One day I bought this manga for really cheap on sale because nobody was buying it, and I can tell you that I definitely did not regret that purchase.
If you want an absurd story that makes zero sense but still manages to make you laugh uncontrollably, this is the story for you. Plue might be a Silver Key Celestial Spirit in the Fairy Tail universe, but in this manga you can see that he actually has a lot more interesting life than we know! The fact that you will never know what happens next is really exciting. In one panel you can see them eating
...
on the ground, and in the next you can see them stuck on a tree being attacked by wild birds. There may be a lot of jokes that sound cringe-worthy, but hey, kill the part of you that cringes. The comedy sometimes gets so bad to the point that it's good. When it's not funny, it's more like "Why though?" What does Hiro Mashima think of this? Do you think this is a good idea? "
You meet all of these characters, and they have odd and unusual physical characteristics as well as unexpectedly amusing personalities. Plue itself is already a uniquely designed character. Is it really a dog? Why does the nose look like a horn? Or is it a carrot? All of them are pretty much deformed aliens! Other examples include a literal walking paper with a face, a pervert clown, another alien, and many other weird creatures waiting for you in this story. It's so much fun to just look at the characters and go "LMAO, why do they look like that?". The characters' behavior is also beyond hilarious and never boring to watch. All of them are really stupid, and there's not a single character who actually has a functioning brain cell in this story. The art is in the basic Hiro Mashima style, and in some chapters he definitely doesn't hesitate to do the bare minimum and make it look super ugly to add the extra humor.
It was so much fun. Overall, it was a memorable read. Sometimes I still re-read it whenever I feel down and just let out some chuckles and snorts here and there just because of how weird the story and characters are. I dare say this is actually better than the actual series Plue is based on.
