I see I still have to watch the Konosuba movie, nice to know it's fun. ^^
It's hard to explain with spoiling things, so I'll keep things a bit vague. It's about a guy that moves to a town to live with his aunt and niece. Last time he was there was 7 years ago and he can't remember anything from back then. Then he meets people that do know him and well things happen. I can't really say much more. It's a bittersweet anime.
I already knew he was gonna choose Kirino as well, but the ending did disappointed me a lot. Not because he choose for Kirino, but because he was eventually alone, of course the last scene suggested something else. I've been told that the director had to change the ending, because they didn't wanted a to controversial ending or something. I still liked it a well, the characters where okay and it was pretty funny.
I really really like it so far, it really has lots and lots of twists. I still have no clue where it's heading, and I really like that fact. ^^
Yeah. I think it did alright, just because I love the hype around Mob's ???% state. It's not a very uncommon trump card to have an op ability in exchange for the MC suffering, but I just love how op Mob's is.
I agree to some extent on that. I really don't see it as a 'modern masterpiece' or a 'philosophical wonder' or anything like that either. Yes, I have actually read reviews that say that.
I love the fighting and I do agree that Mob does have it's ideological moments, however I also think that it's far away from a series solely being made for philosophical reasons, which is why these sorts of things, like hyping the fans up with the "family's death" are important.
So I don't really suggest that you listen to the reviews, since I see them as simply too partial on mixing their own feelings into their reviewing. I have nothing against it if they do so by expressing that they enjoyed it, but yeah, it's really hyped up.
I see you haven't watched Tokyo Ghoul yet. I find the last 2 episodes and some moments of the 2nd season to be quite psychological. It is kind of a hot mess of a series though, so i'd recommend watching only the 2 first seasons of the show.
Yeah definitely. I have quite a bunch of shows on my Plan To Watch currently. But i'm definitely curious as to what it can deliver.
Definitely. Mostly cause Gilgamesh wasn't really developed in the UBW franchise I feel like, so he didn't really make for a good villain character, nor a character able to replace the sympathetic villain role Archer had.
I don't think the family's death is supposed to be taken as something emotional, but rather just as something to rial the fans up for the next episode, atleast I didn't find any emotional value in that.
I had some issues with episode 2 & 3, in the sense that they needed to use subplots to develop Mob as a character instead of having a main plot where he could slowly develop. I really like how Reigen developed in episode 6 and 7 though, I found that to be a great arc.
I loved episode 5's animation. The fighting really got you hyped and it just looked awesome. I wish we would've got some more animation scenes with Mob in his ???% state, but I really liked the fight.
Overall it's on the brink of an 8 I think. I don't think it's as good as people think, but I don't think it's horrible either.
The fanbase is really dedicated to the show though, so I see where the amazing ratings are coming from.
Yes, I absolutely love Serial Experiments Lain, I think it's amazing. I don't wanna give you any spoilers or a specific way to watch it as that may change the experience for you, but yes. If you liked the psychological episodes in Evangelion I think you'll love Serial Experiments Lain, but the show is VERY different from normal anime.
I always watch the seasonals I'm interested after it has been fully released, I like to fully devote myself to one anime at the time. And them bingewatch it. From this season Yakusoku no Neverland and Kaguya-sama really caught my intrest, so I think I'll watch them someday soon.
It has good humor and really over-the-top action, in a good way. The charters are also good enough to keep the show interesting. It's also pretty wacky most of the times, really an anime that doesn't take itself all to serious. :)
Should you watch it? I have mixed feeling about it, there a lot of anime I would have enjoyed more, but in term of comedy it's really well done. So I you are a fan of comedy I would say give it a chance. And I heard from someone else that indeed it reminded him of Cowboy Bepop.
Hmm sounds interesting. It does have amazingly good ratings here on MAL, I haven't heard a lot of people speak of it though, i'll definitely add that on my Plan To Watch list! I think people have an issue with it being as old as it is and that may be an answer as to why it's as underground as it is despite it's success.
If you want something like an ideological clash, i'd say Fate/stay night unlimited blade works is what comes to my mind. It may be too shounen-ish for your tastes, however, it also presents you with that clash between ideologies and motivations, more intensified in the 2nd season though.
Edit: I saw you have seen that, what are your opinions on it? Also, Mob Psycho 2nd season came just finished airing, it's way more ideologically based than the first season and presents you with an amazing journey of emotion and thinking compared to the first season.
So what are your favorite characters? And what made them stick out to you?

I did, I saw Kanon (2006) and (2002) this week, really really liked it.
How about you?
Yeah I'm looking forward to watch it further, unfortunate I didn't have time today >_<
So what are you planning to watch next?
