Many people wonder what anime is, but in general it is a set of rules and classification of a way of drawing. The original japanese anime is the trendsetter. Generally if you place head inside a circle, you can add those same sized circles down to the feet and get amount that differs from style to style. Head is the major sizer in the styles.

Sizing it up
Generally how the styles differ is the amount of circles.

In japanese anime, there is 6 circles from head to toes. while american style drawing, theres generally a 5. So, what is the other differences? the rules on how you form eyes ears and looks. Im not going to explain everything here, only the key differences in the sizes. I allready mentioned 2 styles, but there is 3.

Now, these 2 mentioned styles were the original rulesetters on drawing styles. They both have same idea: to make drawing look little more realistic, by creating a rules, they aid the drawing process.

Now for the 3rd drawing style, that is long gone. French drawing style. Originally this style was just ridicilous, the head was just formed from 1 shape, pearl, diamond or a ball. How american "disney" style differs from this? the jaw. Jaw is actually separate from the skullshape. Now, i mentioned the 3rd style is almost nonexistent? this is because of the 3rd anime style. This is actually not a original name to it, but i like to call the third name as Franime.

Let me explain: French cartoon artists started to follow more and more of the american style of drawing, and as they were not as ridgid as american to change theyr style of drawing, they managed to get co-operations with japanese anime houses. This co-operation of drawing created a mix of american style and japan style.
1 of the first animes of this kinds were alfred j. kwack. This was 1 of the first of the style, that incorporated some of the anime style to cartoons. Later of came a series of animelike series.

So that is the origin of the Franime, french drawn anime.
