I'm so glad you enjoyed Who Made Me a Princess so much. Even though I knew it was a work that fit your requirements, I was a little nervous that you might not like it, but I see that the message of the work has meant a lot to you. I also understand your point about romance in other works, a part of me also felt that you could refer to something like that, that's why I also thought that this would be a perfect work for you. Of course, I'm also into Athy/Lucas ship, I found the duo they formed too adorable and I was also crazy looking for those side stories at the time to satisfy my curiosity. (╥︣﹏᷅╥)
Your words also make me very happy, I feel that recommending works is something important, especially because my goal is for the other person to have the best time possible with the story and to get away a little from the bad moments that may occur outside the world of fiction. I'm also glad that the work came to you at a good time when you needed the warmth of a story like this (Even though I don't know the details, I send you lots of encouragement from here (ɔ◔‿◔)ɔ ♥)
It has been a pleasure that you have also taken both recommendations with such affection, if in the future you want any more or if there is something I can help with, do not hesitate to come and ask! (>‿◠)✌
Thanks for the kind words! Honestly I kinda hate Nakia and admire her tenacity at the same time. She truly was a persistent and great villain for the story. I liked most of the cast, like Zannanza, Ilbani, Ramses and ofc- Yuri and Kail, but I think i especially liked Yuri as I've always loved fmc who go through huge character developments.
Tbh i got a bit too optimistic thinking i can read any sort of artstyle now... Started Basara and i can already see why I dropped it once b4. But im actually enjoying it a lot now unlike back then, so yes- I really do need to get used to the artsyles lol.
Oh also thx for another rec.. Added it to my PTR for after finishing Basara.
Well, I'm glad you had such a good MLA Santa experience and am looking forward to chatting more as well!! Cya~!
I'm so glad you're enjoying "Oumagadoki Doubutsuen", I had a hard time picking a manga you might like, I tend to read a lot of things that have been cancelled prematurely, so I was a little bit scared with the choices I had. (╥﹏╥)
I don't know why, but a part of me also felt that the volume limit was a mistake, since it broke the "harmony" of the rest of your requirements a bit, although thanks to that you were able to enjoy another kind of gift, it's true that it wasn't what you expected, but I hope at least you'll like it enough ^.^
And as for that extra recommendation... I had a lot of things that crossed my mind that I think you might like, but the one that best fits your requirements I think might be "Who Made Me a Princess". It's a beautiful story about a father and daughter's relationship, there's so little romance that I don't think you can say it's a subgenre of the work, it's more of a light accompaniment to Athanasia's personal development. The thing that I think you could most easily assimilate from the works you've read would be the basic structure of the story of "Villains Are Destined to Die", since both protagonists end up in the body of a girl who is not loved by her family and they have to fight against that to win people's hearts, although this work does not have such a "dark" and "calculated" tone as "Villains Are Destined to Die", since this is all from a somewhat more relaxed point of view, but I still think you will like it.
If you end up reading it, I will be waiting for your final opinions in case you feel like telling me about it. Thank you very much for taking the time to write to me, it makes me very happy that you had a nice experience. (っ^▿^)
I absolutely loved Red River!! I really would have never picked it up by myself due to the artstyle as I've always disliked the older artstyles, but reading this even made me decide to want to give another similar highly rated manga, Basara, another try (I'd dropped it at ch 4 due to the artstyle a few years ago).. I can say that reading Red River has paved the path for me to pick up many more amazing older works that I've always avoided due to them being old or dated artsyles.
This makes this probably the best MAL present I've gotten yet~ Thanks once again for such a wonderful recommendation!!
I also see that you've started reading Yona and it even made to the top spot in your faves... That makes me insanely happy!!!! Glad to have another Akatsuki no Yona fan ><!! (I consider that as another present lol).
Btw, The story will be ending in a few more chapters, so I suppose you've chosen a pretty good time to start it (probably?), but its also kinda sad to see the end of such a good story.
As for the other two you recommended.. I'm completely fine with manhwas as well, however I avoid reading anything thats still publishing.. Its kinda a pain to keep reading sometihng indefinitely (unlike seasonal animes which we know will end with the season).
So I'll keep those two in mind for the day they finally finish publishing (hopefully).
Well thank you once again for the amazing presents and wishing you a happy new year~
