Here I'll be discussing my top 5 anime of the season so far. Its is where we discuss animes that have impressed me so far with the few episodes they have released. I will not be including sequels into this list.

#5 - Just Because!
This anime is my romance of the season and so far I am enjoying it. It's about a group of high school students that are in their final semester and this one guy transfers into their school and will completely change their lives. It started out as kind meh but I eventually grew to like it. It's characters are all realistic and somewhat likeable and It's gorgeously animated. It's story is a wonderful depiction of high school life and I hope to see what studio Pine Jam can do with it.

#4 - Juuni Taisen
A battle royale directed by the same guy who did Mirai Nikki and was originally written by Nisio Isin. What more could you want? I was really hyped for this anime since it was written by the same guy who did Monogatari (which I love) and so far it hasn't disappointed me. There is no main character so it leaves you uncertain as to who will win the fight , which is how it should be. It keeps you on the edge, making you watch it every week. The art style is one of the main things I like about this series. It has a rough look and has really dark colours that suit the anime really well. I was a bit skeptical since it was by a studio I've never heard of by so far they're doing an awesome job

#3 - Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou (Girls' Last tour)
Civilisation is dead. The only humans left are two little girls. This show is the ultimate cute girls show and it is beautiful. The background art is gorgeous and is really atmospheric. It's a show where you can just sit back and relax, even if it is about a post-apocalyptic world. The show's atmosphere will absorb you into the world that it will just make you smile.

#2 - Mahoutsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus' Bride)
An anime about magic that is not a stupid light novel harem. A young girl is sold to a mage with a cow skull for a head and makes her into his apprentice... and his bride. This is a pleasant-of-life show about a girl that has lost everything and is suddenly forced into this mysterious world of magic, kind of like Harry Potter. The world of this show is full of mystery and one can't be helped but be enthralled by this show. it truly is magical.

#1 - Inuyashiki
An old man that has cancer and a family that doesn't love him gets turned into a cyborg by aliens that crashed landed on Earth. Despite the description, the show is actually pretty serious and heavy. Within one episode, it genuinely made me feel for Inuyashiki as it shows us his struggles, and that's a pretty impressive feat. Inuyashiki is probably one of the first characters that I can really relate to and feel for in any form of entertainment because of all of his struggles as a person who has felt betrayed. As soon as I saw this show I went, "So that's where all of MAPPA's money for this year went in to," and boy it was good money well spent. It's CG animation wasn't that bad, in fact it was somewhat decent. Actually, this whole show looks really good. It was wonderfully directed and the art looks fantastic. And the OP is hype. By far, it is easily my anime of the season.

And that is all for my top 5 of the Fall 2017 anime season. This is just merely the tip of the iceberg as there many other good shows this season. Some honourable mentions include Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau (Children of the Whales) and Net-juu no Susume. Not to mention all the sequels that are worth catching up to like Shokugeki no Souma (Food Wars) and Kekkai Sensen & Beyond (Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond). It looks like we've got a promising season ahead of us.

Anime Relations: Eromanga-sensei, Re:Creators
I was confronted by a very unpopular opinion recently that said Eromanga-sensei is better than Re:Creators, and this made me especially angry.

Eromanga is a piece of absolute trash that I only enjoyed because it was trashy as hell. I watched it because it was unashamed of it being terrible. But just because the show is self-aware about it being terrible, it does not make it a better show. If it did something with that, then it would be a whole different story, but it didn't and it should in no way be considered as actually 'good.' Saying Eromanga is good because it acknowledges itself as being trash is like a tsundere saying that she knows that she's tsundere. She knows what she is, so what? There's no depth to the joke and it comes off as cheap.

Re:Creators on the other hand actually has good parts within it. Its characters were actually interesting and not some cookie-cutter tropes, the plot was well-written even though the premise is a bit boring and the animation was a hundred times better. It was more engaging to watch than some little girl flashing her panties to her onii-san. People actually put effort into the anime and could have easily been successful. Re:Creators wasn't an amazing show but it was still pretty good.

Overall, comparing between the two shows is like comparing Game of Thrones and a meme compilation on Youtube. One is actual quality entertainment that is highly engaging and one is just some cheap humour to laugh about with your friends (if you have any).
