Things are well here, thanks for asking. How about you?

I loved the Marley arc. Eren is ruthless now.

I can't wait to see what comes next.

I have enjoyed Monster a lot more since my last comment. It really picked up the pace. I have a few gripes with it, such as

It was a little ridiculous to me. I have really enjoyed the series overall, however. I love the constant twists.

Thanks, I hope you are doing well and healthy as well! It's definitely been a tough time.

I have been so tempted to read the manga but I am trying to resist. It's torture waiting weekly to find out what is going to happen though. A few minor things have been spoiled for me from the manga but nothing too big. I can't wait to see how far Eren will fall down the path he is going down. He's such a great character now.

Mappa has done an admirable job for sure given the circumstances. I hate that things ended up this way and WIT couldn't finish the show but I completely understand why they left. I see a lot of people really complaining about the CGI of this season but it hasn't been bad to me. It's obviously not to the level of the previous seasons, but that was to be expected given the time constraints. As long as the story is good then I can look past the animation.

By the way, I see that Monster is in your top 5. I recently started watching it. I've seen 24 episodes so far. I like it but I'm hoping it picks up soon. Too many episodes that don't further the plot along enough so far in my opinion.

Hey man!

It's all good. We've all been busy. I've also been busy with enrolling for Uni and getting things sorted out, I totally understand where you're coming from. Happy New Year to you too and yeah, definitely hope things settle down this year.

Oh ok, I'd love to follow you and whoever you follow, so, if you don't mind, I'd love to know your Twitter username.

Secret Santa was quite fun this year, I got recommended Oresuki for the anime and Kamisama Hajimemashita for the manga, both series that I probably wouldn't have picked up on but I really enjoyed. How'd things go for you?

Yeah, I totally get that. Monogatari is definitely not for everyone. Even for me, it's one of those shows that I have to be in the right mindset to watch which is why I'm taking a break after each season.

I see, I do that almost all the time. I only watch sequels weekly because, bingeing is usually much more fun, which is why I watch most shows I wish to watch in the next season.

Episode 5 of Attack on Titan was truly amazing. I felt so much hype!!! Attack on Titan is one of the only series I like to watch weekly because I can take part in the discussions on Reddit. I also love that other people do all the work for me and find references to earlier moments and foreshadowing that led up to the moment which I probably wouldn't have found on my own. It is truly an amazing experience. I watched the ending scene, at least 3 or 4 times! The best comparison for this episode I could think of is the opening scene from Inglorious Basterds. I was astonished at how beautifully they could convey the tension between 2 people just talking. It felt like I was watching a Hollywood movie instead of an anime.

Also, the latest episode keeps up the hype! I was so excited to see who the Warhammer Titan was and what its ability is. Seeing the old team back in action was a delight. I'm especially curious about Eren's character now since he just ignores Mikasa asking about why he killed innocent civilians; "He keeps moving forward." It was also so pleasing to see best boy show up at the end and seeing the utter Horror on Porco's face at the thought of humans willing to fight titans was a delight.

Anyway, sorry for the rant about AoT, as you can see, I'm super excited! Hope you're doing well,

The movie is a little hard to find but i will try to watch it after i finish the series i am watching right now, i can´t wait.
Yeah Kimi ni Todoke is one of my favorite anime, it´s so lighthearded, i hope you keep enjoying it.
SSJSephiroth Jan 13, 2021 12:28 PM
Hey! I haven't been on here much in over a year since I haven't watched any new anime. We talked a little about Attack on Titan and how we were excited for the final season a little while back. The ending of the last episode was insane. How are you liking the season so far?
Qratozh Jan 3, 2021 6:26 PM
Thank you, i am having a great time i hope you too.I am very happy to hear that you liked my recommendation, i also remember having a good time watching the anime and i haven´t watched the movie but now that you mention it i feel i need to see it xD.Noragami was great for me so i´ll be waiting for your response and i hope you enjoy it.

And now that you mention Kimi ni Todoke, when i saw your post you said that also you wanted to see a romance anime and i thought of Kimi ni Todoke but i thought that 3 recommendations would be too much so i didn´t include it, but yeah it is a must, i loved it (the second season not so much) so i hope you enjoy it as well.

Happy New Year.

Hello hello! You are very welcome, I'm happy you liked it! Happy holidays to you as well! :)

Well, good to hear that you're keeping safe and healthy.

Thanks for your recommendation of using Twitter but I've never had a conversation on Twitter and I don't know anyone to talk to either or how to find them. I'm clueless as to how to start this but I do really enjoy discussing shows. My best discussion by far has been with you, I'm really grateful.

I certainly saw where you were coming from in your opinions towards Oregairu, and they were all justified. I just wanted to present some arguments from the author's perspective, as to why he may have chosen to make those decisions. I felt it was a little slow and some things didn't make sense to me but at that point, I just try to justify it by thinking from the author's perspective. However, I certainly respect your opinions.

