A variety watcher, mostly popular anime catches my eyes nowadays.
Rarely read manga, but usually when I do, it's one that has an anime adaptation or really grabs my interest.
Sometimes when I have the time I watch trashy shows as they can be entertaining.
From genres, I tend to gravitate towards slice of life, romcoms as well as the plethora of seinen/shonen.
If you're curious how I tend to rate all the shows on my lists, here's how they tend to be:
10: Left a considerable mark, thoroughly enjoyable and incredible watches with next to no flaws at all. Easily the type of shows I could come back to when I'd want to rewatch them. Often shows that I can recommend watching, even if you might not be a fan of the genres.
9: Close to perfection, really great watches that had small problems to them that left them from getting the top mark. Despite that, these are really good watches and can be good rewatches too.
8-7: This is my average grading when it comes to shows. They're fairly consistent watches with good qualities to them that make them pretty enjoyable, but they might not have anything that makes them outstanding, or they had certain aspects that made them lose a bit of value.
6: Filler shows, or otherwise completely unremarkable shows that are as fine as it gets. They're not horrible, not outright bad, but just bland, forgettable or uninteresting. They're as safe as it gets to show in quality, or they have such glaring issues that reduces the enjoyment into a mixed state, leaving you either bored out of your mind, wanting it to be something better, or just forgetting you even watched it in the first place.
5: A show that is difficult to enjoy that was more irritating than enjoyable to watch due to prolonged issues, and doesn't have much at all that stands out from it. The first type of shows that I wouldn't recommend you to watch, because these are often boring or bad.
4-3: Shows that are flat out annoying or boring to watch, often incredibly forgettable or damning in their low quality that you'd be better off just skipping them. They're not something you could classify as terrible, but they're bad that you can hardly get enjoyment out of them.
2: More often this is an ironic rating, a show is so bad that it's good, resulting in pain induced hilarity that a monstrosity like this had been created. But on the other end, there are also shows mixed in this rating that are awful for very good reasons.
1: If you've somehow managed to get a rating like this from me, then the show is the pinnacle of trash. These are shows that are insulting, shocking, and baffling by any reason that they exist in this kind of condition at all. These are the type of shows I wouldn't recommend you to watch by all means, they're so awful that you're better off skipping them completely, because they'd leave a hole in your frontal lobe on how horrible they are.
Some notes on my scoring:
- I am frequently generous when it comes to providing scores
- Personal enjoyment is the most important on my rating
- While good animation is nice, I prefer a strong and well written narrative that holds up well, or at least an enjoyable ride throughout the watch
- I may be influenced by others how they perceive the show, but I try to keep that bias to a minimum
- I tend to leave notes on what I watch - the stronger the impression I received from a show, both positive and negative, I provide a more thorough personal view on it
