The reply will come later, but for now, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, my dude! Best of luck with your Japanese studies and finally letting go of your current job, so that you could introduce your asshole manager to Oivia's treasure trail as soon as possible :D
Ouch, that story hit pretty close to home. Working for a shit corporation is bad (but at least every door at that call center was keycard protected, so I could daydream about working at the Umbrella Corporation from Resident Evil :D), but busting your ass for some shady fellow is, arguably, even worse. The dudes I've been working for established some small company which was supposed to make sonic toothbrushes in London, but in reality, these were some brandless Chinese toothbrushes already available on the market, except these guys sold them under a different name, for a higher price. The fact that I actually wrote the instruction manual for that shit makes my blood boil. If only I realized it was a scam sooner, you know? At least my name isn't associated with them in any other way. Such controlled firings were a normal thing when I was working for them as well, simply because they wanted to pay less to their employees, so with time they decided to stick to less people. At least we both got out of this crap.
And thanks for the motivation :) Here's hoping that by next year I'll pass the N3 level exam and best of luck to you in your job. -> No problem, and thanks to you too :) I'm planning to stick to the current employer until June or something, afterwards I'll either swap them out for someone who pays more or actually find another company like this and will try to work for two employers at the same time. Most employers want you to spend at least 2 years in the copywriting business, but my problem is that those scammers I worked for for the last year don't seem to work as a believable workplace on my CV. Everybody wants to see people who actually worked for the companies that matter, luckily my current employer is one of such enterprises. Still, that N3 exam sounds pretty brutal, I'd probably nail the oral part after some preparation, but, like in case of my Chinese courses at the University, the writing is what I'd totally fail at. *laughs* Funny you mention Fujiko's voice actress, in my case, the Japanese VA who really made me appreciate the language was Maetel's seiyuu in Galaxy Express 999. Such a different way of acting compared to the modern squeakfests and "Ara-Ara" spewing MILFs :D
Haha, are you going to Platinum all of the DMCs? :D I almost succeeded at that, but DMC 4 SE and DMC V were too much for me. I'd also add DmC: Devil May Cry to the list, as controversial as it is. The story is edgy as hell, Vergil's DLC is a piece of hot garbage, but the actual gameplay isn't all that bad (awful enemy designs and even worse bosses aside). I actually liked this game more than DMC 2 and even 4. Speaking of PSN, what's your ID? I'd totally send you a friend request :D
But I'll stop talking about mods, I know this was bit much, but modding is all I do in Fallout 4 nowadays, so sorry. :D -> No need to apologize, always a good time to see someone getting really passionate about something :D Admittedly, I stick to consoles as far as gaming goes so I'm missing on a lot of stuff regarding mods, but rest assured, even I can see how such modifications can make the game so much better :D *stares at the PTRS-41 screenshot* ...came for the gun, stayed for that glorious fashion sense :D Is that the NCR Ranger armor, aka the greatest armor set ever conceived by Fallout developers? :D Man, I was so depressed that it's not in the main game, I always hated the Brotherhood of Steel and supported the Enclave instead (you can probably tell that I didn't like Fallout 3's main plot :D), so seeing them getting a cool new look in New Vegas was amazing :D Also, I love how your anime girl has that smiling, blushing face all the time, definitely screams "SOMEBODY TOOK MY KID" :D Clearly, a woman broken by the horrors of Wasteland. I'll get to Fallout 4 eventually, but first I must take care of all of that... *stares at the pile of games* ...unholy shit. The Outer Worlds, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, NFS Payback, A Hat In Time, Just Cause 4, Dark Souls 3, Nioh... WHY DID THE PAST ME START ALL OF THESE LONG GAMES?!
