I didn't make it myself though, it's a layout i found in the Shishio's Custom Lists & Profiles Club. There are many awesome list designs there, you should check it. ^_^
These are the layouts they are sharing, you can use any of them. ^^
Well, it's actually 3 seasons. But you could count them as 2 seasons if you put season 1 (Aria The Animation) and season 3 (Aria The Origination) as 1 season in terms of number of episodes. Hope you'll enjoy Aria once you start watching it :)
I'll see if I would cry after feel attached to the characters. If I still didn't cry by then, that means I can watch almost any sad anime out there without shedding tears ^^ Well, like you said, preference. So there could be some anime that can make me cry xD So far, I haven't seen any yet.
I see. Well, I usually watch some funny stuff if I'm sad. No point in making it worse...
Thanks :D Good luck to you in school too :)
Well, you can give scores based on your own feelings of those anime. It doesn't have to be based on the majority of votes or anything. A lot of users gave 10/10 to almost every anime they've been watching, while others gave depressing scores to such good anime xD So it's all up to you, you don't need to be shy about it :) But it's fine if you don't score anything. At least it prevents people asking you why you gave a certain score to an anime.
Yeah, it's freezing here too. Though it rarely snows here this year xD Anyway, good night and sleep well :) Oh, nice pic of Saber ^_^
Agreed. I don't even know why the intro was made that way. May seem unique, but kind of misleading.
Yep, that's why I love slice of life genre :) I can escape into the series very easily if it's very good. Toradora! is a very good example. Along with the two I mentioned. I recommend you these two xD But I don't know if that type of slice of life ever interest you or not, but the Aria series is the best one out there. It has over 50 episodes in total (adding all the seasons and the OVA + specials). It's so relaxing that if you watch it at night time without any lights, you might easily fall asleep xD I'm only starting on Clannad. So I've a long way to go before completing it. Hope it's really good when I get to Afterstory. Afterall, it is highly rated and you also have it as your number 1 anime :D The plot can be a bit odd indeed (as far as I see). Yeah, I've heard other people cried too when watching Afterstory. I saw clips of some sad parts, but I didn't cry. I felt emotional but never cried. So I guess I can resist the sadness in Clannad a bit.
Not all of slice of life are depressing though. But something such as Clannad, Air and Sola, can be depressing indeed. As any supernatural elements can indicate some sadness in some episodes or in the main plot. But I wonder why you would do that (watch clips and make you cry)?? Just curious xD
Thanks :) My exam results for the first semester is going to be released next week...I didn't do too well in two out of three exams :( Kind of messed up in the exam. I just hope I can pass them~
Just as I guessed. Since she isn't here that long, then that would be the reason.
Btw, (as asked already) why you didn't give any scores to your finished anime? As most people are interested on the personal ratings when checking anime lists (or manga lists).
I see, ok then, thanks :)
Well, you could put just the year I guess, though I don't know if that's going to work or not on MyAnimegraph :/
It's ok :) It is difficult alright. Sometimes during weekends my parents go to bed so late that I can hardly find the time :/ But this happens a lot on Saturday evenings though. I guess...only if they know that anime has more genres and not all of them are for children, then they might like some. Usagi Drop is actually for adults in some ways for example. As it deals with real life issues and it's not something that children can understand if you show it to them. That's why I'm hooked to slice of life anime, as it deals with real life, but not in any extreme depressing way like in soap operas here. Though Usagi Drop is not really my top favourite, but it's heartwarming and I like Rin very much. But I prefer ones that don't really deal about going to school or romance or dealing with some heavy issues in real life. This is why Aria and Tamayura series (my top 2 anime) are my favourites and in my top 5. as they are not the typical slice of life anime compare to any others. TVs here, like what you said, they only broadcast Bakugan, Yugioh, or Bayblade etc. But they are all edited. I'm still a Yugioh fan, as the japanese version is much more serious than the english version. 5D's particularly, which is why it's also one of my top 5. Plus they show Pokemon of course xD
Well, I still go to school (well university to be more precise) even though I watch anime ^^ But I normally watch them at night time as mentioned, or during holidays, when nobody home during the day xD It's normal to have a huge plan to watch list. Afterall, there are tons of good anime out there xD
Yep ^^ It's ok :) Hmm...It depends. I suppose it's the accent. That could be the reason. But I think the 2nd person you mentioned must be staying there for so long that she is able to control the accent.
