I'm a 26 year old grad student who uses anime as a coping mechanism.
I love all types of anime EXCEPT for sad anime. (I refuse to watch Your Lie in April. I don't care if it's a masterpiece.)
When rating anime, I try to keep in mind its technical achievement (such as story, character development, voice acting, animation) along with my own personal enjoyment.
I have a special place in my heart for the Fate series--which I consider a moral failing on my part. Saber will always be best girl.
I watch both sub and dub depending on the situation. (I prefer sub, but I watch dub when I crochet.)
I took three years of Japanese in college, but I'm still very bad at it. Watching anime helps me retain some of my vocabulary. My dream is to visit Japan some day.
Other than anime I like Star Wars, fantasy novels (such as Game of Thrones, Wheel of Time, and Mistborn), horror movies, my dog, the classic rock band Queen, bubble tea, and crocheting.