In all honesty, it sounds 100% plausible, I mean, we already had Mysterious Heroine X, aka a literal Saber clone sent to eliminate other Saber clones (and from what I'm seeing, she's kinda bad at it). I'd still love to see Darth Luvia more, we need more drill hair. I took a liking to it because of the "you piece of shit" expression she's making with her face. -> Isn't that the default Rin look, though? :D Well, it's official now, Yatagarasu8 is into masochism. ...actually, I can empathize, just replace the tsundere with an ojou in my case. Ohohohoing rich bitches is where it's at :D ...and yet none of my friends shares the sentiment. *laughs*
Yeah, it's not only stressful, but filled with corporate bullcrap from top to bottom. For example, you're not allowed to have your phone with you, just in case you'd want to steal some confidential data. So if you have an ill relative or something, tough luck, they won't reach you because your phone's in the locker. At first, my impression was the same as yours - pretty easy job, just talk to people on the phone. Boy, how wrong I was. The shit they were teaching us was the most soulless propaganda ever, complete with the usual "you must sound happy all the time and never use words like "however" or admit it was our company's fault even if it totally was". Oh, and my team managers? They used fuckin' gifs of Homura and Madoka from Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica during the presentations. I hated this show before, hate it even more because of that place now. So if you ask me, if you enjoy your job even if it doesn't make as much as your previous job, than you still win in my book. -> I agree. We spend so much time working that forcing ourselves to go to work we hate would just kill our wills to live. Hell, my job at the call center made me the most miserable man even in a matter of a single month. Every morning I was like "fuck that place, I don't wanna go back, if they'll fire me, so be it, I can't stand it anymore". Then I got my second job, which was also copywriting. They fired me for wanting a raise, after a year of working for a pathethic payment, as they grew more wealthy. I had to write not only articles, but also pretend to be other people and comment on my own stuff to get some fake views, can you believe that illegal shit? 9 months into that thing, I just lost all motivation because I was scamming people for shitty money. My current job is my third one and while it doesn't pay much, at least I feel like I'm doing something with my life, helping young companies get more popular and fixing product descriptions at stores to make them more coherent and rich in info. Third time's the charm, eh? I know this is a weeb thing to say, but I just find the language fucking beautiful, although sometimes the ultra-high pitch chirping of anime girls ruins it for me. -> Haha, maybe a little weeb, yeah :D It's still cool though, at least you're putting some real effort into it, instead of learning like 5 words on Rosetta Stone and then telling everyone how big of an expert the anime has turned you into :D The Japanese language does sound good though, I may be more of a China person as much as Asian preferences go, but Japanese is easily the best language ever for singing, the way they chain those vowels is unlike any language we know. Even our Phonology professor said that Japanese is considered the best language for music, and I totally agree. With that being said, all the power to you, hopefully you'll realize this grand dream of yours and never lose motivation before reaching the finish line :D
Ohhh, congrats on beating DMC V! :D You really can't go wrong with the older games, aside of DMC 2 :D 4 is decent, but I didn't like the way they structured its campaign, basically, you play as Nero for half of the game, then as Dante, with his half of the story being you literally beating Nero's stages backwards and fighting the same exact bosses, except with Dante's playstyle. DMC 1 is still my favourite from the original trilogy, it might not be as bombastic as 3, but the gothic horror feel it has, combined with more exploration-based gameplay, was just awesome. I agree that V's chapters in DMC V were lackluster, but at least we got some easy SSS combos with the guy, so some credit is due :D
Nice, you'll probably enjoy the Observer's first few hours, when it still plays like a darker Blade Runner-esque story, set in southern Poland. It does start falling apart somewhere around the second visit to the dream realm, which is when the game gradually becomes more and more linear and filled with nonsensical visions, sensory overloads of blinking lights and noise and some shitty stealth sections, featuring the instakill monster. Funny you mention Fallout 4, I actually bought the GOTY Edition on PSN two weeks ago, still didn't start it yet.
What!? When did this happen!? Where can I get one of those!? You have to tell me!! :D -> Got it in one of these cursed mystery boxes you buy from shady people from Deep Web. I don't recommend it though, 4 out of 5 packages contain anthrax instead :<
Haha, I just had to look for Space Ishtar as soon as I finished the previous message, had to dig through a lot of porn to find her. I actually like her "Darth Rin" form the most, the space cowgirl just isn't that cool, even if she's supposed to be a tomboy instead of cool tsundere in that form. I swear though, the whole Fate lore just makes my head spin now, I'm trying to comprehend it from time to time and I always fail miserably :D ...your Space Ishtar is still much cooler than mine though. *laughs* That third form she has is pretty decent looking too.
