Yeah, tell me about it. Part 6 in general was honestly kinda disappointing to me, especially compared to the previous parts. Hopefully Part 7 will be a bit better.

I've been meaning to touch Jojo's for way too long, and I'm beyond glad I'm finally getting onto it. It feels like a nice change of pace from the brain numbing shows involving gay girls doing cute things that I'd usually binge on. I'll try and catch up in time for the second season of stardust crusaders and then binge through the manga and lose myself in a bizarre mixture of manliness and fabulousness.
I'm enjoying part 1, so this is only gonna get better and better. |

Sorry for the REALLY late reply, college apps have been giving me hell.
And one of Berserk's most impressive achievements is definitely its ability to blend elements of fantasy and realism. Every character feels human and even when violence occurs, it isn't done in an overblown fashion. Its battles are realistic, and there are no deus-ex-machinas for Guts to overcome his difficulties. I can go on about its other merits, but I'll let you notice them for yourself. And yes, the movies and 90s series follow the same timeline, so, obviously, Berserk's biggest flaw is its ending. FMA:B has my favorite cast of characters to date in anime. Not only are all of their personalities lovable, but, most importantly, they ALL serve a role in the plot. So many shows with only 12 or 25 episodes struggle to keep characters relevant past their respective arc/focus episode, and this problem is especially true in long-running shounens, where the main protagonist is the almighty savior and the only one that can make a difference in the story. However, in FMA:B, teamwork actually matters. Hope you keep having fun with both! |

Yeah, Katanagatari is a very well-made show overall. In my opinion, it's ability to do the exact opposite of what you'd normally expect is its biggest draw. The dialogue also never felt too heavy or tiresome, which is a problem I have with shows like Bakemonogatari.
I have thoroughly enjoyed HxH so far. While it does suffer from sluggish pacing every now and then, the buildup has always been rewarding. It's revived my old love for long-running shounens, which I thought died years ago when Naruto turned for the worse. Also, I noticed that you've begun two of my five favorite shows, FMA:B and Berserk. If you don't mind telling me, what are your thoughts on the two so far? |
