Something is a fad regardless of how you feel about it. A fad is simply a trend, or whatever's popular. Isekai happens to be a fad whose anime often have characteristics I'm not fond of, namely relying too much on exposition and fanservice. The magical girl genre was also a fad, but I greatly enjoyed Madoka Magica, which deviated from the usual. If you know an isekai anime that actually has good world-building and character development, I'd be happy to check it out and I might even really enjoy it, but that doesn't refute the fact that the isekai genre itself is a fad.

I think so. There are a lot of annoying and unfunny jokes, but aside from that I don’t think there are any major downsides to watching vanitas. I really like the lore of the vampire world, and I keep watching because I want to know more about why and how the world came to be what it is. The last episode hasn’t aired yet, but episode 6 was the best of the season, so if you get there and don’t like it, you’re wasting your time, it won’t get better from there