Yo, sorry for taking ages with the reply, sticking to replying to shorter messages first and my recent financial turmoils really took their toll here. I've been pushing myself to the limit recently (my salary is based on how many articles I'll write) in order to pay off the bills and rent, so my brain is half-fried.
Oh, I see, sounds like the schedule the security officers at my old man's workplace have. Like you said, it's a double edged sword, but still sounds better than other form of corporate slavery, aka call center :D It was actually my first job ever and it didn't last long. It was the typical Monday-Friday, 8-hour schedule, but with lots of spying on each worker. Every PC had this program called PAUL, which always checked if you've spent exactly 8 hours sitting on the phone. Got an explosive diarrhea and spend 15 minutes in the shitter? You're not going home with the others, you're working it off here and now. The pay was great though, but it wasn't worth having a mental breakdown and watching other people cry after nearly every workday. I'm a copywriter now and while I'm not getting paid as much, it's still so much better. I'm even writing for SEAT recently, so the amount of renowned companies I worked for is rising. Kinda wish Nissan would contact our company, they're my favourite car make. No worries though, I'm sure you'll manage to find something with better atmosphere soon :) But only after paying a visit to my section manager and telling him to go lick my butthole. -> Bruh, that's easy mode, tell him to lick Olivia's armpits instead :D
Haha, while I do admit that Dante's theme was a rough wake up call to me, I actually ended up loving it. Especially this part. I'd say Nero's theme and King Cerberus' theme are my two favourite songs from the game :D Subhuman does actually fit Dante's new hobo style, it's my favourite design of him so far, and that comes from the guy who used to adore DMC 1 Dante. He looks like this cool uncle from the trailer park you'd love to hang out with because he keeps blowing stuff up in his back yard, but your parents say no :D Speaking of graphics, Capcom has been killing it recently with the RE Engine. I remember firing up RE 2 Remake and being blown away by how good that damn hamburger in the Intro looked :D
It's just..... that Kirito guy. It may be because I've seen too many memes about him, but whenever see him, I want my character to punch him in the face. -> You and me both, my dude. I wouldn't mind a solid Third Person shooter with J-RPG elements, but I just can't bring myself to play SAO, as I couldn't stand the anime. The only Isekai games I like are Assassin's Creed. *laughs* Still need to play .Hack, though, I've got it installed on my PS4, but didn't feel like actually starting it yet.
I also got my hands on AI: The Somnium Files recently. -> Oh yeah, I've heard about it, but didn't feel like giving it a shot yet. It just felt too similar to Zero Escape and Danganronpa, with some silly animal trapping people in some shithole and killing them. I love 999, but the other two Zero Escape games were a little bit too weird to me. From what you're saying though, it appears that the protagonist is a better version of Sigma from Virtue's Last Reward, being a pervy adult, but the eye AI actually has potential. The idea of exploring people's subconsciousness reminds me of this one Polish adventure/horror game titled The Observer, where you're also playing as a detective who keeps hooking himself up to the victims and suspects in order to relive their memories. It was a solid game in the first one-third, but then it devolved into a derpy horror about forgotten family issues, the favourite theme of Polish developers, sadly. I might give Somnium Files a go one day, from what you're saying, it does seem more interesting than Zero Escape and Danganronpa. All of these games start off great, until the sequels come out and the developers are trying super hard to blow your mind.
because Makise Kurisu is the best thing that happened to the world of science. Ever. -> *clings to his Neil DeGrasse Tyson body pillow* :<
In short, I f*cking loved it. -> Great to hear that! :D Yeah, this show subverted my expectations hard, major props go to the actresses for actually screaming instead of going "eeeeehhhh?!" every few minutes. Man, Maeda invited the true unseen darkness to this show, to this day we'll never know why the hell did the grandpa made a friggin' sex doll that looks like his granddaughter :D
By the way, is that Ishtar on your avatar? Never seen that design before, but it sure is superior to the real thing :D There goes No Nut November.
