Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Anime Relations: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Fullmetal Alchemist is a stellar anime that is on the top of my favs list. I like it for its great plot line throughout the anime and the various twists and turns that happen along the way. It may be a long anime, but it is definitely worth while to watch it as it is one of the top animes of all time.
Fullmetal Alchemist is about two brothers who are alchemists who are one a journey to get their bodies back after they committed a taboo in attempt to bring their mother back from the dead.
The plot is great. It builds and builds continuously throughout the whole anime without leaving you dissatisfied before it reaches the top. Some animes in my experience are most exciting when it nears the climax, but FMAB kept my interest high as the plot kept unfolding one piece after another, all while providing you with info and background about things that will lead to the climax.
The character development is fantastic. Personally, SAO did not do that good of a job developing key supporting characters that would influence Kirito's life, but FMAB, on the other hand, spends lots of time with the abundance of episodes it has on the characters and introduces them. Usually its not a come and go, as most characters have quite a pivotal role in the story.
The animation is great. I love the style of the animation. The setting is in Europe, so it may not feel completely Eastern, but definitely better compared to Attack on Titan, which did not have that detailed of animation or did not have "animation" at all, where sounds were played (i.e. footsteps), but only a still was shown. The people in FMAB are definitely more realistic compared to many other animes where people have cute eyes, colored hair, and some wacky hairstyles (i.e. moving hair out of the "way", but ends up staying in place).
The story itself may be hard to grasp at first for some viewers, but they do a good job in the introduction itself to talk about alchemy and the first few episodes to introduce the characters and circumstances. As I mentioned, as the plot unfolds, more is explained and they never overload and cram information to a viewer which is easy on the mind as it is trying to comprehend and discern the story.
Overall, its a great anime. FMAB definitely is the best anime I have watched and many other people have thought so too as well. From the plot to the character development, FMAB definitely sets benchmarks for most categories for reviews
