Left-winger who enjoys reading. I'm 189cm tall and have a penchant for good tea, though I prefer coffee these days. I enjoy warmer climes, and as such yearn to flee my country of birth for a more southerly location. I like classic literature, sunshine and black pepper. I don't read anywhere near as much manga as I should...or really any at all. Don't judge me for it :-(.
I take a laid-back yet jaded view on life, and loath anything dubbed. Subtitles ftw.
I like comments, especially random ones from out of nowhere. So if you're just passing by, leave a message or stop for tea =D. Unless you like earl grey. That's unacceptable.

I was just looking at you're profile and l was wondering if
Honey and Clover (anime) is any good ?
Now I just remembered the Eureka Seven film! It came out quite some time ago but I haven't watched it yet and I haven't really heard anything about it. Do you plan on watching it? I wonder if it was any good... I want to see it anyway! Oh and I also really want to read the manga, it seems good but I haven't read it yet because it's action and I'm not a big fan of action manga. I hope I can be in the mood sometime and then get to read it~
Well, truth is, I go to bed around 4am every night. I don't have anything to do so I just stay awake as much as I want and sleep as much as I want. It's really relaxed, but I actually woke up early that day and did some shopping with my mother and the net day I woke up early because of all the noise in the house. So it was just not a good day to read manga 13 hours without any breaks... (?)
MAL has helped me finding a lot of manga titles through the recommendations! But it has never really helped me with anime.
I remember I saw "Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei" and fell for the title. It's one of my favourites now~ There was some others too but I can't think of them right now. Of course it can go wrong! There are still some awesome titles I just can't start liking.
Hihi, yeah. I'm starting to become a big manga maniac. I read a manga a few days ago and it was so good I couldn't stop reading. So I read manga until 7am... And I got sick right after. It was still worth it~
Haha, I have a few friends who use long and complicated English words and I have to check dictionary.com all the time! But I doubt I will get much better, I don't like using words I'm not sure are right.
There was no really big problems because of the cold. But I guess Norway is more prepared for cold winters. x3
You're lucky that gets recommended good anime! When I started watching I didn't know a lot of other people who liked it and I didn't know about any communities. I wanted more anime all the time and it was hard to find something I liked. I watched series I liked the title of, usually. "This title is catchy, maybe I like it~" I guess it worked somehow.
To be 100% honest here I must admit that I don't know much about university prices or stuff like that. But I guess normal universities don't cost an awful a lot, not compared to the private ones. I know I should know more about this but it's just... I never listen to the important messages. I'm more like "Well, I have to go to the university so I don't care about the prices at all, I'll pay somehow~" I always have this lazy "it'll work out somehow" attitude. Because it does, it always works out some way or another.
Most people who learn a third language here, like Spanish, French og German, don't really care about it at all. I didn't, It's not really useful anyway, though I guess it can help a bit for understanding other languages later. I don't know.
I've actually heard that before! "You write better English than some people born in England" but I don't know. I like writing good English because I hate looking like an idiot and I feel that if I write in a poor language no one will take me seriously. I am an idiot but I don't like looking like one! I always pretend I'm better than I am~ My English has been failing these last two-three years because I don't use it half as much as I used to, but I try to keep it at an OK level.
How cold it gets? Mmm. I don't live in the coldest part of Norway but we had like -24 or -25 degrees celsius here at the coldest I think. I don't know but I don't think we went under -30. To be honest, and again, I didn't leave the house so much to care for how cold it was... It's warmer now anyway and there's a looot of snow! I've very much liked this cold winter, probably because I wasn't outside so much... But I really wish I could be outside more! I love cold weather. Did you have any problems with the cold winter?
Eureka Seven just gets better the more you see. There are a lot of characters and some of their stories are very good. One of the stories, around the end, made me cry even~
I see you started Mushishi! Again one of my very favourite series! It's so feel-good and nice, I never want to finish it! I still have it on my watching list, haha.
