Anime Relations: Shinseiki Evangelion, Shinseiki Evangelion Movie: Air/Magokoro wo, Kimi ni, Kidou Butouden G Gundam, Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho, Hellsing Ultimate, Yu☆Gi☆Oh! 5D's

Just decided I'd share some of my favorite scenes with everyone. I decided to select one scene from each anime in my top five...so enjoy!

1.) Neon Genesis Evangelion: End of Evanglion - "Asuka's Blood Rage" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtjJe4elifI

Ok ok...I know that this scene isn't from the original anime...but I believe that EoE and the original series are meant to be watched together since EoE resolves the issues that were presented at the end of the series. In this scene Asuka returns to her former self and does it in a big way...not only does she defeat the MP Evas but she does it running of Unit 02's backup battery. Also...as a huge Asuka fan...I was just waiting for that "Asuka's Back!!" moment and EoE delivers. It was great to see the old Asuka back...unfortunately she has to go down fighting nearly impossible odds. Still...this scene cemented Asuka as my favorite anime character...

2.) Yu Yu Hakusho - "Dragon of the Darkness Flame" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ltjhy0nkdmM

I will admit...this is actually not my favorite scene from Yu Yu Hakusho...probably ranks second or third in fact...My real favorite scene is Hiei's fight against Bui where Hiei actually absorbs the Dragon of the Darkness Flame into himself to achieve new power..."I have the power of the Black Dragon because now I AM the dragon!" love that quote...unfortunately the scene isn't on youtube, best I could find was this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=au_BhFt2eNg) which doesn't really capture the moment...regardless, the scene above is still epic...it's the first time we see Hiei use his signature technique. You can feel the suspense and Chuck Huber's voice acting gets me every time...

3.) G Gundam - "With the help of KYOJI!!!!!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnVCYOUB0gY

Everything you need to know about G Gundam is here in this clip. Anyone who has watched the show knows that it's incredibly over the top. This isn't even the most over the top scene in the series but I love it...Domon's freakout and surge into Shining Gundam's Super Mode. The voice acting is just utterly ridiculous but honestly if G Gundam actually took itself seriously, I wouldn't love it so much. And of course "MY LOVE...MY ANGER...AND ALL OF MY SORROW!!!!"

4.) Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - "Shooting Quasar Dragon" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgDq7YiTIrY&feature=related

Youtube betrayed me once again...my favorite is scene is during the Arc Cradle arc where Antinomy/Bruno/Dark Glass (whatever) and Yusei are sucked into the black hole together and Antinomy sacrifices himself so that Yusei can live...it's a freaking epic scene...wish I could find it...but this scene is a close second. Yusei summons each of the Signer Dragons, tunes them all together...and forms the series most powerful monster...not to mention pulling off a freaking epic Over Top Clear Mind...and just because...CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES IN SPACE...and I thought G Gundam was over the top...even when 5D's tries to be somewhat normal it's still ridiculous...

5.) Hellsing Ultimate - "Seras Becomes a Vampire" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV0IRtT2ZL4

Honestly...if you watch the OVA...the whole time you're just waiting for this moment where Seras becomes a full vampire...and then all of a sudden...HOLY FREAKING SHIT...she doesn't just go into a blood rage...she goes absolutely, completely into revenge mode...and takes no prisoners...literally grinding her opponents face into the wall. Not to mention her sick new Shadow Arm. Later...in another epic scene Alucard finally addresses her as Seras...there are numerous epic scenes from Hellsing but this one is easily the most memorable...and a huge turning point for Seras' character...

Well thats about it...it seems I have a liking for over the top anime...but whatever...feel free to comment and discuss...
