The early 2000's vibe this gives off is so cool. The mid-battle music is cheesy but fun as hell -- This Bount arc is kinda boring though -- This Bount arc is actually awful, I'm really struggling, reminds me of Fairy Tail's Celestial Spirit arc a lot.

I've come round a bit on the art-style, it really does allow some fantastic expressions to come out, and it still has that Pokemon vibe. I think I'll always prefer the style of X&Y, but this isn't bad.

OK I have seen the light, Beako is best girl -- WAIT, when the hell did Priscilla come into the running of best girl? She's awesome!

I didn't know how to feel after watching this, I had to sleep on it which normally means something was wrong. They very clearly truncated a lot of arcs into one which made the film a bit piece-meal as a whole.

I also 100% did not think the girl who won would win. Everything regarding the choice made sense, but it didn't feel earned or natural, more like either a spur of the moment decision to choose them or not enough effort was put in to make them feel like a worthy candidate.

Overall it's an OK ending but I am disappointed. Also I really enjoy being able to fully flesh out my thoughts in a proper notes box, good addition MAL.

An entire season of backstory isn't something I think I've seen before. It was interesting and made the story richer as a whole. I hope they continue this, the cliffhanger was cool and the story has been fine.

Yukio remains the best character in this series, he has a really interesting inner conflict.

The synopsis is very misleading, but that still doesn't make this a good anime.

It was so hard to rate this, considering how epic the plot twists were, but how little the rest made sense.

After hating the series I'm trying to remember why I liked this.

URGH. I'm so bored and confused -- I have no idea what I'm watching. But I don't like it -- What utter shite.

I didn't know how much I'd enjoy this, I normally love more real takes on sports anime like Ao Ashi, but this was very, very good. A football-esque Squid Game is cool as shit.

I haven't had so much fun watching a show week to week in years, I can't tell you how many times I rewatched hype scenes on YouTube. Loved it.

It wasn't clear when this was airing, but in hindsight they had taken away resources from the regular animation and put it into making the hype moments we remember even better. It results in the first few episodes looking like a literal slideshow, but results in the hype moments and the finale in particular being unbelievably entertaining.

I am happy with this adaptation of an incredible arc in the manga, it is still Blue Lock and the final two episodes gave me chills. I just hope if they ever give us a S3, they can at least give a little more attention to the in-between stuff as well as having insane production values for those moments we remember and rewatch on YouTube for years to come.

I do sincerely hope we get to see Kaiser and Noa in action, especially because for me the next arc is where Isagi truly becomes an actual badass.

A return to form for BHA. This season gives some justification to the last two which were underwhelming, and gave us some of my favourite character moments out of the series.

The manga readers were definitely right about the increased pace of the story, I'm not an author so I can't imagine how difficult it is to craft a well paced story that continues indefinitely.

BHA may have had it's ups and downs but I really enjoyed this season and have high hopes for the finale. Can't believe this show is nearly over.

It feels like I watched a re-hashed version of the first season.

There has been a lot of positive things said on social media about the beginning of this season. While definitely a good start, the D era has been extremely underwhelming personally -- Episode 10 was really good. Not just card-game anime-good, but normal anime-good. It hit all the correct emotional beats, was well paced and genuinely the best episode of Vanguard in years.

Crackpot theory, the possessed one is Akina because of his amplified desire to help Akari get better -- My theory didn't come to pass, but I'm glad this sequel wasn't a let down, the animation, writing and characters were just as enjoyable as the first season.

It's so refreshing to fully enjoy watching Vanguard weekly again.

I forget, what does the word 'mate' mean again? Maybe you could repeat it another hundred times.

The beginning was strong. The main duo were cool, the OP slapped and it had some cool twists that really invoked that Code Geass feeling, however the wider cast were not interesting and the politics felt very forced.

Unfortunately the further it went on the worse it got. The final episode especially just doesn't work as an ending, it feels very contrived and things just happen 'because they look emotional or cool' and leaves many of the plot points unresolved. What was the point of her friend being the Empress again?

All of the character cameos felt forced and just an attempt to bring in older fans of the series. Overall it tried too hard to continue the legacy of the original show and needed to try to become it's own thing.

It was very nice to see the characters again. I would have preferred a whole season however, what with Suzaku getting the only meaningful reunion with Lelouch.

The Euphemia plot twist was such a shock -- I forgot how good this show was.

Fantastic -- This remains the one gateway show I always recommend to newcomers. It dispels the myth of "It's a cartoon so therefore it's childish", it has an incredible hook, it's first few episodes go so hard and it's a decent length with a complete story.

I would always recommend something like this than a 500 episode shounen.

I've actually become super attached to the JP opening Butterfly, even though I didn't grow up with it. The song just gives so much nostalgia, and is nice to listen to both the original and the updated version from Tri.

Normally we need an antagonist of some kind to help give some resistance to the story, I wonder if they will be either an offshoot of the village who left eons ago, or we'll run into another group of people revived by a different revival fluid -- Not a hard prediction to make tbf but it was fun to have Dr. Stone back regardless.

The plot beats of the show have definitely become more anime-esque instead of being wholly based on science, but that is absolutely fine. Dr. Stone has never been strictly 100% scientifically accurate and it's more fun this way.

Every time I watch Dr. Stone I'm impressed.

This was the most engaging season of Dr. Stone yet, this show is very entertaining and consistent.

Senku and Tsukasa have a fantastic dynamic.

Really enjoyed piecing together the bits I knew about but never saw from Z.

I don't know if it was because of Akira Toriyama's death, or if this show wasn't as popular as they hoped, but it definitely felt like they cut things short. That being said, the animation was gorgeous, the fight choreography was insane, the adventure was fun and the final few episodes are so hype. I really really enjoyed this.

Pilaf should have stayed in the original Dragonball.

The Buu Arc was so much longer than I realized. Really gratifying to see the cameos of original Dragon Ball characters at the end.

After the quick progression of the first season, this felt a bit monotonous at times with the smaller focus on just a city. It also introduced too many characters with little to no purpose that we were expected to care about. Like why was Eko given such focus when she did nothing for the story? I still don't remember a lot of their names.

Season 3 looks very interesting though, I wasn't sold on the ending of this season so I wonder whether it is a clean break or it'll continue previous plot points.

An odd but fun romp of a show.

I'm going to write my thoughts here before I go online to see what the general opinion is, because I'm still a bit unsure what to think.

Apart from being a bit boring with not enough emotional beats for me, I can't figure out if I'm happy with the conclusion. Was this meant to be a love story between them, was it meant to be a growth story or is it something else I didn't see?

Obviously they both like each other and are struggling with the social conflicts a relationship would create, the comments about possibly becoming so attached so quickly are relevant when they haven't had much interaction with the opposite sex. The teacher did give some good points about how they should both meet other people first and have some more life experience to help realize if their emotions towards each other are real or not.

The more I think about this show the more I'm open to thinking about the questions and ideas it asked. I do think some of it is a little far-fetched, especially her offering her body for money so early on, and then the consistently calm conversations that would normally have some arguments happen in-between (especially because of the unfamiliar emotions, lack of maturity and hormones from being teenagers).

Maybe my expectations were wrong, especially when it comes to anime tropes regarding sibling relationships. I was expecting more of the usual fare, but was presented with a different type of show that didn't use any of the typical tropes (body offering scene aside). I still don't know if it a good commentary on forced family situations that happen fairly often in real life, or just an attempt at being classy and feeling a bit forced.

Maybe I'll have to come back to this when my thoughts have settled and I've read some of the other opinions online.
