All You Need Is Kill
A short tough as nails and brutal story. At first you just follow a volunteering boy who wants to fight for his survival and the survival of mankind. It evolves in a captivating story about loss, chances and and the hard reality of self-imposed altruism. Certainly not a story for the faint of heart. Music for amplification: headphones on with Enrique Iglesias - Bailando (Español) and Current Value - Fear, for the fighting scenes.

Annarasumanara
Started to read this story because it has the same author as Afterschool Military Activities, this intrigued me into it. The hook that kept me reading was the art which for me resembled the works of Moritz Kennel and other Swiss illustrators. The minimalistic and stylistic style remembered me of this. The story has some great points which it in depth speaks about, these are a lot like the problems the protagonist in the Catcher in the Rye deals with. These are: growing up, dealing with responsibilities, the fear of losing who you are, not finding your "place" in life and to be branded as a failure. I would gladly advise this story to anyone who has read the Catcher in the Rye and liked it, you will not be disappointed.

Claymore
One of my favorite mangas to date. It has it all. Too much positiveness to say about it. What you see develop in this series is a blend of (overcoming) despair, survival and above all companionship/friendship. It can be a bit gory at times, but it is part of the stories grim setting. It was always a blast to read!

Duty After School
This manwha took always a awful lot of my precious thoughts every time a new chapter came out. I can say that this series is not for the faint of heart. It is grim, pessimistic and too awfully realistic for that. This was I guess the things that drew me to this series. It has a slow start but when the action starts... You will keep close to your heart. it also depicted very cleverly what forced conscription can do to a group of students. You feel and see their feelings to each other and how they respond to it on their own. This in my opinion done very well. I really can say that this is one of the best manwha's I have ever read.

Girls of the Wild's
A heartfelt comment. This was one of my absolute favorite stories to read and also one of the first i ever started. Thanks to this manhwa i have started reading Korean webtoons and found their styles and stories refreshing. It felt as if the story has become part of me, as i was always looking forward for the next chapter every week, no other manhwa or manga has ever done that so strongly to me. The story is your pretty typical love/rejection story but again with an interesting twist. You can see what grinding working poverty can do to a adolescent who all by himself has to take care of his family and also conform to the expecations society has of him: finish highschool. Just this alone would be not very easy but the protagonist also carries deep problematic scars with him, which caused him to distrust all women which he ever met. Transferring to a all girls school shall be a troubling experience, you can guarantee it. The story clearly shows that trust and support even if you push it away at the start will eventually work. You could clearly see the protagonist grow throughout the series. The martial arts environment proved to be an good source for action and drama which a series like the absolutely needs. Sometimes frustrating about the denseness of the main character but at times it als would be funny for all the misunderstandings it caused. It is an encapsulating story about perseverance, overcoming your fears and distrust and become the best you can be even if you are still in thought unworthy of all the praise you worthy receive. I have only positive feelings towards this series, the only thing i and probably everyone else would have changed is the ending. It is not bad but it felt very rushed which is sad seeing the development arcs it has gone through. An absolute must read!

Green Blood
A very well written and drawn manga. It is one of those stories that captivates you to read it in one sitting. The flow of the story is almost commanding you to read just another chapter and after that the next. The story has a realistic timesetting and reminds for a large part to the Priest manhwa. They both have similar weaponry and style. The drawing is at times very sharp en almost worthy to be enlarged as a poster of sorts. The story itself revolves around two brothers who make a hard living as Catholic immigrants in New York. As a Catholic myself, these small references to the faith were very enjoyable and added a small but noticeable layer to the story. If you liked Priest or any other western themed manga, this should be a no brainer to read. Much recommended to do so.

Half & Half
An emotional short manga series. It captured my heart with their truthfullness and dedication to each other. It shows also clearly that someone is capable to learn to love someone in a very short amount of time. A power ending driven story which does not disappoint at the end. Recommended to read.

Kami Sen
I am really glad that i finally where able to end this manga. It just did not felt right to read it. It was funny at times to read and it created some interest in the indigenous Japanese religion Shinto. This was useful for understanding the story a bit better. The story had way too many pantsu shots and was a bit too flashy with the nude. You must see for yourself, if youl like it.