Oh btw, you don't score anything on your anime list?
Regarding the ''timeline'' on MyAnimeGraph, I figured out that you have no info because you didn't mention the Start Date and the End Date of each anime (i.e. when did you start watching it and when did you finish it). Once an anime has a Start Date and an End Date mentioned on your list, then it should appear on the timeline :) Use the edit option on your list (should be beside each anime name entry) and once the options come up, scroll down until you see the options "Start Date" and "Finish Date". Put in the dates and recheck the timeline again. Hope this helps :D
I see, no worries :D Yeah,my list is quite long, due to Plan to Watch list mostly xD But there are so many users whose anime list have thousands of completed anime xD So my one is far shorter than their list LOL xD
Well, I'm chinese and I can distinguish between chinese cartoons and anime xD As I watched a few chinese cartoons when I was little (though now I live in Europe). Pity that your mum cannot distinguish it xD My parents also call anime ''cartoons'' -___- Anyway, I'm sorry for being lazy, since I just replied to another user who asked the same question xD So hope you don't mind that I just copy and paste what I said to that user, as I would've said the same thing to you as well anyway :)
''Well, my parents just hate anime >.< My stepdad doesn't complain much, but he does complain about anime occasionally in the past (the drawing style, the movement etc.) or sometimes when we were talking about cartoons. Same as my mum. Everytime I watch some anime (dubbed) on TV few years ago (I wasn't that much an anime fan back then), they sometimes complain. Nowadays my mum has an extremely bad temper once something goes wrong. Plus, she expects me to watch useful stuff instead of ''cartoons''. The TV stations here only show sh*tty shounen anime (sh*tty because they are mostly edited and turned most teens shows into a childish show. Or turns an epic childish show into a garbage show). No 18+ aged anime are ever shown here unless you go and buy a DVD from an anime shop in town. So their judgement are based on whats on TV here -__- This is why I don't want them to know that I'm addicted to anime and watch a lot of them since winter 2011 and be on MAL. Or else I'll be suffering my mum's wrath o_o'' My stepdad usually says nothing, but he sometimes tells my mum like as if he is a messenger. So I don't bothered to tell him either. My 5 year old brother tells everything straight away anyway due to his age, hence no point in watching anime in front of his presence, as he always bothers me anyway >_<
So yeah, I've a tough life, lol. And much tougher once my brother shares my room, as then the door cannot be locked anymore as my mum might come down to my room at any time to check him (I'm just guessing here, but could be true)...She wakes up quite easily, so that's why even watching anime (or read manga) beyond midnight could be impossible once that happens.''
Yeah, it was hilarious xD Though there were some parts that weren't that funny, but they were ok. Also, there are characters from Shingetsutan Tsukihime too. Some people say that some parts won't be as understandable unless you have seen that anime. But for me, not really a difference. Maybe some bits I don't understand, but overall, it's still hilarious xD
Oh I remember that part, lol. ''Magicians hate machines'' was one of the messages I remember, LOL xD
I'll look it up later when my parents and my little brother are sleep xD As I watch anime in secret unfortunately :/ Sorry...
