http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=44973473&postcount=3428 This post is the best explanation I've seen so far, even if I think he's over-simplified a few of the themes
Surprised you read my blog at all I'll admit, since there's a lot of stuff on there that wouldn't interest you at all. I will recommend you watch Redline, for something that's come out over the past year or two that I think you'll like
Kemenozume was the perfect example of a pretentious anime. Artwork that tries to be unconventional but just looks ugly and stupid. A plot that tries to be ‘LOL MATURE AND DEEP’ but looks more and more like a mess with every episode. So Yuasa went on to make Kaiba? Someone must have hit the guy on the head and told him to stop being such a pretentious faggot.
Yeah, pretentious is what bugged me about the show in every way.
My Studio 4c viewings have been few and far between but if they can produce stuff as mindblowing as that first episdoe of memories then I've got to check a few of them out, although it's a shame to hear the rest don't live up to the first. Also, if you liked that episode then Evangelion is strongly reccomended.
Great soundtrack but seriously dull. If you want to check out that guys work then watch Haibane Remnei. I couldn't get even remotely interested in Texylyze
I'm actually surprised that someone read the whole thing. I spend far more time self-reflecting and thinking then anything else combined (I even do it while working on other things). For me, I just want to know who exactly I am, where I came from, and why I am here. Probably once I start college in a month, my comic reading and watching anime will decrease drastically because I am going to be studying one of my passions, philosophy.
I don't really know what you are referring to with the links. They are all great (plus I made the Moebius and Bilal list on amazon (even though it says it was made by Cindy, I share my account with my mom)).
By the way, have you read any of Kramers Ergot? I have volume 6 and I am thinking about scanning it.
