From the looks of it, not even psychiatrists who prescribe these meds fully comprehend what effects they might have on the bodies and minds of those who take it; but on the other hand, if nothing else works, what other choice is there but to take them? I guess "toughing it out" is an option, but it's cruel in its own way. Some years ago, even before I visited psychiatrist for the first time, I had a time period when I couldn't sleep for several days at all. It might sound like a simple issue (like what's the big deal?) but at a time because of my inability to fall asleep for such a prolonged time period I've been experiencing very strong urges to "walk out of the window". That is to say, perhaps if I had some kind of sleeping drugs or at least something to help my nervous system relax, it wouldn't come to such mentally draining days. Still, in the end things normalized on their own at some point even without meds, so I don't know what's really the best course of action to mental health issues.
That's very considerate of you to take care of spoilers for possible readers of our conversation :P, although I'm not sure if anyone reads comments on other peoples profiles at all.
Damn, that wiki with its spoilers strikes again! There was a time I spoiled myself something too because of it, although it was very minor so it didn't impact the way I perceive things at all. I typically try to avoid visiting it (or any such places) until I finish playing the latest game in the series. But yeah, with him, Weissmann and some other characters Falcom are masters of hiding antagonists in the ranks of normal-looking NPCs, though as of now I can't remember if I suspected Joachim or not when I've been playing the game. Considering their role in the main events that happen across the series, D∴G cult seem to be one of the most prominent organizations in the series, but its lack of named NPCs make it less obvious then the likes of Ouroboros, Septian Church and the Bracer Guild.
I agree about Tio, I think she was the definitive star of Zero and perhaps even the whole arc.
I'll gladly read your thoughts about the second game once you're done with it.
I find your fears about relying on meds in the antidepressant thread very relatable. When I've been stopping using them I felt anxiety about the fact that "I might start feeling worse if I stop taking them" and even nowadays a thought of taking them again crossed my mind whenever I start feeling really bad. Scary stuff.
Also, thanks for joining the club. I'm still not sure what I'm going to use it for, but it's nice having a fellow Kiseki fan there.
If you make such a list, I'll gladly take a look at it. That said, personally I think small lists are better (~10-20 characters) because the last time I tried to rank them all things got really messy. It's really hard to compare some of the characters especially those in the middle and at the bottom of the list. What I like to do is limit myself by the number of slots - so for example 1 character per game + some arbitrary slots, e.g. the "top-1".
I agree, their dynamics play off of each other very nicely, and I think they did well giving each character in the main party their time to shine. I do wish some of the supporting characters got more screen time, though. Yeah, it’s all very fascinating how the fantasy creatures contribute to the dungeon’s ecosystem, and the extra layer on top of cooking them as well is great.
I don’t blame you for wanting to read the manga, lol. But I am so glad that it is already confirmed to have a season 2, since a lot of anime don’t get one.
Also, as a side note, this would lowkey be perfect as a video game, since it’s already very structured like one.
That’s fair, they did make it really hard to dislike pretty much anyone lol. I feel like everyone has got something that makes them super endearing. I'm still warming up to Izutsumi, but Falin is one of my favorites too!!! She is just so precious, I hope she can rejoin the party at some point. Laios would probably be one of my favorites too since he’s such a lovable goofball, and his enthusiasm to eat whatever monster he can is so funny to me lol.
Yes, I'm really enjoying it! It has such a lovely and colorful cast of characters that I just adore so much AHHHHHHH. I also love how much it goes in depth about all the creatures and stuff too. Btw Do you have a favorite character from the show?
I think you made the right decision to play Zero & Ao before continuing Erebonia arc further. In the Cold Steel III & IV case, like you've mentioned, it adds a lot to worldbuilding and helps understand the events that are unfolding better, whereas for Hajimari playing Crossbell arc is pretty much mandatory and it's likely more fun to jump to it from CSIV rather than Ao. It's nice hearing you're having a great time, although I have to repress the urge to comment on things to avoid spoiling anything haha. So instead I'll just mention that part about Estelle and your potential top-10 characters list - one of my friends sometimes makes fun of me by calling me Estelle hater because whenever we bring up anything related to favorites or tier lists or ranks or whatever else she's nowhere to be found in mine. The funny thing is, I think she's an amazing protagonist, but there are many other characters who impressed me more on a personal level. I think it just goes to show how great the characters in this series are.
In that case, I wish you a wonderful journey; it's going to be interesting to read what you might say about the game and its characters.
Hopefully it will reignite your interest for the series and you'll play the rest sooner rather than later as well.
yeah vanillaware really tried their best for this game and it shows in just how different each character is visually and personality wise. i haven't played it myself but i did watch a playthrough of it, that game's story is really good!
yeah people really want something bloodborne related, hopefully we'll get something considering it's their 10th year anniversary. ah no i haven't, i've been meaning to check it out along with persona 3 reload, just waiting for a sale. i did check out unicorn overlord which has been really fun!
yeah that's understandable, it kinda feels like a game that's built around the co-op section of the souls games which might not click with everyone. though will be interesting to see how it'll connect to the lore. that would be interesting, though back in like 2021 there were rumors of a project called velvet veil which people speculated to be a spiritual successor to bloodborne so it'll be interesting to see if that project was real or if it still exist

Only if I had a lot of extra cash on hand :P

Would you purchase a Duvalie plush?
