Anime Relations: One Punch Man, Dragon Ball Super, Boku no Hero Academia, Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season

I've been watching anime since I was like ten, maybe even younger if you count Pokemon and stuff like that. It's been a huge part of my life, for better or for worse.

Meanwhile, my roommate, (we're in college) who has become one of my best friends over the seven months we've been living together, hadn't ever watched anime. So I took it upon myself to introduce her to it. We started off with One Punch Man, then Dragon Ball Super, and then My Hero Academia. It's kinda funny to watch someone who's never seen anime before watch it. I think that if you grow up watching anime, you get used to the tropes and problems that come with it. On the funny side, she was so confused and annoyed by the end of episode teasers, which basically gave away the whole next episode, and she thought the dramatic fight scenes were so weird. On the less funny side, the treatment of women made her really uncomfortable, which is understandable....I'm having fun introducing her to this stuff though, and I hope I can keep doing so. It's very endearing to watch someone get annoyed at Vegeta, or applaud Tsuyu for her heroics, when before there's no way she would have cared. I wanna branch out genres though, as we've only watched shonen, and so many other good series are out there!