I see, hopefully you'll be able to take a well deserved break now :) but that's just how it is when you're working 12 hour shifts. -> All I can picture in my head now is you working at the car store, 5 minutes before the end of the shift, and then a customer comes over and asks for a test drive at 6.55 PM :D Stay strong mate. Admittedly, I've been watching little to no anime myself for a longer while now. Partially because of work, partially because games keep hoarding my free time.
By the way, if you're open for recommendations and don't mind messed up sense of humour, I totally recommend Asobi Asobase :D It's technically the usual Slice of Life about three schoolgirls, but it's an actual antithesis of the cutesy moe stuff, without coming off as needlessly edgy or tryhard.
Yeah, that's another reason why I'm really disappointed by the Classics section in the PS Store. It's like Sony got themselves every single major Rockstar game and some random picks here and there, as far as the PS2 games go. Hah, I remember Kojima saying that ZOE 3 was supposed to be heavily inspired by the Lord of the Rings movies, taking place in the ancient times or something. Yeeeeeeaaaaaah, that could go one way or another. Then again, I'd take this over Metal Gear Survive any day. Regarding Taro, I remember him saying that he wanted Nier 2 to be a mobile game focused around maintaining your own farm or something, but his team really opposed this idea. I've got to say, those brave people have saved the series from certain death, because that sonds like something Suda51 would come up with nowadays. I agree about Square Enix, if they even went as far as including Noctis in Tekken 7, making a sequel to Automata is just a formality to them. Still not sure what to think of FF VII Remake being episodic though. I guess it depends on how long a single episode will be and how are they going to handle the World Map - I'd love to pilot the Highwind with modern graphics.
Yup, you're 100% right - the developers over there simply rely on popularity charts, sticking to the "waifus and trendy tropes will sell our game" approach. It's been a long time since I've played a J-RPG which didn't feel like a formulaic title, with mundane quests at the tavern/guild and dungeons which are just corridors without any puzzles to them. Back in my Middle/High School days, I used to ignore Western games completely, buying J-RPGs without even reading any reviews for them, because seeing an anime-styled cover was the only recommendation I needed :D Nowadays, it's kinda-sorta the opposite - I stick to the Western franchises. Oh wow, Fairy Fencer F... I remember the awful grind to get like 1000 million Gold or something on my way to Platinum, took me longer than beating the game twice, even with the DLC dungeon. As for Persona 5, I've played it and I still didn't like it, but that's because I generally grew out of Persona myself - the struggles of animu teenagers are just silly to me. I will say this though - the game does fix a lot of problems I had with Persona 4 (I didn't like this game even back when I played it on the PS2, despite of really liking Persona 3, which I also find silly now), especially the dungeons, which felt like legitimate locations, as opposed to being randomly generated corridors. I also liked how Social Links give you new perks as well, but I'd rather play a more mature SMT title, like Nocturne, Raidou Kuzunoha or Digital Devil Saga. Hell, even Soul Hackers was awesome. Basically, give me an adult protagonist and preferrably a Sci-Fi setting and I'll be back onboard the SMT hype train. *laughs* Although I would like if Valimar could be piloted more often. -> Same. Unfortunately, you will only use it when the game tells you to. I'm only halfway through the game or something, but the only thing they added is the fact that you can enhnce his stats by crafting some orbs he can equip.