I've also signed up for Secret Santa and I've got my recipients too. I'm glad you're doing it again too. I really enjoyed gifting and receiving recommendations last year and I'm sure this year will be just as fun.

That's a fair opinion on Bake, I also love Bunny Girl Senpai. However, Bake isn't the best the series has to offer. If you just look at the ratings, many Monogatari seasons are in the top 50 on MAL, Second Season being one of them. Tsubasa Tiger was great, I related with her so much as well. I think my favourite arc from the season is either Nadeko Medusa or Hitagi End though (which come later). I think the voice acting by Hanazawa, Kanna was phenomenal and I loved the story as well. Also, Kaiki is such an interesting character.

I really have to be in the right mood to watch Monogatari which is why I watch one season and then watch some other series, but I think it is genuinely a work of art. I recently watched Hanamonogatari which is the next one after Second Season (you're catching up to me) and I thoroughly enjoyed that too. I love the interactions between these characters. It's similar to Oregairu now that I think about, just more coming-of-age instead of romance, I guess. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Second Season you've finished it, I think you'll like the last few arcs.

Also, the Winter season (although it's Summer here lol) looks full of hype. We got second seasons of Quintessential Quintuplets, Beastars and The Promised Neverland, Re;zero's coming back and Horimiya is being adapted (one of my favourite manga). If you liked Oregairu, you'll probably like Horimiya as well. Attack on Titan is currently airing and seems full of hype!!! (I read basically up to where we're at right now in the manga, but I opted to wait for the anime to come out to experience the beastly action in motion and I'm not disappointed. What do you think of the next season of anime?

Kind Regards,

Heyyyy! Sorry, I was busy with stuff and hadn't opened MAL for a while.

I'm doing quite well. The situation is quite controlled and safe where I am so there aren't any concerns. I hope you're safe and healthy too.

Your review is quite detailed and I'm glad that you watched the show from such a critical perspective (which you kind of have to or it doesn't make much sense). About Haruno's character, yeah I guess she may have felt out of place at times; saying obscure stuff just to complicate the relationships between the characters. However, I think her character was justified. Considering the household she was brought up in and the responsibilities that were imposed on her at an early age, it makes sense why she views things in such a way. It also made sense why she was interfering in their relationships, since she actually cares quite a lot about her little sister. I think her character was necessary to make Hachiman realise his true emotions and I don't think the events would have turned out the same way if she wasn't there. I don't think Yukinoshita's mum was unnecessary either. She was the major 'antagonist' of the arc which every arc needs. She does bring confusion and stalemate but it is completely reasonable that parents would have problem with such a prom and it is also very realistic for complications to arise when you plan something ambitious which is something I love about the series; it's realism. Sure, she could have been replaced by some random member of the school's council but that wouldn't have made such an impact. Her being family added to the tension and the importance to the please her, it would feel superficial if it was some random person. It was also thematically relevant since Yukino wanted to help with her father's business and this gave her a chance to showcase her skills. I understand where you were coming from for the first two points but I don't really understand what you mean by the execution of the prom falling short. I don't think it would have made much sense if they were the ones graduating. For the premise of the season to hold, they needed to be organisers, or the plot developments and the events that took place would never happen. I guess they could be organising their own graduation but it would add external motivation to their organisation which, I feel, takes away from their true motives and overall, depreciates the realism.

What I love about this series is how it takes mundane situations and complicates them to such a degree, making relatable and realistic. Most people don't live a romcom lifestyle; the situations and struggles of these characters are seemingly minute (although, feel quite important) but much more likely to occur in everyday life.

I totally understand your points. I also did feel that the show was a little boring at some points but I think those moments were important for the overall themes and in hindsight, I don't really know how to improve them. I'm probably just seeing it through rose-tinted glasses, which is why I can't really see much wrong with it and can't agree with you. I guess my biggest criticism for the show would be that you have to be in a specific mindset to watch it (which isn't really a criticism) hence why, it took me about 3 months to actually watch all of it lol. I just couldn't watch more than one episode at a time.

I am also looking forward to this year's Secret Santa. I had so much fun last year and was recommended some amazing series. I would also love to keep talking to you about anime we've watched. I really like your detailed comments for each anime.

I'd also love to hear about what you thought of the monogatari series. I'm also currently watching Hanamonogatari, so you might be catching up to me.

Kind Regards,
Ankhseram9

Yo, I just finished watching Oregairu. Kan. I truly loved it. I really can't express my feelings in words but I'll try to summarise it to the best of my abilities. While watching Oregairu, I cried and laughed, smiled and sobbed; tears of joy rained down and so did tears of sorrow. However, I saw that you rated it lower than the other seasons so I wanted to hear your thoughts. I also saw you recently started the Monogatari series, I hope you like it.
