My favorite genres (not only in anime) are Sci-Fi, Post-Apocalyptic, Mystery, Psychological Thriller, Western, Supernatural, Drama and Mafia.
I first watched anime in feb 2021 and I mostly watched 22-26 episode'shows since I am used to that length which I consider great for a story in general but I also watched OVAs with a few episodes, 11-13 episode anime and longer ones like DN (37 eps) and Monster (74 eps). I mostly like less known/unpopular shows with mixed reviews.
I love both character and plot-driven stories with psychology, philosophy and a dark atmosphere. Character-wise, I love odd, nuanced and morally-grey characters. Story--wise, I love uneven, creative and weird routes. I love atmospheric OSTs, I don't need a crazy world-building, a realistic one is enough, I'm not fully into surreal/experimental stories, I accept it if a traditional direction is kept overall.
Other animes I liked very much: Gilgamesh (2003), Blassreiter Argento Soma, Noir, Madlax, Elfen Lied, Zetsuen No Tempest, Hell's Girl, Dorei-Ku, Paranoia Agent, Mnemosine, Witch Hunter Robin, BGC Tokyo 2040, Ghost Hunt, Glass Fleet, Death Note (especially 2nd half), Intrigue in the Bakumatsu, RahXephon, Le Chevalier d'Eon, Gungrave, Akagi and Mirai Nikki.
