How I rate anime:

When rating anime, I usually use the following criteria which are:

~The story. This is the very core of the anime and is therefore takes the biggest part in how I score anime. This means that if an anime has a great story then it gains a huge point and if it doesn't, it automatically loses a huge chunk of points from me. This is of course case-based as some anime don't focus on the story but instead on...

~The characters. This is the second parameter and takes the spot of the second most important factor in my rating of anime. A good character development, personality, and character design are the three things that I usually look for in the protagonists and antagonists. If these are all present then the anime gains a big point for me and if not all are present, then there will be a reduction in score.

~Animation and music. This is the last thing that I look at. I usually just overlook these parts and just mention them for the sake of mentioning, but if they are exceptionally good then I give extra points to the anime. If the animation and music are terrible or otherwise dated, then I just overlook them completely and disregard them in the scoring process.

~Lastly, my personal enjoyment. This is quite simple, If i enjoyed the series then +1 point, if it's an ok anime, then disregard it in the scoring process, if it bored me to tears, -1 point.

So all in all it kind of looks like this:
Story = 4 Points
Characters = 3 Points
Animation and music = 2 Point
Personal enjoyment = 1 Point
-------------------------------------
Overall = 10 Points

Also, this is my personal rating scale

10 = The good shit ; My own personal favorites.
9 = Excellent ; Held in high regard
8 = Above average ; Entertaining with minor flaws
7 = Average ; Nothing noteworthy but not horrible either.
6 = Below average ; It's pretty bad.
5-2 = Crap ; Varying degrees of garbage.
1 = Watched it for the lulz
