I currently live in central Mexico so all the snow is limited to mountain tops or summits. They must be even more chilly than these hilltops.
I'm loving my Uniball Jetstream and my new Kingston that I got for Christmas.
I hope that you had a wonderful birthday as of late. Not sure if you're a Scorpio or an early Sagittarius.
A semitomboy that I haven't seen in ages that is married to a Chinese man was a Scorpio (born on mid November) that loved sci-fi. Definitely 37 years old by now and I hope that she loved Second Story R.
As we can see, Halloween is practically next door and I've started reading City Hunter not too long ago.
I also look forward to reading indie comics besides Copperhead, my other favorite space western.
That is, thank you for the birthday wishes as of late.
Silent Möbius QD was great and it's a better sci-fi manga than the last several volumes of Kurogane no Linebarrel. I can see why my semitomboyish friend from North Carolina hates Linebarrels of Iron somewhat. It's nowhere nearly as good as Big O or Ghost in the Shell either.
As for linguistics, I found out that Southern Min has simpler particles with more consistent grammatical function than Japanese. I kind of disagree with that Taiwanese guy saying that his language is too complicated.
Again, I'm replaying Wild Arms 2 to extend my Japanese via dialogue that got poorly translated by Sony. Every time those crazy bipedal reptilian characters attempt haiku or poetry, the translation goes to waste.
Everyone knows that this old tech company is fail at localizing Japanese imports. I've been told that their Aniplex company are highway robbers, charging people too much for anime.
Good thing I have nigh 7th grade level Japanese so that I'll buy Japanese imports directly from Japan. I'll probably get my Japanese to high school level when I finish reading dialogue in Wild Arms 2. High enough to read many Raw manga like Silent Möbius and its sequel.
As you can see, Wild Arms 2 came out before voice acting got completely mainstream. Not recommended for dislexic people. You also have to read its heavy dialogue to enjoy it.
Never heard of that manga, but I'm glad to see that you are enjoying it.
You're welcome by the way.
I finished playing Grandia and have moved on to Wild Arms 2 while picking up extra Japanese along the way.
That music that plays in towns sounds very much like Trigun.
Other than that, Happy New Year! :D
Me? Just making Japanese part of my Jack of all trades expansion pack as usual.
As for Asuka Langley, some very interesting Italian tomboy told me how much that character and EVA meant to her.
Who knows if she got a chance to read Dominion after all these years, but I bet she'll love it considering the fact that her beloved Masamune Shirow made it.
With a Japanese copy of Wild Arms 2, my jōyō kanji will get even better. That game's script may have way more kanji than GBC JRPGs. Everyone knows that Japanese children's games have kanas in place of Chinese characters.
It's true that Bee Train's Twilight Venom series=/=Wild Arms 2, but both are true to the western genre and so is Cowboy Bebop.
If you're looking for a very original manga, then yes! I would recommend it. My Brazilian penpal wanted to read past volume 8 which the adaptation stopped, but has struggled to make time for Japanese lessons. Japanese is no easy language for everyone and I knew a semitomboy with an Asian husband that speaks the language very proficiently. I think that she may have been a transfer student that got taken to Japan by her parents.
Lum Chang's origin story is different in the manga and didn't get introduced until volume 9. That Chinese exorcist never made contact with anyone outside the special police unit she got transferred to according to said manga.
Overall, it's a very good manga and for me, it's a good reason to pick up more Japanese vocabulary until I get to the sequel QD.
Both Silent Möbius and the sequel QD are very, very different than mainstream manga, but so is Hokuto no Ken.
I thank the late Boyé Lafayette de Mente for teaching me Japanese through his old book. That is, Instant Japanese which is the best proxy teacher ever.
Also wow! You have great taste in anime. By the way, it's been a while since I last watched Rose of Versailles.
As for manga, I'm rereading Silent Möbius long after Sorcerer Hunters.
So you're watching Gintama that's great.
Well let me give you an advice.
Just for the information.
The first Episodes and the following first Episodes can be quite average.
I know that it can be for many people. So maybe for you as well.
But it will improve a lot afterwards.
So I hope you will keep on watching Gintama