Speaking of mechs, never would have thought that I'd encounter another Armored Core enthusiast in my lifetime, so finding a fellow raven after many years is pretty nice :D -> Likewise! :D I remember buying Armored Core 2 back when I was 18 or something and I returned it to the store the very same day because the game was just too complicated to me - not enough story (and anime girls in skintight bodysuits) and way too much difficulty. Then, 5 years later, I actually bought Armored Core Nexus and I fell in love with this game. Afterwards, I bought AC 2 again and ended up going through the franchise game after game :) Admittedly, I stopped at For Answer because V and Verdict Day were too Multiplayer-centered for my liking (which is ironic, considering that V seems to finally give ACs with tank treads some attention and that's the mech type I'm using in every game), but if they'll ever go back to the formula of the PS2 games, I'll be super happy. I generally adore this franchise, the old-school feel of AC2, the great story of AC3 (and Silent Line), the overall dark, haunting atmosphere of Nexus and Last Raven and even 4 and For Answer, which feel more like the prototypes of the new AC formula, especially 4, but the fights against these giant bases were amazing. *cough* Even if White Glint will never measure up to Nineball, that's one thing those PS3 installments lacked to me - Nineball was the iconic villain of the series who always came back one way or another (usually as some optional Arena enemy), but not seeing him in 4 anymore was a little disappointing. I also wasn't a fan of music in 4 - it had great tracks (Rain and Megalopolis are wonderful), but relied too heavily on that choir from the Opening, I could've sworn that this track plays every two levels. Admittedly, I've missed out on the PSX installments, but Nexus contains a second disc, which has the most important levels from these games, remastered in Nexus' graphics. Like always, it also had a great music - can you believe that the bomb disposal mission has a theme song like this? Man, is Kota Hoshino a great composer. And before you'll ask, yes, I did listen to the music from V and Verdict Day and I also loved it. I'd say that Nexus has the best music in the series to me, with the worst OST belonging to Last Raven, probably because the music was made to fit the dark, bleak feel of this game.
I can see why, Neptunia does seem to have a personality which can be hit or miss to some people. I definitely agree about the original and MK 2 - these are easily the black sheeps of the series, even if the grimdark ending of the second game, where Nepgear kills everyone before going insane was downright hilarious to me, because of how serious it suddenly tries to be, after hours of dirty jokes, fighting dogoos and generally making me want to put a gun in my mouth. *laughs* I still need to finish this game to get to Victory, but it is hard. Even 5pb being a teammate doesn't help. I did manage to get the Platinum in Action U (the grind was, once again, awful), still need to play Producing Perfection. I'd probably get to it faster if it had Plutia in it. Admittedly, rhythm games aren't my kind of games, but I really enjoyed playing Project Diva F. I never liked Vocaloids for sounding too artificial, but Sega really did a great job at rearranging the tracks, allowing Miku to sound pretty good this time around. But when it comes to me losing my rhythm game virginity, oh boy, it was with Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit. Not a good game either, so welcome to the club. *laughs*
Haha, thanks, I often end up fantasizing about how awesome a RWBY game by Platinum would've been, because that would probably work. If they would give it gunplay straight out of Vanquish and mix it up with MGR's melee combat, I'd honestly start believing that Weiss is the best girl. *laughs* I still need to give Grimm Eclipse a go, but there are other PS4 games I need to buy after getting the actual console. *cough* I mean, Bloodborne is almost like RWBY because it has transforming weapons and monster crows, right? I never fas a fan of mobile games, but maybe I'll try it out once it comes out. After all, it can't be worse than FF: All The Bravest, eh?
By the way, my PSN ID is VincentArisato, if you want to slap my asscheeks with a friend request :D
No problem, that was actually quite fast - I sometimes get replies even after a week or two, even longer than that :D
Yeah, I remember feeling the same about Suda51, but then he kinda-sorta forgot how to make decent games. Either that, or his weirdness has finally started to take its toll on him. I really miss his style from Killer7 and No More Heroes. At least there's still Hideo Kojima - granted, he used to make MGS games only after MGS 3 skyrocketed his ego and ended up ignoring Zone of the Enders completely, but now that he's finally done with Konami and making new IPs, I'm satisfied. Now Taro on the other hand... I don't know what to think of the guy, he's got some really cool imagination, but from the gameplay perspective... Ouch, was Drakengard 3 bad. I didn't have problems with the original Nier though, so I'd say that I'm more curious whether a new Taro game is going to be decent or not, rather than expecting either a hit or disaster. The fact that Nier is supposed to get a sequel already because of Automata's sales (and 2B's ass) is also giving me some mixed feelings - I'm not really a fan of something getting too popular and then losing all of its charm. Kinda like the Star Wars and Marvel movies every year. I've played the first two Drakengard games (still own the first one too, it's like 12 years old now, man, does looking at this box brings back memories) and... I actually like the first one, it's a Dynasty Warriors clone which starts off as a very generic Fantasy before devolving into the Drakengard we know (and being the most messed up title in the series), plus the OST consisting of the symphonic pieces being remixed, broken and generally mauled in remixing is just fantastic. The second game... It's okay on its own, but it's still the weakest game in the series - it's basically Drakengard 1, except with a more coherent story and little to no messed up things, because Taro didn't even work on it. Pretty much Dark Souls 2 of the series - an okay game on its own made by someone who didn't work on the general franchise, which actually happens to be the worst installment of its series. Hah, you've reminded me how J-RPGs devolved so much over the years that they went from my beloved genre to one of the most hated. *laughs* Nowadays, the only Japanese RPGs I still love are Souls games and Yakuza. And Trails of the Cold Steel, I guess, I'm slowly going through the second one and it's definitely the best J-RPG I've played in a long time.
