It's true the manga version had the surprise factor, but in the anime Whitebeard was definitely adding more pressure. |

| Oden fighting against Whitebeard was a hype moment. I'm a little relieved that Whitebeard was still able to stop Oden. Oden really is determined to set sail! |

| The budget of one whole episode went into that Whitebeard punch, that was pretty neat. But somehow I'm not a fan of Oden's voice actor, he sounds so emotionless somehow. |

| I sorely underestimated the scale & significance of this flashback arc. I thought it might be 3-5 episodes adding context to the Akazaya Nine, but the way that it's tying back to crucial parts of this grand chronicle is an absolute delight. Seeing Oden set out into the world is reminiscent of Brook & Laboon in how it adds another piece of pre-pirate era history to the fantastic adventures that story the Grand Line. |

| I vastly underestimated how exciting Oden's story could be! I'm absolutely shocked how incredible it is!!! I keep saying I'm gonna stop doubting One Piece.... Then I start doubting once again (how is what's coming up gonna be MORE exciting than the crazy exciting stuff I've already seen?!?!).... And then I get punched in the face again hahahahaha XD love it! |