You didn't check my anime list it seems. Yes, I've finished Carnival Phantasm ages ago :D I loved it!!! The only thing is that, (poor) Lancer kept dying!!! @_@'' LOL I feel sorry for him. I wonder why the producers decided to make him a doomed man T_T But overall, it's hilarious! You should watch it! xD
You're welcome ^^
About that MyAnimeGraph Tracker, you need to first of all register you name >>here<<. The name is separate from your MAL username. So you cannot log into that tracker with your MAL username if you haven't registered it with a separate name. The name can be the same as your MAL name, but they are just separate accounts. Then there should be instructions such as asking you what's your MAL username, then you can create your own anime tracker from the instructions. It was a while ago since I created mine, so I don't really remember what were the instructions there. But it's really straightforward after you register it :) Good luck with it :D
Yeah, he is one of those characters that are needed for the story. Caster is afterall, one of the 7 classes of Servants :)
I was also surprised that Berserker turned out to be Sir Lancelot. He was a royal servant to Saber, but became a mindless warrior due to his past.
I still remember some fights, but indeed, not all of them as well, as it was around June when I finished F/Z and wrote my reviews on it. I also agree that this is a rewatchable anime. But I won't be rewatching F/SN though, too mediocre compare to Zero :D
You're welcome :) And nice Toradora! review by the way :) That anime is on my top 10 xD
Oh, Toradora, the magic you put into my spirit is like no other. From humble beginnings to Taiga's passionate screams, it seemed only like a decent romantic comedy. But the passion! The spirit! Every emotional ounce of effort put into the series is a miracle to behold, and I'm glad I watched it. It's wonderful to see people who are able to acknowledge the grace that is Toradora, and I enjoyed reading your review for it.
Unfortunately, from a critic's standpoint, your review wasn't all that's cracked up to be. Your structure was a little crowded. No paragraphs, not an immediate authority to provide spaces in between sentences and a lack of professional criticism is evidenced by your high praise. The only thing I've noticed about your review that would be counted as criticism would include your comments on how the plot is "predictable" and that the music is "childish." But is there anything else wrong about this series? Is this series perfect? I'm confused.
You also don't talk much about the aspects of the series, just of the anime as a whole. What other aspects of Toradora! is there to offer? The animation? The characters? The drama? Tell us! We want to know! We listen to you in order to find out these things in a review.
You also spoil a couple things about the series as well (Ryuuji makes breast pads for Taiga, Taiga and Ryuuji end up together). If you're going to be giving out information like that, I would suggest you warn people about it first, and remember that not everyone who reads your reviews has seen the topic at hand, so be sure to keep that in mind.
Try to work on these things in future reviews and I'm sure you'll be regarded in elite fashion in no time. If that's not your thing, then just treat this message as a fellow critic's hello! But if anything I've said to you helps in any way, I'm glad to help, and will look forward to reading more reviews from you in the future. Until then, happy reviewing!
Nice review of Fate/Zero. It's a pity that you watched them in chronological order, a shift in the atmosphere from Zero to Stay Night would be unsettling. As Stay Night was a disappointment compare to Zero and the tone is too light-hearted compare to Zero. But indeed, Fate/Zero is one of those anime that I got hooked the most as well, which is why it's on my favourites so far.
Caster in Zero is unique in my opinion even though you dislike him. a madman is better than the average Caster in SN. This actually makes the whole thing better and interesting, afterall, even his Master was a madman. Every Servant in Zero are unique and well-developed. But in SN every Servant are only average to me. Berserker is my favourite servant actually, his behaviour fits him quite well, the jet fight scene (Gilgamesh vs. Berserker) is just epic! :D
Another thing is that, the beginning of SN (Saber vs. Gil) didn't take place in Zero. So I think Studio Deen just made that one up :/
Well, there is no rule saying a review must contain a certain amount of information regarding the anime.
If people want information, they should read the synopsis and that should suffice.
Of course, you can go into detail about the characters and the story but if you write too much, I think you make a mistake.
The overall problem ist that many people expect the reviews to include that kind of information but even if you give it to them, it does not make the anime better, in fact, it ruins some of the elements which might be surprising.
To be fair, sometimes the synopsis does not include enough, I found that out during my review on Chihayafuru, because the synopsis there is really bad :D
