Lucky Star is definitely one that has been recommended to me, as has Haruhi Suzumiya. Both look like good shows that I'd enjoy, though I've been told that I should wait until I've seen more different types of anime, as I've been told it references a lot of other anime. Sounds like Haruhi Suzumiya is the one I should watch first of the two.