When you mention it I can see that Makoto Shinkai's work are intense, I never really thought about it that way before. Lazier kind of artwork can also be very nice! One of my favourite styles got to be how Honey and Clover looks. Kimi ni Todoke old has a really cute style, I love the character design and the colours. I haven't watched Bokura ga Ita! I've seen very little shoujo anime because I'm afraid it's too much shoujo for me, I'm not the biggest fan of the genre.
I have friends that are far better than me at Japanese, some study it at the university, so I can't really brag. I usually pretend I know nothing so that I won't make a fool of myself when I try. I'm aiming for the university as well this school year, hoping I can get in and study Japanese there, I'm far too lazy to do it on my own. Watching a lot of anime really helped me, and listening to Japanese music. Hearing the language a lot make it easier to catch sentences and understand, I guess. Here in Norway we learn English from quite an early age and I had German in middle school, but I never really cared too much to learn those languages. I refused to study English a long long time because I didn't see how I would have use for it. ...Then I turned 13 and started playing online games. I learned English pretty quick after that! But I'm still far from how good I'd like to be, I often feel rather stupid when writing English because I can't get the right words out.
I also love my profile picture! It's Horo from Spice and Wolf, really good anime. A bit different and complicated but very cute and it has wonderful music. One of my very favourite series with some of the best characters.
These comments always turn out longer than I planned them to be... x3
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo and 5cm per Second can't really be compared at anything, at least not the art as you said. I still like the art style in Toki wo Kakeru shoujo a lot. It has it's charm and the colours and character design fits very well to the story. But it would be nice if everything could be as beautiful as Makoto Shinkai's creations.
My Japanese isn't much to brag about... I can understand conversations pretty well and read Japanese manga with furigana but making my own sentences is a bit too hard yet, I can make small ones, but no bigger conversations. I've practised a lot of kanji lately, so I'm getting a bit better but I'm pretty much just a starter. I think I'm rather good at learning languages, despite my mild form of dyslexia, concentration problems and laziness. I'm good at understanding from listening to the language but I'm very bad with rules.
I'm actually not good at conversing at all~ In case you didn't notice. :>
It's been ages since I saw Ouran, so I probably wouldn't like it as much now. I was the third anime I saw or something... But I watched two times now and liked it. The humour is great~ And the characters are good.
The opening music isn't really a good thing to judge the series after! It can work in some cases, though. Like all typical ero-ge anime has the same typical opening themes... But they're not always relevant to the series. I saw an awesome opening once and thought "Oh! I need to watch this show!" but the show was boring and stupid... I can't remember which it was now, but some random shounen series.
I'm not really into shounen either but I liked Eureka Seven and Claymore. I'm more of the seinen type~ and shoujo, of course.
I give waaaay to many 10's! I'm trying to hold back but when I watch something I get so totally into and and love it so much I have to give it a 10 and when I started watching anime I just loved everything. I don't agree so much with my scores anymore. Sometimes I try to rewatch the anime to see if it gave me a different impression, but it always ends with "kyaaa I love this show! *keeps 10*"
I fail like that..
Thanks, Shuuji is awesome. <3 I like him very much~ (as well as some other guys from Honey and Clover but I guess I like him the most)
I've given a lot of 10's, haha, but Eureka Seven is really good. Some parts are a bit boring, but I was left with a really good feeling and a lot of it was awesome. The ending is a bit off, though. I don't know which grade I would give it NOW if I watched it, it's been two years or so since I saw it. But I'm sure I'd still like it!
Seeing you like Honey and Clover I also want to recommend Nodame Cantabile. It's not the same but still it has a lot of the same mood as Honey and Clover has. A lot of people don't seem to like the anime, because it's sort of lazy with the animation. But I still like it! The story is really good.
Random comments are great~
Wow I didn't know it had hit the UK that bad. Here you can't get any kind of job right now... even nurses go unemployed.
Good luck finding a job!
