty dialogue and some of the most emotionally resonant characters the medium has to offer.

While Cowboy Bebop is impressive on a technical level, I never found myself engaged in either the story or characters.

At the peak of my anime burn out, this show was somehow still bingeable. Really fun, with some great visuals and animation by Trigger.

Consistently good, with one of the best endings/moments in anime for me. However I just don't love parts of this story that so many seem to adore (like the Roy fight, I felt nothing during that.) It has a lot of soul and a great concept/power system, but it just doesn't connect enough to me personally to become a favorite.

Maybe the first anime I ever watched. Fills me with joy every time I watch it.

dont get the appeal of this film that so many seem to get. The castle itself is a very creative set piece, and like every ghibli film Joe Hisaishi drops a masterpiece ost. Sadly I couldn't invest myself in the plot or characters.

Miyazaki's best. Underrated masterpiece.

While not as detailed in it's plot or art, Berserk 1997 manages to capture the manga's atmosphere and spirit perfectly. Spiritual, melancholic and at other times other-worldly, Hirasawa's soundtrack complements Berserk's world to the fullest. Might be the best adaptation we'll ever get and thats ok.

Will watch the rest one day.

I can tell certain plot lines and character arcs are a bit rushed, but the stellar animation from kyoani mixed with the beautiful soundtrack by Kensuke Ushio make for a great production.

Found it funny when I was 14, don't know if it's humor holds up for me anymore.

Incredible. Even if Megalo Box ended without any loose ends, Nomad manages to expand it's characters, and story in an emotional and introspective way.

saved me. The emotional catharsis I felt during the last episode is a high I'll be chasing my whole life. Such a simple message, but it resonated with me so deeply at the perfect time in my life. Even without personal attachment, this series is brilliant in it's directing, music and character work. Truly a work of art.

That last episode is so good holy shit. Being Anno's debut as a director I wasn't sure what to expect but this was really good. A lot of similarities with Eva, and some really cool animated sequences. Wish it was a bit longer than 6 episodes, but at the same time the way the episodes are separated make the passage of time in the show feel more real. If it was more fleshed out I don't think this feeling would have been possible. So yeah if you like Eva or anything Anno give this a watch!

Togashi is quite good at making these antagonists. Dark Tournament and Chapter Black are some of the best arcs shonen have to offer. Sadly the ending was rushed, with the last arc having some crazy potential.
