it probably would have been better if I had some prior knowledge but, that said, if I had seen any of the animes I probably would have been disappointed in the movie.

it follows the manga pretty well

It doesn't get much better then a powerful fire man that uses stubbornness to get through everything except transportation and an ice man who unconsciously strips.