Welcome to the club, while it was licensed in Poland and I used to watch it on Fox Kids, I remember watching the second and third season in German too, while also being completely clueless about the dialogues :D In fact, I remember watching a lot of anime in German, I remember Viva, that music channel, airing anime back when I was in the Middle School. Got introduced to X, Hellsing or Agent Aika thanks to these guys.
Damn, I congratulate you on your dedication :D To be honest, I can't stand Neptunia - this franchise has potential of being hilarious, but it focuses too much on the modern anime tropes and not enough of some funny satire of the industry. The fact that the games aren't exactly well-produced doesn't help too - I still can't get past MK 2 and Hyperdevotion Noire - started both of them last year and they still make me want to use my asshole as a musical instrument. Oh yeah, and that self-insert, twatty protagonist of Hyperdevotion Noire? I was so done when he appeared. Just let me watch the events unfold, there's no need to shove me into these characters' world, I'm not that big of an escapist (says the guy who gets super into Armored Core and Dark Souls). Also, she can be even more sadistic than Plutia if you "press the right buttons", if you know what I mean. -> That's the thing, I don't want to waste time with any buttons, Plutia just gets right to the point :D I will say this though, Purple Heart's design really is cool.
Haha, I can't say I'm a fan of RWBY, I don't hate this show, it's actually quite impressive for something made with such a low budget (even more so with how they really are improving over the course of each volume), it's more that I like the visual aesthethic of it and the world, but the actual story... I'm kinda too old for this shite. Like, I dig the designs of Neo, Blake (her Volume 4 design, that is, it's super good) and Weiss, along with the whole racism thing going on and Adam being this hateful bastard who really reminds me of the Black Panthers Party from the 1960's, by representing the oppressed group, but choosing the path of terrorism (and I can honestly understand the guy, even if he's a hilarious edgelord and I always laugh out loud when he's on screen). Same goes to Weiss' family story arc, that's pretty cool stuff too, but in order to get to the things that interest me, I need to sit through generic monster fighting and animu villains trying to take over the world and... yeah, you know what I mean, right? I'm just looking for different kinds of stories nowadays, even if RWBY does push some correct buttons in my eyes and, like I said, for something made by a small group of people, it's still hard to deny that it's truly impressive. I guess making it more like The Last Airbender, which I really liked, would've been better - more worldbuilding and character development, less fighting. But that would require more than this small team RT has. Well, at least I can hope for another video game - if RWBY protaognists get to appear in the upcoming BlazBlue title, I wouldn't mind it getting enough recognition to interest Platinum Games or something. Oh, and get Mick Gordon as the composer. We need a worthy successor to BFG Division in RWBY's OST. *laughs* Not gonna lie, after the new Doom and Wolfenstein, I kinda-sorta want Mick Gordon to compose the music to anything remotely badass :D
Hey mate, just wanted to say that you've got some pretty solid taste! :) You don't see Yoko Taro enthusiasts everyday. Also, hell yeah for Digimon Adventure, this show was my childhood :D ...seriously though, Neptune? Pffffft, we all know that Plutia is the superior Planeptune CPU.
Scathatch best girl ...okay, second best girl to me, Medb is still the best Celtic Servant :D

No worries though, I'm sure you'll manage to find something with better atmosphere soon :)
But only after paying a visit to my section manager and telling him to go lick my butthole.
Never seen that design before, but it sure is superior to the real thing :D There goes No Nut November.
but that's just how it is when you're working 12 hour shifts.
*laughs*
Although I would like if Valimar could be piloted more often.