Medaka Box
I didn't thought at first that Medaka Box would be a fighting/action manga. I found it out while reading. I really can say that i liked this manga a lot. The storyline was intriguing and had some flashes of (light) fanservice and underlying romance. These made it a lot more readable. I need to say that you need to like to read a lot. It is really a lot of reading per page. This can be seen a drawback by some, but not for me. It came to me as an allmost must reader. Gladly advice it!

Mirai Nikki
A very beautiful yet terrifying story. The main cause people read this story is of Yuno Gasai, this also applied to me. I must say that the story leaves a satisfying but also a horrible feeling on me at the end. I was partly glad that i finished it, but also i wanted to see Yuki and Yuno live happily ever after haha. The love Yuno shows as "the" ever known yandere girlfriend is strange, beautiful and can't be changed or broken. In my eyes this is her "real" power and it shines upon the ones she loves most like a bright star.

Mirai Nikki: Redial
As I stated in the other Mirai Nikki story post. I would really like a story about what happend after that story ended. I got it delivered on a golden plate, despite being a short story. It was really nice to read. Recognized Yuno's behavior as always. A happy ending again. That was all I could wish for.

Nozoki Ana
It may be an ecchi manga but it features one of the best "ecchi" storylines i have ever read. It has a great story with unexpected depth and emotional sides. Personally i also saw and drawn some life lessons in it. The nice thing of the story is, that the story itself keeps it real. It stays within the objectives of life and the achieved accomplishments of what people do and get in their short lives. This gives a connective feeling with it's readers.

Onihime VS
I found this manga because i was searching the work of Soo-Hyun Lee. The manga combines humor with a cute ecchi story. I must admit that the illustrations where main thing that stunned me. I found them really well done overall. If you want to read a manga which puts a smile on your face, i glady advice you this one. All the other work of the illustrator is also worth searching.

Orange Marmalade
A very modern themed and sweet love-story. I have really fallen in love with this love-story. Reasons enough but one to mention: The love between the two main characters does not need explanation because it explains it's self to them. How hard they turn away from each other the harder they fall back. What I also found very interesting for a love-story like this, is the underlying discrimination in the series. This causes Ma Ri to develop a huge wall of self-hatred and a very low self-esteem. She struggles with these themes and keeps her distance from anyone. This causes her the title "Ice Princess" among the other students. This reaction of her was by points allmost painfull to see, but made it sometimes also awkwardly funny to read. Really big ups for this awesome love-story!

It is really a well written and also damn well drawn story. As a Catholic I must admit that some themes irritated or even slightly shocked me. The blending between religion and a good western is very well done. It incorporated some idealistic parts from both worlds. The story makes you think about religion in a different way: what if God abandoned us? The beautiful thing about Ivan is that he while he forsake God, he still fights for him in a indirect way. Myanimelist says that the series ended but I am not totally sure about that. Rumors say that it is still ongoing. A must reader if you like religious undertones or a lot of action in manga/manhwa.

Skill of Lure
Stumbled on it by accident. A refreshing take on the ubiquitous Korean manhwas about seduction and relations. These stories cover themselves most of the time in lustful scenes and the like. This one is not like the others. Although the art was very good (for example Sae-Na An drawing) and without the common nudity it was very enjoyable, refreshing even. It is one of those stories you read because of the mc and the changes he makes. This is somewhat rare especially in Korean romantic manhwas (where cheating often occurs). The three main characters the story revolves around act well to each other with flares of humor, misunderstandings and awkward situations. As a vanilla story reader i can recommend this story purely as vanilla but also to people who are seeking a story with a lot of humor and (comical) awkwardness.

The Breaker
A masterpiece, that is to say about it. Saw some of myself in Shi Woon. I like the ideology of protection the weak and the people you care about. The fighting scenes are beautifully drawn and still the emotions and romance are not far away all the time. A must reader!

A bit dark(ish) styled love-story. It is a story with as underlying themes: sweet and subtile manipulation, the denial of true feelings, repentance and forgiveness. What captivated my attention was the emotional depth every character copes with. You see all their losses, gains and everything inbetween. The characters flow through the story and change on the way. The story thus incorporates a lot of different elements to make a fluently feeling and addicting manwha.

Velvet Kiss
A very cute but well told "ecchi" story. The story works around a couple of characters. You see their ups and downfalls. The shining point in this series is the kindness shown by a "stranger" to someone who needs it the most. The story also shows an "Japanese" custom: job or work over everything. It is a beautiful story about the impact of depth, loneliness, the shallowness that people flare on first sight and how kindness can change the hart of someone.
