Hey there, I wanted to quickly stop by and thank you for the Secret Santa gift. Uramichi Oniisan was a show I quickly glanced over once in the past and never paid it any real mind after, but I'm glad you suggested it. It's a pleasant surprise. Even though binging it would probably give me giga depression. It can get a bit too real. This gift was a really nice breath of fresh air after all the other shows I have finished lately.

I couldn't check out the other gifts yet, but Redline was always a show that I had on my radar, and I'll definitely watch it eventually.

As for Dead Mount Death Play, I never knew that show existed. Your summary does sound like it would be my cup of tea., but I have no idea when I'll give it a go.

Haha, lucky you. The franchise gets worse by the year, but I'm Stockholm syndromed into playing by my love for Rinne and the money I've spent, lol. I don't know if you're up to date with the Akatsuki incident™ but in case you're not, let me just say that Happyele decided to add one of the new characters into their line-up. I can't believe Happyele is ACTUALLY stupid enough to change the composition of an already well-established unit?! Not only that, they're also doing it with one of the oldest units in the game whose core lore during the game's timeline has always been the fact that they're a trio and "how that fact would never change"... Who thought this would be a good idea and who let them go through with it? AND this doesn't even scratch the surface of how problematic and sad the change itself, the way it was done as well as Happyele's stubborn behavior through the process of trying to implement the change despite countless complaints from the playerbase has been. Also, the overall writing quality has been declining rapidly since The Matrix story back in April 2024. So many characters have been getting retconned with asspull reveals or out-of-character moments... Maybe they stould stop adding new characters when they don't even remember how to write the old ones?!

Exactly, you get it!! (ʃƪ ✧o✧) Kagura's history with the yakuza, her large amount of fighting power compared to her small stature and her sometimes having trouble understanding the conventions of Earth due to not being acquainted that well with social etiquette all remind me of Kohaku. She's such a perfect fit! But her bottomless stomach and simple mind are such textbook Niki qualities... Although, Sadaharu is also a goofy, fluffy creature who likes eating people's heads, so I agree that he works better as Niki than Kohaku. Now that I think about it, he even has the same face as Niki!

Well, what can I say? Any character who remotely reminds me of Rinne will have me twirling my hair to some extent. Also, I'm kind of obsessed with how perfectly Gintoki's shirt fits?? (˵⁠☉_☉⁠˵) I wasn't expecting Gintama out of all things to have such good casual male fanservice, but it's not like I'm complaining. (˶ ¬▽¬ ˶)

It's Shinpachi! He's a bit more of a reach than the rest, because HiMERU isn't really the type of character you'd find in a gag comedy by nature, but they're similar in terms of both being the tsukkomi™ of their respective groups as well as having a sibling they're trying to protect and make happy. Sadaharu only debuted in the tenth episode, so up until now I had Kagura as a mix of both Kohaku and Niki. However, Sadaharu also shares traits from both characters and now I can't decide how to assign those two!! ( >_<) As for the parallels between Gintoki and Rinne... I could probably write at least a full page at this point, haha.
